hey guys, another memphis mafia member from the early days (when he wasn't popular). btw, i digress, but did you know that elvis presley got an "f" in music when he was at school. that teacher must have been deaf and dumb.i know he never had lessons for any instruments, and couldn't read any music sheets, he just played on instinct. anywayi .. this is a touching story that was commonplace for him. he did heaps for people, and charitable organisations; 90% of it was never publicised in any way - at his request. it was only disclosed after he passed. the gifts and money spent helping people he didn't even know is unreal (the reason he took off to see nixon in the previous request you did was because of the hard time he was getting at home about the amount of money he was spending on others). he loved giving, and never forgot what it was like to grow up in poverty. I don't think too many celebrities would do what's disclosed in this clip. and bear in mind - you haven't heard it yet - he actually visited the person in this story. as phenomenal an entertainer as he is, its this side of him i love the most. cheers, matt

In a world full of money hungry people I just wish there were more like Elvis.
Elvis did a lot of good in his life.
The one story I love is a concert where Elvis noticed a little girl in the audience and realized that she was blind. He had her come up on stage gave her a hug & put his red scarf around her neck. He told her that he would help her anyway he could. There is a picture of them online. That's who Elvis was & I wish the entertainment media would show his humanitarian stories more instead of negative stories.
Although, it would kind of suck to know you had Elvis in your house and you didn't get an autograph! LOL! Elvis truly was a generous person. He got his joy from giving to others.
He gave so much to those who needed something. His father used to get mad at him and say “ son, your generosity is going to put us back in the poor house” Elvis said Daddy, I can work another concert to earn money back. When he died, he only had about 5 million dollars only to his name plus a Trust Fund for his daughter. He’d hand out jewelry to people at his concerts etc. I believe he went straight to heaven when he died & the sad loss of his daughter this past year tore at the fans hearts for many had met her and felt that it would have killed him had he lived. May they both RIP along with her son who committed suicide in 2020 which totally devastated her. We can be famous & have all the money in the world & tragedy still strikes us all. Thank you guys so much. 😊😢❤❤
This is agreat story and there are so many more. The story of Gary Pepper ( a fan and fan club president in Memphis) is so incredible. Gary had Cerebral Palsy and Elvis befriended him, literally took care of his family and they remained close his whole life. Evis loved people and that is why we all still love him. Thanks for this great reaction and confirming what a humanitarian and generous soul he was.❤❤❤

What a wonderful caring man Elvis was. Yeah, Sonny had remorse over the terrible book he co wrote about Elvis, and he never had the time to apologise to Elvis before E passed. Sonny did talk shows after that telling people of the good Elvis did. I enjoy your Elvis reactions. 🤗👍⚡

Not only all of the things that we have literally witnessed from ELVIS... his talent, his unfathonable good looks, his charisma; it is the untold humanitarian part of him, which made him "The KING of Rock and Roll"! He will always be the GOAT of, at least one Century, possibly two! No one has yet come close to the infinte specialness of him! He is definetly a "one of a kind PERSONA"! I cannot imagine anyone who will ever be able to come close to his greatness! ❤

At one of his concerts. There was a little boy in a wheel chair at the very front with his mother. Elvis noticed him and took one of his rings and gave it to the little boy *ring valued at around 300k*

Of all the bodyguards that ever worked for Elvis, no one was probably tougher than Sonny West. That was one man you didn't want to get into a fight with.
There is much to says about this fella, but in the end you can tell that his love and respect for his former boss and friend overshadows everything.

There is a fantastic short ( +/- 20 minutes ) documentary about Elvis Presley available here in YT called " Elvis and the Black Community." It contains black and white ( as well as colour ) footage of some Americans opinion of Elvis back when he first started.
It`s not neccessary to be a fan of Elvis to watch - and more listen - to the video to aquire an appreciation of a small part of US Cultural History.
I just checked it out : It`s about 15 minutes in length. I`ll give you a hint toward that short documentary : Some chap standing and purporting to represent his `hood ( I`m English, so hope I may use that term `hood ) stands by with a sign saying "we serve whites only."
Yes I couldn't take a lot more as the emotions were beginning to get out of control. As an aside I believe he got angry with Elvis as I understand it quite a lot as did his his cousin Red West but as bodyguards they were only too pleased to put their lives on the line as they regarded him as a true friend.

him and his brother betrayed Elvis - They got heavy handed with fans, and Elvis told his dad to give them six weeks wages and to take a break and come back when they sorted themselves out. His dad sacked them and they wrote a nasty book. Elvis got the manuscript of their book in Jan 1977 and it broke his heart, to the point he totally spiralled (look at him Dec 76 and compare to May/June 77, 5 months later). He died 2 days before it was due to be released. Make of that what you will. (his brother also recorded Elvis during phone calls) - Here is this cretin then making money out of 'memories' - disgusts me. Just used the poor guy same as his manager.
As far as I know, Elvis was a good fellow. But he made a big mistake by opposing The Beatles. A musical talent as him should have realized what he was fighting against.
Elvis never hated the Beatles, he loved their music. He bought their records. You can hear him sing Beatles songs in reheasals and in conserts here on CZcams. He was in Hollywood making movies when they came out, didn't performe live in eight years. Elvis came back big time after that, and the Beatles broke up.
The rumour that he hated them is because of his visit to Nixon. If you listen to the hilarious story " We were there when Nixon met Elvis" you will hear Jerry Schilling explain how it really was about Elvis wanting Nixon to get him a narco badge. He was obviously not thinking clear at the time.
