charcuterie 👏 board 👏 sandwiches 👏
You're awesome guys, keep the good work!
I loved when you told Andrew that he basically made a salad in a sandwich hahahah great come back AND it’s true.
I loved your sandwich. In fact I'm eating it right now.
Charcuterie sandwich sounds amazing!
i did NOT expect the dising and sassiness content of this episode😂😂😂 that was hilarious. loved every second😂😂
Andrew calling Inga's sandwich a charcuterie board and then proceeding to make essentially a salad is peak comedy.
FR
LOL
andrew came off so douchey here lmao he only voted for sean bc he knew inga was gonna win if he didn’t
They're all extremely good friends. It's all just banter
@@orangeclub6921You're really overthinking things. Maybe he literally just liked Sean's sandwich more. Also he's always talked and acted this way.
@@orangeclub6921he’s just having fun
Arguing sandwiches is as close to political as food gets. And 3 minutes doesn't allow time to toast the bread; like you're supposed to.
Agree. I don’t think the time limit really adds anything. Also, if they plan on doing different foods in this same format, there’s no way to do literally anything else in three minutes. Maybe a thirty minute time limit if they have to have one?
You say that but...
Toasting a sandwich is a crutch to get around proper sandwich construction.
i love how brutal andrew was
Depends on what bread you’re using. Inga used a baguette for her sandwich so there was no need to toast it. Even then most people don’t toast bread either for sandwiches. Especially if they're meant to be served cold which was most of these sandwiches anyways .
This is also a low-key “Andrew Cooks A Lot Of One Ingredient” episode, because we now know what Andrew would do with 20lbs of lettuce: he’d put it all on a single sandwich.
I haven't watched the whole thing yet, very excited to see what happens lol 👀
Lmfaooo
Andrew: Dad
Inga: Little sister everyone loves
Sean: High achieving brother that isn't acknowledged
I met Sean a couple times irl when I lived in L.A. Gonna be honest, he isn't a very nice fellow.
@@blurocktech why’s he so quiet? Lol idk man are you sure?
this was so fun to watch - it should be retitled to Andrew Roasts Everyone
Andrew toasts everyone except the breads
Andrew is mean 🤣
...and then loses!
@@farziakarim3087 no, just brutally honest
They were so harsh to Sean 😂 His sandwich looked so good
My two favourite moments:
Andrew: what is hard cheese?
Sean: like... um... Not soft cheeses.
...and
Sean: *talks about how his favourite sandwiches don't have so much vegetable that he feels like he's eating a salad*
Andrew: *puts a salad in between two pieces of bread*
modern day philosophy
How tf does a chef not know what hard cheeses are?
@@aryanbaviskar4127 who said Sean was a chef?
Andrew says his sandwich makes up for inconsistent proteins... but getting a good avocado and flavorful ripe tomato is way trickier than pulling cold cuts from your fridge. Their reliability is why they are the go-to sandwich filling. Whereas every time you buy an avocado, you're not buying an avocado... you're buying the *chance* to buy an avocado.
I found it funny that Andrew was the one talking the most "trash" and then, he was the one coming up with the trickiest and, honestly, most underwhelming sandwich of the 3.
Never heard anyone say it like that but you hit it spot on about buying avocados 😂😂
Oddly enough I used to make a similar sandwich to Andrew, but with this costco cibatta buns. I never had the best of the best veggies laying around but it worked.
💯
I think his point was grab whatever veggies you have in your fridge, not "you must have an avocado and a nice tomato in this sandwich".
I love this concept, but I think it’s important to give yourself the time to properly prepare the food. Either giving yourself more time or no time limit at all would improve the format. I would love to see how the coleslaw was made, allow you to toast the bread if needed, properly seasoning the food, NOT FORGETTING INGREDIENTS etc. that way you’re actually presenting the best possible version of the food, not the one you can make fastest. The frantic/fast paced energy seems to go against a lot of what I (we?) love about your content.
Again, I absolutely love the concept, hearing everyone’s subjective opinions on thing like this is so fun, the banter/roast is entertaining, and everyone was a good sport about it!
Yes! I don't know what the point of making it a race was. "My best sandwhich but also I have to make it in 3 minutes" doesn't make much sense.
Totally agree! That was fun for a change, but here's why I don't like it as a format:
- Nice people trying to trash talk each other... it's just not believable. 😆You can totally tell that they're cringing inside and even apologizing in their heads as they try to say mean things to each other.
- I've never liked time-restricted 'competitive cooking' since it reminds me of reality TV and the very selfish win-at-all-costs mentality.
- I much prefer the usual tone of ATE which to me is calm, considerate and thoughtful cooking with a side of learning and delight.
the only possible reason i can think of for the time contraint was so that everyone's opinion and memory of the food wont fade too much as the next person is cooking and so you can make the best comparision, instead of perfectly making the sandwich and waiting 10-20 mins before each dish, and since they want the format of 1 goes after another, having long cook times in between might not be viable
Yeah I don't see the point of the time limit. Were they pressed for time in filming?
+
Andrew was savage. This was a blast. Would definitely like to see more.
i didnt know andrew can diss someone like this 😂 so much fun to watch
Andrew is such a polite, composed individual that sometimes I forget he's savage whenever he roasts people 😂
I think this could be an interesting series without the time limit. The time limit I think forces you to rush it. Oh, and they broke this rule anyway but unlimited questions. I want all the answers about the food. 😄
Yes
I think an adjustment to like 5-7 minutes
I would do maybe 10 minutes next time? Just to allow time to formulate your perfect dish. The 3 minutes is so frantic and I’d want more of an explanation during the process lol
Yeah if not 10 then at the very least 5. Cuz I get wanting to stick to the argument of "a sandwich should be something quick and easy to make", but 3 minutes is definitely way too short.
I wanna say no time limit especially if they start doing bigger meals.
10 is too much, but 5 would have been fairer to properly create the ratio of ingredients.
I eat something similar to Inga's sandwich, but instead of something like a fig jam, I use apple slices.
I like a pepper jam
Definitely vote for Inga but the failure in all these is these options is that the bread should be toasted or grilled! 3 minutes puts a really hard stop to a great sandwich!
You don't toast a fresh baguette 🤦♀
@@B_27 well I mean its not like its fresh straight out of the oven, toasting it would go a long way
@@3973555 By fresh I mean it was baked and purchased that day in which case, there is no need for toasting. No reputable bakery would sell a day old baguette.
toasted > not toasted
@@3973555 not for a baguette which is already crunchy on the outside. Toasting it would make it extremely hard and ruin the texture.
Guys, give yourselves at least 10-15 minutes to make decent sandwiches! There's really no reason for this to be done in a rush.
6 minutes. Double what they had but still more reasonable for a "I don't have much time to make my lunch" kind of thing.
I mean for me I have to do it fast when I’m already late to work (for lunch)
This series is just Andrew roasting people. And I'm here for it
Which is hilarious considering his sandwich choice gave him no ground to stand on lol
Inga & Shawn: doing their best in 3 minutes
Andrew: today I was *going* to make an idiot sandwich but apparently there’s already 2 here. Now marvel at my 🥬 lettuce🥬
No time to roast the bread, gotta roast the people instead! XD
@@StretchReality That's what makes it funny.... 😄
As a french person I felt a tiny part of my soul leave my body when Inga scooped the inside of the brie like it was cream cheese leaving the rind on the side :'-)
well put even though i am not french :)
I was shocked to see Inga eviscerating that cheese and spreading it like Nutella, leaving the white mould rind like it was deBrie. It doesn’t go with the cultured Europhile image she projects.
Omg I was looking for this comment I could not deal with that imagine
@@swisski typical american :P
Even as a german I was shocked seeing this (and we are cutting Camembert in slices, not triangles...).
I personally also think that Inga’s sandwich seems much more convenient, quick and also would hold well when it’s on the go. I think the 3 min might be tight. 10 min is enough to toast and prep. I also think maybe a score out of 10 for each person makes sense so it would be a possible 20 points for each person. But a great first episode!
The sass and the interaction between the hosts in this new series is great 😂
Inga's sandwich is what I'd like to eat. Andrew just piled up a bunch of lettuce & supermarket bread without any dressing. Shawn's sandwich seemed to be wet, charcuterie board comparison was totally adequate, but it did seem promising. My vote: Inga, Shawn, Andrew.
With a sandwich like that, Andrew must be the life at the party.
Seeing their sassy sides is such a breath of fresh air! I love the calm and chill vibes of the channel but this new series has a different appeal to it! 💗💗
i laughed too hard at andrew's "charcuterie board"
Meanwhile he had salad on bread
Inga's was the best in my opinion even without going to high end deli's for ingredients very easy to replicate or create a varriation of with ingredients from your local supermarket and even add some varriations to it which for me would have been candied jalapenos. Sean's was not a sandwich he readily makes at home as well and for me reduces it's standing, there are just some sandwiches that will always be better at the source. Sorry Andrew straight up veggies on bread with mayo is not a sandwich I'd go for, it would require some tuna, bacon, ham in my world.
Inga! 😊❤
Sean made a club sandwich, and I get regionally they call it a sloppy joe but honestly? Three pieces of bread? You're making a club sandwich.
I love fig jam and brie and bread and while I don't like ham, Inga's absolutely the real winner.
Gosh, Sean made his own ketchup?! Maybe it was the rush to speak while making a sandwich in three minutes, and being very humble about the ingredients, but I was wowed with the vinegar coleslaw (special attention to make it not creamy), and then making your own Russian dressing...Sean brought a whole lot of
Out of the three, i think inga's would be the only one I would truly make/order. I really like a nice french bread, brie, and fig jam. I really don't like an over saturation of strong sauces/being too wet. Andrews is nice and easy but the imagination of eating it specifically seems a little on the blander side, maybe a layer of sauce on the other bread might help.
One of my sandwich favs is almost exactly like Inga's but instead of fig jam I use thin slices of apple or pear. I also add grainy Dijon mustard.
That's a perfect alternative, I think that do this in future, sometimes one isn't in the mood for so much sugar
One of my favourite sandwiches sold at a place that shut down years ago was with pears and camembert/brie, mayo and alfalfa sprouts.
@@nata6025 Exactly. I find that some sweet sandwich ingredients completely takeover and overpower. When assembled, I like that you can taste everything.
@@thatsalt1560 I've always been a fan of acidic/sweet fruit and unripened cheeses in a sandwich. And I kinda "construct" a sandwich so everything balances out in the end. It sounds pretentious but I like contrasts in flavour and texture. Green apple slices add texture like crisp greens along with sweetness and tart.
that sounds so good
i'm shocked andrew's not doing his peanut butter and pickle sandwich xD
I thought that too
I was looking for this comment! Andrew, I feel betrayed hahaha!!
the idea for the series is good, minus the time limit. I believe the 'explaining' part is essential since the observers are not aware of the stuff being done by the one making the sandwich. And with the time limit, they are forced to rush things, which is kinda weird since the setup gives a relax vibe, more like c'mon let's have a lazy chitchat
EDIT: my fave sandwich is basically just a very simple liver spread in a white loaf bread, partnered with a hot choco or a regular 3-in-1 instant coffee. Not for the bougie people, but as someone who grew up having this, it brings so much comfort, milky bread with a bit bitter because of the toasted liver in the liver spread partnered with a sweet creamy coffee.
I think Andrew shines on this channel. He seems more relaxed and seriously invested in the content. Love the videos.
I just love Andrew. I just want to hear his opinions about things he has opinions about, he doesn't actually have to produce anything unless if that helps him formulate opinions, so this is a perfect series.
Personally comes across as mean-spirited and arrogant - everyone has an opinion but doesn’t mean it’s worth listening to
@@masstwitter4748 wouldn't call it mean spirited just very pretentious
Yes please! More videos like this. Really shows the personalities of the crew better and makes it fun to watch.
Please keep this series going, I love Andrew just roasting everyone 😭
I made this yesterday: Muhammara on one side of the bread, roasted smoky aubergine in olive oil on the other, tinned sardines, piparras (spanish pickled chiles) and cilantro.
This was fun for me to watch but 3 minutes looked rough for you guys lol. I think longer prep time would do everyone some good 🙂
I loooove this esp the harsh and hilarious comments from Andrew but I do wish they could make the timing longer to perfect their dishes. I hope this series has more drama in upcoming episodes. So exciting :D
I vote Inga’s! Of the 3 she def gets my preferred flavor profile. Balsamic glaze would be so good on that. Honestly caramelized onion and tomato too if you wanted to load it up.
Now I’m hungry…
Ok the dissin' and roasting was awesome. Love the chemistry and the format. More please.
All of these look great! I think I wanna try Inga’s the most but maybe with a different type of bread. Baguettes are great but hurt to eat 😅
This turned out better than I thought! Love the more relaxed / casual vibe vs. typical more professional videos (which I also enjoy). Nice change in pace
Great informal format, varied and also fun to see you dunk on each and laugh with each other!
I think with a little more time for each sandwich, or maybe having all of the ingredients prepped and ready to use, this series would be like absolutely perfect. This was such a great video and I love watching everyone just vibe, its so great.
Also I love Sean so much, he is my new favorite person alive.
the time limit was a bit harsh, but good idea, there is objectively good food, but mostly it is subjective, and personal opinions about good food is an interesting subject to explore
What an interesting intense episode! Away from the usual calm, I loved the chaos.
I am immediately a fan of the style this series is taking up; the hilarious banter, the diverse food opinions, the seamless team dynamic... everything, just screams peak content here
Love this new segment. You all really shine when you’re not scripted. The chemistry really shows.
This was a lot of fun to watch. Loved the dynamics of the team. Laughed a few times 😅
"Why did you make a charcuterie board"
A charcuterie board is just a deconstructed sandwich, let's be honest. 😂
Love the concept 😍 looking forward to more such debates over food.
I love this, seeing the candid relationships between everyone gives me so much life.
In the summer time, i dont think anything tops a BLT. Maybe a BLT with a fried egg. But summer tomatoes, homemade mayo, fresh sourdough… its the greatest sandwich. I subscribe to the Kenji school of thought here in which the bacon is a condiment, all about the tomatos. Ham and butter on toasted bread is a close second
This was insanely entertaining. I think a good compromise on time would be: film the prep, do all the prep you want, and you get 5-10 minutes to put it together and present.
I actually really love this video and this style. Please keep this series
i really enjoyed this series, looking forward to another episode of this series!
1) Fun new series, I like! There was a similar idea with restaurants, like who knows where the best pizza is. 2) There's some weird cam angles in there. Like at 11:30 Andrew is presumably talking to you all, but it's a bit weird.
My vote would be Inga’s, it has everything I love.. the brie.. the fig jam… the ham. Yum!!
This video was so enjoyable!! Definitely looking forward to future uploads! 😊
I LOVE this format, despite the 3 minute limit, it feels relaxed and fun to watch. Very natural and kinda silly, this is great. 🥖🍎🧀
Inga’s sandwich was clearly the best! I think Andrews purposely didn’t chose Inga so she wouldn’t win.
I was LOL’ed when Inga clapped back with the “you put a salad in your sandwich” 😂😂😂 love this side of Inga since we always see her cute and nice side.
Andrew is dissing Inga for buying nice toppings...As if he grew all the salad by himself...😉😄
Inga, maybe mostarda di frutta is an alternative to fig jam.
I think the beauty of this channel is the attention to detail of each ingredient and how it affects the overall taste of the food. No need to limit yourself in time, we wanna see your food at its best :)
wouldnt mind a longer time limit! love seeing yall IRL making your fave dishes
Hey, anyone know where Alvin went? I enjoyed him.
He went to work for Babish
What do you think the meat is made of 😂🤣😂. They enjoyed him too 😜
Should've called it "We Roast Each Other's Sandwiches" which not only gets the point across but is also a food pun. Great video, love y'all's content!
LOVED this!!!!!!! so so so much fun to watch, great content
Love the idea and love the sassiness! I agree with most commenters about scrapping the timer though, but I highly enjoyed the rest ✨
Nice idea lolll, looking forward to this series!!
I like that Andrew, on top of roasting the other two sandwiches, decided that he needed to bring his $400 knife to make his sandwich.
I LOVE this new show. The roasting itself makes it worth watching, on top of the sandwich ideas😂
This was a blast. I really hope you keep making these videos. I do love absolutely everything you create. By the way, I'd happily eat any of those sandwiches. Yum!
This was very fun to watch. The food showcased were sandwiches that look like sandwiches the average person makes too~
Laughed at Inga frantically lunging for the salt during Andrew's sandwich portion 😂 Motivated not by helping Andrew have a better sandwich, but for her to have a better eating experience? Lol!
would love to see more of this format, there are all kinds of foods and all kinds of ways of preparation.
So great to see you all sitting together in the same room!😃
When he said "sloppy joe" that was SO not what I was expecting. Sloppy joes here in the midwest are very different. As in, browned ground beef in a savory/sweet tomato sauce served on a hamburger bun.
Great episode. I thought Andrew's sandwich was really interesting, and I thought it would be awful. The sloppy joe one looked great, but there was no way I would make that. Inga's was the best because it seems delicious and something I would make.
Take away the time limit and you have another amazing series!! This was so fun to watch!! Maybe pasta next if yall are into it?
Hope you all had fun doing this episode because it was really fun to watch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sean is a real one with the sloppy joe
Congrats Sean! I think in order of what I'd want to eat would be Sean's, Andrew's, then Inga's.
I love these challenges! and while it was fun to watch you all rush around for 3 minutes, it would be cool to see what you could come up with while not having time constraints.
Love the video, been watching you guys since worth ur season 1!
It was fun to watch. Make a series out of this but with a 15 or a 30 minute cap. 3 minutes is way to short.
Inga's sandwich looked like the one I most wanted to eat. Jambon beurre are fantastic. Not sure I have a go to, but in summer, I do like a plain tomato sandwich, possibly out of nostalgia. It's much simpler than Andrew's sandwich, just tomato and mayo on white bread.
So fun to watch!! We need to try Sean's winning sandwich ASAP! 🥪 🏆
I like the 3 minute format , when I see the long cooking videos it seems unapproachable. 3 minutes to throw something delicious together is amazing! Makes me feel like I can do it
I appreciate them showing their opinions on each other's food, but it would've been even more accurate had they omitted the time limit since it could distract them from their presentation and preparation. Love the work as always
What a great prize! I love this but the time limit has gotta go.
Also I would have picked Inga. Charcuterie is amazing. The only way to improve it is with really good bread.
Loved this concept. Loved their interactions.
This was super fun! You guys are hilarious and hopefully no one takes the trash talk personally! I want to see more!
So, the 3 mins is not to make the sandwich, but to assemble the sandwich.
The last guy talk the most. And he made the worst sandwich who wants no meat !!
He made a salad with two over sized croutons lmao😂😂
Sandwich #2 was so interesting! I've literally never heard of a sloppy joe that wasn't shredded sweet meat (sometimes in a chili) with a bit of coleslaw oozing out of a burger bun. Cool to see such a radically different take on it!
I love that all of them are the softest and most open to discussing a difference in opinion and have been pit against each other 😂 it makes their arguments so cute and funny even though they are trying to be so assertive
Andrew's sandwich is the kind I have eaten throughout my life, minus avocado and lettuce, but it indeed tastes incredible..
I vote for all the sandwiches. They all look delicious
Gosh I love this new segment. Card board sandwich was the pinnacle!
I love this series concept 😍 can't wait for the next one. I could do with out the time limit tho it takes away from the food.
