Elvis interview; March 31, 1972 - Hollywood, California
    • Elvis interview; March...
Elvis interviewed after his rehearsals at the RCA Studio A in Hollywood - originally filmed for the 1972 film "Elvis On Tour" but barely anything was used in the final cut, which is a shame as it is one of the more intimate interviews Elvis ever gave.
Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel were the two guys responsible for the interview, as well as the whole 1972 movie in general.
hey guys, this is a 1972 uncut unedited interview from ep. theer aint a lot of it, not because he wasn't open and willing to talk, but because his manager was so controlling and kept him away from the press unless he ok'd it. this was the one thing i hate about his career. the greatest entertainer of all time released in 1969 on his comeback suspicious minds, burning love, a whole memhis record that was and is revered, and it nearly didn't get released. unless the manager got 50% of the publishing from any song he sung, he was not allowed to cut the track. this is why you see him sing so much cover music as the 70's went on. i think this interview ill give you some insight into who he was, and where he was at at the time. you know it's hardly surprising really that he became addicted to prescription meds, his creative freedom was not there. but what a career, and that is restrained. i guess on the flip side the manager did have to deal with the early controversy which was bordering on being sent to prison !! enjoy
