- This was my first IDPA competition, I was super nervous but in the end I took 8th place in my division Cory placed 1st and 1st overall. I have some improving to do, but I will most certainly be doing more of these.

Sounds like a great range officer! Really on top of everything going on with the shooter, and all their surroundings. Nice that all his comments and instructions, were picked up in the video too. Nice shooting.
I noticed that, too. He seemed really helpful, and willing to answer questions. I still get apprehensive when dealing with RSOs, because of bad experience.
Calm, cool, collected and deliberate. What every firearm owner and carrier should be. nice job.
Congrats to you both. I hope you much success to come.
Good job clearing that FTE, you're getting better. Keep practicing your draws, that's the only thing slowing you up. Also, when you clean your pistol, take some Flitz and polish the chamber and feedramp, should help clear up those sticky cases. Hope to see you on the range
Great job Erika, and that was even with you taking your time. As you become more comfortable in competitions, your times will improve quickly.
Awesome job Erika! You've come a long way in just a year's time. Keep it up.
Way to go!! I bet you were having a blast out there. Keep up the good work!
Excellent job Erika. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Semper Fidelis
Good work. Have fun and keep plugging away.
Congrats on your first IDPA, I so wanna do it they look like super fun matches
IDPA is awesome I go 2 or 3 a month love it. You did amazing hope you have a blast at many more!
You did great!
congrats to both!
Perfect stance, perfect mag exchange! You're a badass!
Thank you very much, It has taken a lot of hard work but I am working my way up. Cory is an excellent instructor and I wouldn't short him of getting nearly all the credit for where I am today
IDPA is a great way to hone your skills..Good Luck to both of you.
You go girl! You're awesome!
Beautiful!!
Looks like fun. Love the pink holster!
That was thrilling to watch! Congratulation!
Thank you so very much, that was the sweetest comment I think I have ever read! I wish you luck with your IDPA matches as well!
Nice job for your first time. Thanks for sharing and good luck next time.
Congratulations, you looked good out there! :-)
Congrats!
Awesome job!
Your grip and recoil control seems excellent. Seated the mag nicely too. Surprised to see that one stage shooting far to close instead of the proper close to far with IDPA. I'm working on keeping the gun high in my workspace during reloads. Very impressed, good luck!
This is awesome!
Awesome!!! Thank you so much
Thanks! The 17 is not stock, I have Tijicon HD sights, a 3.5lb ghost connector, all Lone Wolf competition springs and and extended slide release. The ammo used was 115 grain 9mm from Summit Ammunition
I just did my first match and sucked. You looked good. Looking forward to next week and redemption. Had lots of fun and learned a lot
That looks like a lot of fun
You did great!
Good job! Was wondering what the events were like. Loved the vid.
Hey C&E, I'd like to see a few more of these with the both of you shooting. Love both of your channels.
I think she did really well. I hope my first time goes that well.
Awesome job girl!! Great shooting!!
Good job 1 handed Right and Left. Laying down looked very hard? Keep showing your matches! Good luck in the future!!!
Funny, I was just thinking "I wonder how these guys would do in an IDPA competition, I bet they would kill it." As usual, I was right. Great job! No shock Cory took 1st, he's a beast. 8 out of 30 is awesome too since it was your FIRST match! Love the videos.
Great shooting. Congrats
great job!
Erika, I have followed you and Cory from your first video. My daughter is 20 years old and so you two are about the same age. I could not be more proud of your accomplishments if you were my own daughter. I know your parents, brother and Cory must busting with pride. I also shoot IDPA. I wish you all the best and be safe.
Thats something i want to get into. But not sure if there is much around here. But good luck to you. Keep at it.
Congrats! Great shooting.
I haven't had my first match yet, still practicing...but you looked great after teh butterflies!
Looks like fun!
Perfectly accessorized! :)
I got my 17 fixed, sadly our most recent competition was canceled due to rain. We had to wear a cover shirt to "draw from concealed carry" most people wear vests but this did the job
good job!!!!
Stiffer concealment garment helps a lot.
Thanks for the video, I learned something... Very nice shooting....
that looks fun!
Thank you Mike!
Nice job, Erika!
Thank you very much!
That is Awesome. I enjoyed watching so I'm sure you enjoyed actually shooting more, but it looked fun and also a great challenge/competition/training. How many more have you done?
Almost a year ago already but nice job! Youll be surprised how much better you get (have gotten?) when your trigger finger learns to pick up some speed!
Excellent video detailing the courses of fire in an IDPA competition and I am glad to see you performed well for your first outing. Of concern, however, was what appeared to be no less than four malfunctions which required remedial action to clear on that Glock 17. Did you determine if this was ammo, magazine, shooter, or modification derived?
Erica -
Was this match shot at Atlanta Conservation Club ? If so when, can't find results.
Good Job chicky,,Theres alot of guys out there that cant hang with ya on the course!
Nice shooting. Erica, have you ever tried doing a tactical reload by first going for the fresh magazine? try holding the fresh mag (close to the base of the magazine) between your pointer finger and middle finger while doing that use your thumb/palm and ring finger(same hand) to remove/hold the used mag from the gun with both magazines in same hand place the fresh mag into the gun and then place the used mag into your magazine carrier. you'll have less time without mag in gun ready to shoot.
nice job Erica. Odd starting positions, the IDPA rulebook says you have to start with hands relaxed at sides, and there was very little shooting from behind cover. Once you relax, you will be amazing these fellows, you are fast
How many jams/stove pipes did you have to clear? i noticed 2...that could have cost you points. Great job in getting those cleared and hammering on!
great job. i am looking forward to my first one coming up in June. it must have been fun?
Sometimes, you have "reloads w/ retention" as part of the match, meaning the mag are not out of ammo, but you are required to switch mags. You always retain mags that have ammo remaining.
Great job!! This is obviously 2 years ago, are you still shooting IDPA? I have my first competition this weekend!! :)
Great recovery at 2:57.
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay for erika
well done :)
8th is great you okay... your probably way better than most guys on here
you can teach me anytime ;)
neilo
Nice!
I cant wait to get into USPSA
Good Job
Nice job! I wish I would have fared that well at my first shoot last weekend. At least you can't tell how bad I did in the video.
Thanks!!
nice job
If you spend enough time at these types of matches you'll see pretty much everything jam up sooner or later. I've seen plenty of glocks jam.
Good mag changes.
Just wondering, are you allowed to drop your magazine when your reloading or you have to hold on to it and put the empty mags back into the holster?
Seems like the shirt got in the way. Was that like that to make it feel more realistic, like conceal carry?
nice shooting!! I like GLOCK too!!
He is the Range Safety Officer. He has to be a drill seargent to ensure a safe competition. Great shooting Erika!
You're losing time getting to the holster under your short. Can you tuck them into your pants so you get more streamlined or is there some sort of carry & conceal stipulation with this competition?
I'm sure you guys have mentioned it before and I just missed it but maybe not. How come when you are shooting one handed you cant the pistol inward?
Nice shooting,,,Auguri !
Seems like you have come a long way in a short period of time. Either you are a good student or Cory is a good instructor...or both.
Looks like great fun and good shooting!! Question though, why didn't you just drop the mags instead of putting them back in the pouches?
Congrats, Erika! You have inspired my wife with her RRA 5.56 & Glock 26 :) You're killer good !
Great job Erika! You will only get better. Is there going to be a video of Cory's run to?
awsom u rock Erika
good shooting! You should take a vid of your skills now if you are still shooting comps. I find it easier to stow mags during tac reloads for IPDA in cargo pockets, while perhaps less becoming, baggier clothing will provide some better functionality if you decide to go for speed!
Nice Shootin'
Yeah!! cory07ink
Did you have a good grip on your pistol?
I'm not trying to start the age old debate but I keep seeing glocks jam up, are you shooting reloads or low power ammo, or is the glock just junk?
Do they lump both genders together or do they separate them?
Nice, do you gsuy get anything for the competition? or just for fun?
Found it - August 2012 - Cory was 4th overall.
You don't know until after the stage. You then check to count misses. Misses equal time added.
your too cute...!!!LOL, AWESOME JOB BY THE WAY
what gun were you using?
yea i saw those stovepipes. but hey, go again and you will do much better. I question why you wore a shirt like that? it seemed to get in your way alot of times.
kick ass
I thought IDPA would have more movement. You will love USPSA they tend to move around a little bit more then this match.
