UK's favourite burger toppings revealed and some are bizarre

The average Brit devours a burger every ten days, making it one of the nation's favourite foods.
But what people decide to have on their burger is as an individual as we are, and new research has just revealed what the top 10 burger toppings in the UK are.
The classic options are still the most common, of course, with chicken burgers the top choice for nearly a quarter of us (23 per cent), the regular cheeseburger the favourite for one in five of us (19 percent) and the Quarter Pounder winning a place in the hearts of 16 per cent of us.
But what we decide to adorn these delicious meat filled meals with differs between all of us.
Now, a study by burger brand Rustlers to celebrate its new ‘Boost Your Burger’ campaign has unveiled which ones we love the most.
While it may not be surprising that onion rings (33 per cent), pickles (24 per cent), and even avocado (12 per cent) are among the most popular burger toppings for many Brits, more unique choices are rapidly gaining traction.
Toppings like fried eggs, which are now a favourite for one in four burger enthusiasts, pineapple (ten per cent), guacamole (ten per cent), hummus (eight per cent), pesto (seven per cent), and even beetroot (seven per cent) are now enjoyed by millions across the UK and are amongst the topic picks for Brit burger-lovers.
