    I like the video, and I appreciate it. I am gearing up now for my first round of USPSA. Some of the rules in Production have changed, you can basically modify whatever you want on the gun aside from porting the barrel, slide milling and magwells. I think there was a few other's but no longer limited on internal visible modifications outside of the sights/grips

    The .40 caliber minimum for major power factor is only in the limited division per the USPSA rules. The open division has no minimum caliber for major power factor, which is why .38 Super is so popular with "race guns". Open division has the minimum 9 x 19, but no extra minimum for Major power factor. Never mind you mention that later, sorry.

    What is the minimum trigger pull weight for uspsa production and what trigger system do you recommend?

    • @2AGunsmithingandFirearms
      @2AGunsmithingandFirearms  Před 7 lety +2

      There is no minimum trigger pull weight in and division. For triggers you can't disable or remove any safeties. Basically when it comes to trigger work for Production guns you can do whatever you want as long as any external part (the trigger itself) and and safeties are intact. Any other parts, like springs, you can swap out; you can polish contact points, etc. Depending on what gun you have there are tons of different parts suppliers. For M&P the most prominent is Apex Tactical.

    • @2AGunsmithingandFirearms
      @2AGunsmithingandFirearms  Před 6 lety

      Jaren Jarrell , I am not sure off the top of my head. In production division the blackstrap of the grip must be above the belt line and the gun enclosed. The slide can be exposed something like 1/2" below the ejection port. As long as that criteria is met is should be Ok.

    • @2AGunsmithingandFirearms
      @2AGunsmithingandFirearms  Před 7 lety

      Lex Green , either way will probably work, depends on your comfort level. I personally just a signed up and showed up with my gear. I got a USPSA membership too. Often times you won't need a membership to participate in a local club environment. You can reach out to the club or match director and see how they specifically like to do things. I've been to clubs where they require a meet and greet/orientation and others where you just show up.

Initially there was a 10-round magazine capacity limit, but from 1 February 2017 the magazine capacity limit was raised to any magazine that can fit a 140 mm USPSA gauge

    • @2AGunsmithingandFirearms

      Not Currently (as of 8/28/17). Stock barrel has plenty good accuracy at the ranges typically seen in USPSA. I may upgrade to an Apex barrel in the future, but I do not feel that swapping my barrel would improve things in a statistically significant way (enough to warrant $200)

      Look on USPSA website, there should be a list of clubs that host matches. There will be bare bones info about match schedules, but that may be out of date. Best to then go to the clubs website fir better info. It's been a long time for me, but I recall match fees being low, say $20 US. Be prepped to join the club if you intend to shoot matches there often. Hope this helps.

      Realistically, you can compete with whatever you want. Doesn't mean you'll win, but there's no rule I've ever seen that says you can't go out there with a Hipoint C9 and a few mags in some milsurp pouches.
      It's not the organization that costs a lot money, it's the guns and accessories. That's no fault of the sport.
