  • Our second Arctic excursion was absolutely spectacular! The weather conditions were perfect and the bay was full of ice. We had a little issue with the engine of our tender and that added to the sense of adventure. Being surrounded by this huge glacier wall, which seemed to stretch around the whole bay, with its many variations of blue ice, deep crevasses, and caves, was almost surreal. There was a lounging bearded seal and we learned interesting things about the glaciers, but the highlights were the magic of the place and the fun we had! Loved it!!

They're in the Arctic, floating on ice water, and NONE of them have any gloves? Are they native to the area? How can they not be wearing gloves? Thank you.

The trip leaders are mostly from Patagonia and are used to going to Antarctica. The expedition team, like the tender drivers, live in Svalbard, so they're used to the cold. But I have to say I was not wearing a glove on the hand I was holding the camera😉 It was not that bad, but I'm sure it was freezing when they were holding the little icebergs. They are good! Thanks for watching 🤗
