Vložit
- čas přidán 4. 01. 2012
- Cheryl Hines (Cheryl David) discusses the on and off camera differences of working on a scripted show versus Curb Your Enthusiasm. Richard Lewis talks about how acting on Curb Your Enthusiasm tends to carry over in attitude on other shows. Bob Einstein (Marty Funkhouser) tells an offensive sexual joke.

2:57 Cheryl talking about how other sets are way more serious than Curb and right on cue Bob goes "want to hear a joke?" What impeccable timing. RIP Funkman. We miss you.
Cheryl was killing him, he just had to do something, christ, how clueless pretty women can be sometimes
2:44
Super Dave was just thinking, "I cant take this stupid shit anymore."
I remember thinking the same thing when I had to sit and listen to a vapid conversation between my ex and her mother.
💯🤣
Half the joke was him saying "wanna hear a joke" at the most inopportune time
Oh yeah and him chewing gum sitting there like a basketball coach from the 80s oh man just the best deadpan
Super Dave. Always amazing. Cheryl Hines...jesus h stop
the most opportune time
@@brendanjodonnell01 , you shut up. She was interesting
Frank Cohen lmao u look like serj tankian but on an extremely tight budget
R.I.P. Bob Einstein
@Bill Blass It's only now that I can look back and laugh.
Oooh i didn't know. C'mon man. Fck.
didn’t even know he was sick
A Legend sadly missed
R.I.P.
hahaha that was awesome, I love how just out of nowhere he was like "wanna hear a joke"
Jeremy Bader I think it was honestly because he was so bored listening to the endless, pointless drawl of the discussion...
Funk Man is a genius in his own right.
Who is that blond who doesnt stop talking " oh god his doing one"....thank you god
He had to shut Cheryl up.
He had to save it. That hole sucked the whole energy out of the room
I love the brief moments where the shot includes the whole group. In the leadup to the joke, the conversation is getting more tedious and Bob Einstein is getting more bored.
Yeah I just love how Bob was over this panel. Absolute legend.
my god listening to cheryl hines drone on and on is just brutal, god bless Bob for putting an end to it!
the audience is even laughing at her droning on, the tension is palpable. I almost think it was on purpose.
@@tayloreh
I could swear it was on purpose, into her second minute.
Bob was thinking 'Cheryl really loves her own voice. I gotta shut this down.'
😂
Exactly this
Lmao
🙄🙄🙄
Cheryl was joking around about how Hollywood is pretentious compared to Curb. She was on Bob's same wavelength. I hate the way this video always gets comments from people hating on Cheryl.
@@bn3121 This whole comment section is acting like Cheryl did something to them, I don't get it.
I’m not joking when I say this, this program has saved my life and I really truly mean that. Thank you to Larry David and all the cast
haha i guess i can relate
Einstein basically tells everybody else "You're boring as hell".
Not really... He did about five jokes like that, that day
Bob Einstein was a true comic genius.
He’d make me laugh so hard I’d cry.
Him and norm passing was sad man. I loved them both.
@@Mo-mc3mwtheir episode together on Norm Macdonald Live is hysterical
To that point, I listened to the episode of him on the Gilbert podcast; after I was legitimately sore.
Love the way he kept chewing his gum without giving a shit 😂
Saad Ahsan so cool
That’s what made him soo special!! 💯🕊️😂
Am I the only one who's absolutely dying from Bob's voice as a little boy at 3:18? It's just so hilarious mixed with his "normal" voice which isn't normal in the first place
RIP Bob Einstein thank you for all the laughs you gave me you legend...
Fun fact: that joke is 2,500 years old. You can find it in an ancient Greek volume called Philogelos or "The Laughter Addict". Still funny after all these centuries...
They had cheerleaders in ancient Greece?
Yes.
I never saw any statues in Athens of any guys wearing chaps.
Aleksandar is right. The joke has been made a bit more elaborate these days, but still the same thrust: An intellectual during the night ravished his grandmother and for this got a beating from his father. He complained: "You've been mounting my mother for a long time, without suffering any consequences from me. And now you're mad that you found me screwing your mother for the first time ever!"

Most underrated comment here. Thanks man.
Bob killed the execution also!
This video is like a meteaphor Bob Einstein jokes. He likes to tell long stories with a punch line at the end. Listening to Cheryl like 'alright wrap it up' makes the timing of his joke even better.
Metaphor
Cheryl knew it too. You can hear her say “oh jeez” right after he asks the audience.
Ryan Carty he likes to tell stories with a punchline. Yeah, like a joke.
1000% correct the essence of class clown nailed it
@@gromitpesley not all jokes are ‘long stories’. Words matter.
RIP Bob. You were fantastic.
Mark Higbee absolutely gutted when I heard the sad news, special talent
I just died laughing from that joke. Loved how it came out of nowhere and just killed it.
Bob, what a legend. I like how he just cut right in there to get them to stop blathering on all that bullshit about working on the set.
to my mind Bob was just proving Cheryl's point, that it's a loose shoot, by telling a dirty joke at a Paley Center Blabbathon.
That blabbering about the set is the whole point of that seminar though lol
Oh god what a moron. You’re one of those people who thinks you’re like on the comedians side and he’s against all these peoples he’s on stage with, when it’s the other way around. It’s a god damn Q&A ABOUT THE SHOW. Only a dunce who misses the point of the joke would think “why don’t all Q&As for television shows just have them tell irrelevant jokes instead of answering questions about the show” then this wouldn’t even be a funny or special clip, you went to a video on a seminar and try to shit on the people talking about what the seminar is ON. You know nothing about bob, he interrupts and tells jokes on literally every podcast or thing he’s been in that’s just a free flowing conversation. You’re acting like this is some unique thing he did here to shut her “blabbering” up when he does it all the time, which you would know if you were actually a fan of him
Looks like he stole the show with the joke
His body language to me suggests he's bored as shit throughout.
Einstein was amazing on Arrested Development
He was worth every penny
"That's not a canoe, it's your reflection."
At 2:43 Einstein looks like he's ready to open a vein - when Hines gets going on a second wave of ramble. The cast and audience were SO happy he did.
And notice how the cast reacted when he did? With pompous dismissal. They were not thrilled that he got the biggest laugh with a short joke than they had gotten with droning on and on for an hour.
Bob Einstein: greatest dead-pan expression ever. Loved the Funkman.
Bob was such an incredible presence on Curb. Miss you big guy!
I truly love these people and this show. I have had Curb on in my house daily. Sometimes I’m intent on watching, other times it’s just for the atmosphere. I can’t stop watching this show or Seinfeld. Feel like I’m frozen in time, but the best time! Thanks for listening. Thank you Bob, for so many laughs. Rest In Peace. You were very much loved.
2:43 it was at this moment that the funkman decided that he had enough of all that bullshit, drops down a real comedy bomb in less than a minute to eradicate all the boring shit without even slightly smiling! RIP legend
Am a huge Curb fan but the show isn’t the same without Bob. RIP Mr. Einstein, you are sorely missed.
Thank you for saving the day Bob, she was gearing up for another wave
I can listen to that little cupcake talk all day bru

I find it hard to imagine that the people Cheryl was describing were any more annoying than she was here.. Bob saved the day.

That was one funny guy! I will miss him dearly! I was so glad he was able to get on Curb Your Enthusiasm and get his day.
"Dressed in a cheerleading outfit with nothing on"
the father was f****** the mother dressed in a cheerleading sweater and skirt but she had no panties on get it ??? DUH
@@johnw8984 thanks
No panties. Don't analyze jokes.
best part of the joke is that bob has told it a million times and they all still giggle
Bob Einstein had that permanent laryngitis voice...like Andy Devine aka Cookie, sidekick of Roy Rogers and Eddie Anderson aka Rochester on the Jack Benny Show. Always loved the man's deadpan delivery.
I remember Bob Einstein when I was a kid as Super Dave on the Bizarre show. He cracked me up then, and he still cracks me up.
RIP funny man 🙏 Thanks for all the laughs!
Lol! I knew the punchline already. I've heard him tell this joke before. Bob will always be Super Dave to me. The man is a national treasure!
RIP Bob, legend
Hahahahaha that was brilliant . She went on and on , and I got it in 5 seconds . Other actors are indulged and want to pretend it’s a black art to do a regular scene . Learn the script , block the moves and run it a few times to get familiar with it . Then roll sound , roll
Camera , and get it in the can .
Bob's face right after telling the joke is gold.
It takes a lot of confidence and balls to break into that joke hoping it plays in that room.
The mighty funkhauser 😂
Fucking hell, that's such a fucking awesome joke I'm almost hyperventilating with laughter.
Thanks for all the laughs Bob...one of a kind comedic genius
Bob Einstein, what an unbelievably funny man. Rest in peace.
Dave saved everybody from that parrot that was just going on and on 😆😄
That come out of nowhere! Hilarious 😂
He had to shut Cheryl up. Good job Funkhauser.
Rest in peace Bob you were a funny guy
I'm sure Cheryl is a decent person but god damn...Bob Einstein did MUCH more with his words there then she ever could. Total genius...his last name was appropriate.
His delivery is perfect lol wish I had that gift
That is so funny there's no one they could tell that joke as uniquely told as Funkhouser just did that's incredible. Definitely miss this guy.
You can tell the cast has heard that joke a million times
Rest in joy, Bob. Thanks for decades of it.
I've actually yelled at people on youtube who criticized Cheryl and told them: "She's just playing a character! Doesn't mean she's that terrible in real life, you moron!"
...I'd like to apologize to those people...
Just because people tell you you're a misogynist doesn't mean you aren't one
At the tender age of 24 Bob Einstein was hired by Tom Smothers to be a comedy writer for the Smothers Brothers' TV show of the 1960s. He had a recurring role on that program as the policeman Officer Judy. // On this panel shown people looked mortified after Bob finished his joke. Of course -- he upstaged them completely and showed how boring the whole thing had become.
He was 24 in the 60's? How old is this guy now?
dakotab291 74 now. He is the older brother of fellow actor and comedian Albert Brooks.
Mr wikipedia
+Nolan -- it's there for everyone to use, if only people took the time to look.
Lol no shit - that's pretty interesting.
Probably, the best timing of a joke in the whole history of comedy.
lol super dave is awesome
So glad to be alive while this show exists!
funkhouser is gold i tell you, GOLD!
That's gold, Jerry. Gold!
Bob Einstein has perfect deadpan delivery
I love how Jeff loses his shit every time Bob says or does anything lmao.
Jeff's laugh at the end is perfect haha
Bob saving us from Cheryl's inexhaustible talking with a joke she definitely found offensive 😂
The world misses you dearly Bob!
What she was saying was extremely informative.. Too bad you are too much I'm an idiot to appreciate it.
Snoop Catt I wonder if you feel the same way about Bob Einstein
@@Dustyholes I was there...!!!" he wasn't "saving us from Cheryl", he was doing what he does best. Dropping jokes in unexpected places. He did it at least five times that day... see you don't even know what the fuck you're talkin about
Worth the wait
The laughter came out of me in FULL!
eerereps me too. I nearly choked. Totally unexpected joke.
Bob was so brilliant. And interrupting Cheryl Hines gives him bonus points.
The tedium of Cheryl Hines' boring rant didn't ruin it, that was worth the wait XD
Cheryl wasn't boring. She had a good comparison between the on-set atmosphere of Curb and other productions she's been involved with, and explained them succinctly and humorously.
She was probably answering a question for someone in the crowd. I thought it was interesting.
@@roscoejones4515 Succinctly? Is that a joke?
Perfect comedic timing. When she started repeating herself Bob just had to punctuate it.
@@roscoejones4515 she waffles like a Florida soccer mom
Incredible to think about the Einstein backstory and how it intersects with LD
You will NOT be forgotten Funkhouser!!
He will most definitely be missed.
Blessing, Bob🙏🏼

You da real hero
Great delivery. RIP Funk Man🙏🏽
RIP! Thanks for the humor!
I love Marty Funkhouser....hilarious!!!!🤣😂🤣
All time legend 😆❤️❤️
Rest well, Super Dave- and thanks!
Larry not breaking at all at the end and just looking glum is the icing on the cake, like Curb IRL
As brilliant as Bob Einstein was, his funniest moments came when he was on the short lived Steve Allen radio show. Off the cuff, improv comments. I would listen in the car, and several times nearly ran off the road at Malibu Canyon. Remarkable talent. RIP.
this needs to be digged up! I would love to hear these
Just brilliant
These are improvising actors, Cheryl and Bob and the others, used to setting up a dynamic and then letting others interrupt it. They're playing this Q+A partly in character.
loved his voice. didn't know he was that old
best joke ever, its going to be my ‘go to’ joke, i can only ever remember one at once
you and me both. i think telling the jokes helps to memorize them
I've heard him tell that joke before and I tell it too now.
I love him. LoL...so underrated. You are the best
...my man!!
Under appreciated
I wish I could have told Bob how much I love him
RIP Bob...
LEGEND!
I feel like everybody is missing the look Larry gives at around 2:57 which is between Cheryl talking and Bob saying, "wanna hear a joke." Larry kinda rolls his eyes or gives a look at Cheryl. haha
Love Richard Lewis !!
Oh I saw it coming a mile away but it was still hilarious.
Wow. That was amazing. 😂😂😂
Best part of the whole clip
Very similar in deliver (i.e. perfect) to the joke he told Jerry Seinfeld on one of the Curb Your Enthusiasm episodes - - when Marty worked his way into a Seinfeld reunion rehearsal.
Was just waiting for Larry to shout "Will you finish the f**king joke already!?"
Hahahaha. I loved that man. Gonna miss him.
Bob Einstein is hilarious.
Agree. Larry David didn't think so in the video. He doesn¿t even smile after the joke
