My question is why most of the eye doctors who wear specs doesn't undergo any of these surgeries either lasik or smile?
I think because these procedures are done to correct those who have short sight , we develop a condition called presbyopia that is inability to focus nearby objects at our 40’s, so though we lead spectacle free life till 40 , after 40 yrs we may requir glass again , thats one reason those who know doesn’tundergo this procedure , cornea gets weakened after the procedure like lasik so they think why to trouble the cornea so they prefer wearing spectacles.
Its purely for cosmetic purpose, not to improve efficiency, both spectacle wearers and non spectacle wearers who have undergone lasik outshines in their life the same way right.
I dont know about smile procedure.

Because lasik doesn't correct near vision. So you end up buying progressive lens. But a at least you save a lot with progressive lenses becaus you don't need to buy ultra thin.

I comes to know that after any eye surgery, there is a small side effect occurs that if we watch bright light, eye vision gets blocked for couple of seconds. This is very dangerous when we are self driving in night time. So this same problem has in smile treatment?
That can happen after few days of surgery but generally it resolves after a month.. so no worries, you can go ahead with the surgery if you are a candidate!!

Every procedure has risks and benefits. Risk is 5% chance of not getting the exact vision that they wanted, it depends on individual to individual.. Also eye must be suitable.. I am an eye doctor and my friend who is an eye doctor did LASIK.. And another problem is that you see ONLY doctors wearing glasses but if a doctor is not wearing glasses how do you know whether they did LASIK/ SMILE or Not?
