#Machining #Machinist #Engineering - Věda a technologie
One of the greatest channels of manufacturing in youtube. You are getting a lot of experience through all of them even about machines some of us couldnt afford. Its incredible to see people´s willing to share, this was unimaginable a few years ago, everything was "secret" even between machinists..
yes its freaking crazy
social brain as Marx defined it...
I am designing very fine 3d printed chainmail, started at 3mm wide rings, 4x smaller than anything I could find online, it's so fine that it feels like fabric! The gaps between the rings while they print is 250 microns. Now I'm trying 2mm and 1.6mm wide rings but plastic just isn't strong at that scale so they print fine and then break when removed from the supports. If you guys wanted to try to print it on that machine that would be awesome!
That is pretty cool. I'm not a machinist but love watching you guys.
This channel has come such a long way in the 7 years that I've been watching it. Good footage as always everyone! 👌🏾
I love new machine day!! It’s always exciting
This channel is awesome. All of your videos are interesting and the quality is great. Keep it up.
Oh man!! That's so badass! I can't wait to see what else you can pump out on that, Trevor!!!
Our business has recently extended its service offerings to accommodate 3D Metal printing using the TruPrint 3000. It's great to see a similar company spreading awareness on the machines capabilities. Great work! 🙂
hey how is it going? was it worth it?
That machine passed through my warehouse, crazy small world!
2 questions 1 comment...
-how long did the Qualify build take?
-curious who and how is the Stainless made in dust form (makes it 3 questions, but wild)
-lastly... awesome vids, 35 field years as a electrical repair dude... everything from the largest gear hobbers, to massive kinetic and Tanaka laser systems, rebuild quill tailstocks on turret lathes, to simple dust collection. Worked on it all. The passion of your group IS BADASS!!!
The qualifying build was about 4 hours. This 316L powder is made by a process called gas automization. Thank you for watching and supporting 👊🏼
@@trevorgoforth8963 you mean "atomization"
@@mehmettemel8725 Yes, thank you 😆
Never have been or will be a machinist. But your videos are must watch.
Outstanding video! Glued to it the whole time!
Hi shanie🌹
How are you doing?
just ordered mine on Amazon, thanks for the review!
You get free shipping on that $300,000 amazon printer? 😅
@@Chaosweaver-1 triple that
@@Mr30friends So 300,000 is the machine only.... Without the accessories and cup holder? 😁
I appreciate you guys so much
Very cool, another new super cool toy...I mean machine 😁.
Damn, you guys are taking unboxing to the next level.
I work at an edm shop and we’ve had some trumpf plates come in where we cut off the parts with a wire. The qualifying build looks familiar
The exposure time of raw powder with the atmosphere seems minimal. Helping maintain the oxygen percentage of the power and also seems safer to the operator.
Yep, spot on. All of the powder handling happens in a sealed and inert environment!
So how did the sample build compare with the model? As a retired, machinist/programmer/engineer I would make a circle/diamond/square test to ensure that everything was to specification on new CNC mill equipment, then using a CMM get a base line result.
If you don't measure you are not managing.
Man, would I LOVE this machine!
Congratulations
I’m not a machinist but I’m fascinated by your work. If you set up bleachers and admission fees I’m sure some folks would pay just to watch you work! I would!😊
Trumpf distillery lol. That is dope!
why didn't they get True print 5000?
Maybe we will someday!
Hey guys i love your videos! Keep it goinng❤🎉
Hi Fam. Tech! Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate your continued support 🤙
@@Sara-TOC 👍😅
still waiting for the post-printing process footage to get mirror surfaces on those printed parts...
That thing looks like a beast of a 3D printer!!
What level of accuracy can you get from this machine?
It is a beast for sure! A good general rule of thumb for accuracy is +/- .1mm or .004”.
Given that the metal powder it uses has particles up to 63 microns, the actual accuracy of perimeters that are melted by the laser is probably around twice that.
@@significantharassment The sieve screen is 63 microns but the powder used in this case has a particle size distribution of 15-45 microns.
how about printing you own shrink fit toolholder¨s with powder or oil fillet rooms for dampening effect thats then ground to size on the grinder ?
It was new machine day yesterday at my shop, Another SMEC mill turn in the house
Congrats!
Matt Cyr Since you already had SMEC brand how do you find it's reliability and accuracy?
@@mehmettemel8725 Theyre awesome machines, We have a bigger 2000 series y axis and it holds tenths all day long.
Very rigid and well built.
@@mattcyr3342 Thanks Matt.
I have a large manifold prototype I would like to get 3d printed, is that something you guys could bid ?
You guys should come to South Africa 🇿🇦 lots of money to maid and upgrade equipment etc
Why and how does the print stick to the baseplate? And now to remove? Don't large prints fall off, when tilting at the vacuum station ?
I have never worked with this kind of machine, but I have a question. Why would you want to invert your print instead of vacuuming it? There will always be pockets that do not empty by turning them upside down. Can you vacuum them afterwards anyways or?
The sieve station would need a vacuum pump to pull the material back into it. The vacuum pressure used will evacuate all the little pockets without asking. I suspect, though have not seen, that the depowdering station gently shakes the part to eject stray powder that’s stuck up there.
As to why you’d want to invert…gravity is free energy, vacuum pressure costs money to buy the electricity that makes it. Germans LOVE solutions that save money and energy…which is probably why the depowdering station has a crank to flip the part over by hand instead of a motor.
what is up with the circular build plate? why not rectangular? why does it even require a build plate?
More toys, yippee!
Why not keep both? As this way things that can be done on both machines will take half the time at you would have had two machines doing the work.
May I how much for the whole setup ? I am planning to have one.
JUst wanna ask.
Why didnt you guys go with DMG mori? They basically have an AIO system, Like sieveing and everyting
I think they partner with people who are willing to help support the channel and school and who make good equipment. So they are getting this at some special price, possibly a free loan. Not that the gear doesn't perform, but this impacts who they are going to feature. They have done stuff with DMG Mori and a variety of other vendors in the past.
Did you guys also ask the people from meltio and Kuka? That is in my Vision Next Level. Or a DMG Mori LaserTec..
Still great. So lets then do something crazy.
Where does someone go to get trained on how to operate these machines and make the code for the machine to print whatever it’s going to print?
What is the approximate cost of this Trumpf setup shown?
It’s closer to a million than it is 750K.
I like how he said free education. Free is nice..... you should print a space ship as a Novelty piece lol.
This thing will def help in AK50 BCG mass production 😂
how to remove the part from the build platform?
How do the printed pieces not fall off the build plate when it is inverted?
The parts are welded to the build plate so they won’t fall off. They need to be cut off the build plate using a saw or an EDM.
Does Trumpf make their own powders or do they use someone like Praxair?🤔
Can you show removing the prints from rhe build plattes?
We will absolutely be showing that in future videos 👍🏼
VOGLIO LAVORARE DA VOI.❤
La frase corretta sarebbe ''VOGLIO LAVORARE 'CON' VOI''
You should do more car parts stuff . 🙏🇿🇦🇺🇲
How do you keep your shop so clean? Is that a top priority that you make everyone subscribe to or is it just a symptom of the large amount of space you have?
The shop cleanliness is a product of everyone taking pride in how good the shop looks. As well as having an understanding that the way the shop looks reflects on us! Keeping it clean is a perfect opportunity to show customers that you strive for excellence in every aspect of your business. 💪🏻
cnc machines generally don't make a mess unless your blowing swarf of a finished part
Some of their parts need to be made in as clean an environment as possible - aerospace parts, the 3d printed skull insert Trevor made a video about, stuff like that. They probably also give tours to executives of companies they’re trying to recruit as customers… “sir, we are the finest machine shop on the planet” doesn’t sell well when you’ve got thirty gallons of coolant on the floor with 20 gallons of Swiss Oil floating on top of it, and there’s a ton of chips stuffed up inside the machines. Clean as you go, sir.
TRUMPF 😎
Make Addative Great Again
Please show how to measure it. Anybody can hit the green button, how do we know it's right?
Thank you for your suggestion! 🙂
Titans, can this truprint 3000 print in Tantalum Hafnium Carbide who's melting temperature is over 7,100 degrees F. ? If so I would like to hire you to make a model of a rocket engine and it could be tested for water cooling during test firing.
Why is the depowdering not integrated into the machine? especially if it's just about rotating the build plate 180°, it seems so unnecessary and time consuming.
You can unpack it in the machine with the internal vacuum if you want. The benefit of having a separate machine for depowdering is that you can unpack builds while the printer runs.
Giveaway the 'old' one 😂👍
Why not the 5000?
regarding the last video can you prove it was legitimate 30 minutes
what is thath mask?

No no, the qualifying part has to always be a benchy,
this process seems less productive than CNC
It's not just about productivity it's more ability.
100% sure that brand name is turning people off before they even get to the product. Do not assume humans are smart and unobjective.
