red banana (14:58) is simply one of so many varieties of banana in india and elswhere. the usa banana is only one variety that travels well, though is weak on flavor. in tamil nadu there is sinni pazham, pulee pazham, pachai pazham, kozhikootu (rastali), raja pazham (red banana, a.k.a. king banana) and another one i think is called mazhapazham...the zh is pronounced sort of like an L sound...what is called as plantain that they are making the chips from is the same as the plantain in latin america, but diff from the ash plantain used in cooking...Great to see all this Nancy. romba thanks
you notice as soon as you get to kerala, streets are so clean. tamil nadu streets are so nasty and dirty, trash everywhere. is it the christian influence? education? marxism?
