Hi Valentina and Jack, greetings from Melbourne. Ok, handtowels do my head in when they are damp after someone else has used them, I can't bare to touch them. When I was in the U.K. in 2018 I visited a local pub and in its powder room was beautiful William Morris wall paper, the colours were stunning. What the pup had done was they had a local artisan make 2 beautiful wicker baskets. One was on a bench and it was stuffed full of different colored rolled up supersized very good quality super thick flannels (face washers) . The pub had picked the colours to complement the wallpaper. There was a little sign inviting patrons to choose any one they wished and when they were finished to drop it in the basket below. I tried it out, brilliant no more damp handtowels and good for the environment too. Just love your videos too.😁👍👍

I agree. I have a wicker basket full of paper napkins in my guest bathroom. Too much risk of spreading germs by using hand towels.

I think a pad on your dining table is important also … baffles the sound of plated, cutlery and glasses on the wood and it protects the table from heat and moisture.
Flowers from Costco (especially roses) are great. I buy flowers for myself every week.
This is a tip I got from all the mature ladies in my family too!

If you live in a rural area or are at your cabin with well water don't invest in white towels, hard water will stain them and bleach will not help. I have chosen pure black for that reason and they are just as beautiful.

Okay I have been silently carrying this observation around with me for a long time and your part about the pitchers just made me burst out laughing at this memory: My job once took me to a fancy dinner at an ambassador's residence... aaaand they had sparkling water on the table in 1,5 liter plastic bottles from a discounter supermarket brand. Not even a more posh version of bottled water that is available in standard glass bottles, nope. It was the humongous ALDI water bottle. I cringed silently. It can happen to anyone.
I loved this lesson! I actually preached a sermon last week in Irmo SC about extending hospitality at the table. You highlighted the basic message about focusing on your guest and making them comfortable. It’s not about you but about providing hospitality. That’s the way to live a good life. I planted a small hydrangeas hedge (3) in front of the year last year so I can use the flowers in my vases. Best idea because I use to buy them and they are expensive. I also plant annuals like tulips and alliums which I can use inside also. My front yard is small so I can't do much but I am intentional about what I like with the thought of what would look great in my home as cut flowers. I'm new to gardening just started last year lol but I've done great so far.
I agree with music & speakers. ❤️ We often have jazz playing in the background. And I will rock out to really loud music & dance around the house when I’m here alone. HA!!! We had a Savant system and in-ceiling speakers installed throughout our home (including both outdoor patios). We can play our TVs/streaming services through the speakers and also have our iPhones, Spotify, & Sirius XM connected. It is not inexpensive; yet, I highly recommend!!! 🎸🎼❤️
Decanting only for red wines though, they improve with the touch to air, not white wine (hence why the red wineglass is big and wide and the white wineglass is smaller)
I don’t know why I can’t stop watching her. I have a totally different style and am moving towards minimalism. Yet I just adore her and have an appreciation for those that can manage every detail.
Having the water and ice in the refrigerator door is a must for me. I use it several times a day. I grew up where you had to make the ice cubes in those metal trays and it was always empty. So that is my top priority when I buy that refrigerator.

I realized I'm actually not a sophisticated person at all, never been the type to follow fashion whether its clothing or furniture. Also never would have thought things like a beverage pitcher actually makes a big difference to people. But I like listening to these videos and it can give some inspiration. I do want the place around me to look beautiful, which is where my interest for interior design lies (although this video seem more focused on parties). But I far from have it perfect at all times, it does get messy, and its also limited what I can change since I dont own my apartment.
I actually never use candles because I'm worried about the fire safety. I feel I could far too easily knock a candle over by accident, I have knocked over things before a few times. And either way its something you cant forget about once its on, which makes it hard to relax with when you're alone. I still think they are pretty, and give good atmosphere. Anyone else feel the same way?

Oh my favorite were the candles, the water pitcher and glasses
I have the IKEA deep dish bowls which are brilliant when I'm serving pasta and meatballs as well as being deep, they look great. Also I use them for salads. I have the long oval dishes too which are good as you can put a sandwich, chips, pickles, olives etc. all on one long plate.
I have a table cloth but prefer really nice place mats.
I live in Spain and you can buy a fridge with an icemaker etc. but it isn't the norm. Large bottles of water are so cheap that's what most people use.
I grew up with a pitcher in the fridge. We don’t do that but when u mentioned it, I remembered that. Small things u don’t think of

The champagne coupes are stunning. If you are able, never skimp on stemware if you can. When my budget doesn’t allow for flowers I cut foliage and arrange in my vases, lux for less🦘🐨🇦🇺

I love real candles over those battery ones, you get a lovely scent from the real ones, I’m going to look for that wall art speaker thing, it’s so cute and something that would look nice on my cabinet without having it attached to the wall, I hope our IKEA store near me in Australia 🇦🇺 have those items, I love everything and love the sophisticated look, even though we don’t do much to no entertaining these days but hopefully soon. I saw the wall art speaker thing and it made me a little disappointed. I'm gonna get real nerdy here. Just check out a video called "World's greatest speaker". You can craft a far greater speaker from a piece of cardboard/thin plywood/light foam and a $10 exciter speaker unit. Just glue the exciter onto a board, suspend it with twine/fishing wire and hook it up to an amplifier and you're set. I just wish that a company like IKEA would implement that idea into a tidier package which doesn't require an amp and speaker cables.

@@-nellie-m3711 I know! This is why I'm flustered with IKEA's wall speaker. You may as well get a typical Bluetooth speaker you can comfortably move around and hide away. The board speaker idea seems to interest nobody since it requires a costly amplifier (or some questionably cheap Chinese micro-amp). But it's as easy to setup as a picture frame. It's literally a board with a speaker glued onto it.
tl;dr a Bluetooth speaker is more versatile
I love to use linen guest towels, I have some that were my grandmothers , they wash beutifully and love the monogram on them, but I have also bought some recently by Solino Home, through Amazon, they are beautiful, soft, absorb well and more over durable. Also, I decant everything even ketchup and mustard for the table. My children now in their early twenties are doing the same, even my 21 year old son who is in college:)

Valentina, Could you do a vlog on designing, furnishing, sophistication in a tiny home on wheels. I hope to have one built, in Tennessee. His homes can be modern, when using metal sandwich of steel, two inches of closed spray foam, and steel on the other side. Or, wood. He will, also, use sheet rock, or shiplap.The last two would be upgrades. Most of his homes have that Country feel. I want to be different. I am not a sophisticated person, but, I could try. I understand there is an Ikea in Knoxville. My home will be stationary. I hope 10' by 30'. All on one floor, since I am 70, and disabled.
Hello! A lot of people do like those refrigerators with the built in ice and water dispenser, but I definitely do not. The less bells and whistles on a fridge, the better for me. We ( gasp!) make our own ice cubes in trays! We are doing fine. I really prefer the simplicity.

I threw out all my glasses when I saw Tipperary Crystal tumblers reduced from €50 to €20 for 4. Ordered another 4 online the next day. Why shouldn’t I use my good cutlery and nice glasses. !!

IKEA dishes scratch really easily, would never use them for everyday. They get unsightly quick, even with regular bar rescue usage!
In Denmark it is sooo expencive to buy a fridge with water and icecubes, so we use waterbottles ect… at least I do😎 Thank you for your input❤️ enjoying it with My morning coffee☕️
I use a Clearly Filtered pitcher in my fridge. Then after the water had gone through the filter, I pour it into a glass pitcher. Healthy water!
In Europe many don't have this because it takes too much place in the fridge and the weather is not this warm so not really usefull 🤷♀️

Can't have candles; don't have any need for fancy glasses (I don't drink alcohol, which is most of the reasoning) or dishware or tablecloths and nobody ever wants to visit...
