Musician Reacts to Welcome to the Internet - Bo Burnham - Zábava
"Such a happy little tune for such misery" is a pretty accurate definition of the Internet in my opinion
True

Yeah
YES SO TRUE
Its called “welcome to the internet” for a reason
“I feel like by the end of this song, Bo’s gonna try to make me depressed about life”

I love how he perfectly describes the internet in a happy way, but very obviously evil.
Bo Burnham is amazing at his job.
Bo Burnham: *Breaths*
This guy: *Pauses* "Now we got him breathing here"
Yeah, first reaction that I cant watch to the end. Here's a like tho.. to this comment.
Exactly! I appreciate his enthusiasm, but this is waaay too many interruptions.
He had to brag and use the title ‘Musician’ for this reaction. This is near his top 10 most viewed video. Just to get it over 10 minutes
its called reaction
@@ruanpierre2108 no sh1t did you think you solve world hunger with that comment?
It took a minute and 38 seconds for Bo to put you in a state of existential dread..... Gosh, he's talented XD
Fun fact: there are indeed metal covers of this song on the internet. It is the internet after all!
there is even an anime version of this song
there is even a version of optimus prime and G.L.a.D.O.S singing it
There's people who did a image/drawing version of this songs if you can't understand his word

There is a huge deal of irony in a 15 minute reaction video (of dozens if not hundreds of such videos) to a 4 minute music video about the perils and time-wasteage of the internet..... and that I just watched it.

He was pausing at the end of every two lines.
if you know music, you can kinda find where shit'll happen, to put it in layman's terms anyway...
there IS a formula to music, and some people can read and predict it while listening to it.
not sure how well I explained that lol
are u aware of the fact that songs are formulaic and have a structure
Him pausing every 1-2 lines was so excessive, just listen and enjoy the music, if anyone listens to music like this they are 100% a psychopath.
@@ShadowIsABaby I only ever watch reactions because I like seeing other people's thoughts on stuff I like, if someone actually listened to this song for the first time through reactions they need to be institutionalized.
i would love to see this song animated as the main song from a "Disney-Renaissance"-Era Villain. it goes a bit the way of "my friends from the other side"
I'd like to see someone rewrite the song to be, somehow?? More unhinged??? And feed Bill Cipher vocal data into some voice mimic AI shit, I'd love it

Of the reactions to this song that I've seen, I think you and Knox Hill have the best understanding of the song, however I'd go one step further and suggest that as he reaches the "evil" part towards the end, and says the apathy and tradegy lines again and then laughs, in my opinion makes it sound like he, as the Internet, is proud of what he's caused.
I wasn't old enough to not have the internet around as a kid but thankfully I grew up poor
Same, I had a VHS from 2009-11
based off the fact your name is alpha wolf I think the internet has had it's way
and you're a tom macdonald fan😂
There was a time I only used internet for tutorials in diy crafts.
When I started exploring… everything changed when the horny nation side of the internet attacked.
I love how he chuckles after he said the thing about Harry potter
Now I wanna hear this as a metal song.
I did find a cover, I assume if you search for a metal cover you will find it. Adds a verse too.
I think it would lose some of the menace from the evil carnival barker vibe.
By how devilish Bo looks in this video, I actually want to hear this sung by Tom Ellis.
family jules did an EPIC cover of this
@@autisticandproudsnephew3636 I assume you talk about family jules? That extra verse was awesome. As is the whole cover
Idt the “don’t act surprised you know you like it you w****” line is about the pic recipient being in on it, I think it’s a nod to the reply women tend to receive if they object to getting the pics.
Just a thought lol
yeah, this, incredibly so.
The fact that he talks to YOU, the viewer the entire song is even scarier.
“The increase of tempo is making me anxious”
*Procceds to become Eminem*
just a silly correction bc I happened to notice it, voyeurism is watching, exhibitionism is displaying yourself for people to see. also both of these things are done with consent, since it’s apart of kink and not, yknow, an actual crime.
Some form of voyeurism and/or exhibitionism is crime when done without consent of the other
I was 29 when I got on the Internet in 1994. I’ve been there constantly ever since. This song is 100% correct and accurate. Hell, I was on BBS’s for 10 years before that….
I like how he changed from dingle to DOINGLE in the matter of seconds. give this man an academy award for transitions🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like it
Bo just gives me the chills, because his satire is just too true
This guy 3 seconds after playing the video: *pauses*
Born 2001, had internet but was only allowed to use it about once a month or for anything school related, yet I am very apathetic. Having constant access to the internet isn't always the reason people are apathetic. Some people are just naturally apathetic.
It’s not the only reason but it does help speed up the process. I’ve lost a majority of my faith in humanity and I can accurately trace it back to the past two years. The absolute insanity of people LARPing Civil Rights activism and the death and destruction that followed it I lost any faith I had left
@@Broomer52 You know, if you form an opinion because you were able to access information that is true, I wouldn't blame the service that lets you get that info
@@leritykay8911 I don’t think you realize how good social media is at polarizing, spreading misinformation and working people into a frenzy. It’s a production line of mass hysteria
I was born at the turn of the millennium and didn't get access to the full internet until around 2007 because I lived in a very impoverished area but even still I learned about murder, drugs, rape, thievery, child molestation and prostitution before I ever looked at a website, just by looking out the window or in some of those instances staying inside,as this one person said"the world has always been experiencing a natural disaster and there is no strong enough shelter for the coming storm"
I’ve heard all of his songs and now I feel like sadness is a inevitable part of life that you will never overcome but can only ignore till death prevails over your miserable, worthless, obsolete life
When he goes back to can I interest you in everything at the end it gives me I just made a deal with the devil vibes
"could i interest you in everything all of the time, a little bit of everything all of the time Epathy's a tragedy and boredom is a crime could i interest you in everything all of the time"
one of the things that i find funny about the song is that because he speaks so fast when naming a bunch of things that you can find on the internet that you don't really question it because you just don't have time to progress it unless you pause or you watch it multiple times
Quality reaction! Really adds thoughts to the message of the song ❤
Bro, I think you could have added a few more pauses. I think I could almost hear Bo between a few of them.
You right. ⏸
I mean the 80s and early 90s still had the whole Aids crisis so it wasn't completely empty of problems
I don't know if Bo wrote it with that intent: but the first time I saw this vid - what really came to mind is Faust - but *without* Mephistopheles there trying to tell Faust not to take the Devil's deal.
I was born in 2004 but I didn't have access to the internet until I was in 5th grade and I got my first phone when I was 12.
My younger siblings got a phone earlier than I did and you actually notice the difference.

I step away from my computer and go straight outside to see my puppy for EMOTION at least an hour after I get on and I'm out there for 2 hours and it is a ratio of 1:2 like a reward system. You see puppy for this many you get internet for this many.
One thing I appreicate is that Bo turned all every one of the lighting effects at the end, when throughout the other parts of the song, each one was isolated to match specific mood. The spinny green lights at the more cheery parts, and the red and green glowy lights when he was more cynical. Then at the end when everything came together, it all came on in an overwhelming soup of emotions
Love this song. Also Josh Scorcher's parody of this amusing as well.
When I was looking for a video to watch this caught my eye because of the “well, now I’m depressed.”
Someone… for the love of gods. Take this man’s space bar away!
You do realize you don’t HAVE to pause this video every few seconds, right?
You realize reaction video means reaction video, right.
Definitely could’ve paused less, but this just feels like complaining for the sake of complaining when you ask for “the ability to pause be taken away”
new content always comes out and this is the reason we dont run out of content so we just go stab someone and see their reaction its new everything all of the time

Deadass I was on ig reels, and on one of the vids people were telling you how to make a bomb step by step, how to make crack, step by step, how to make meth, step by step, how to make heroin, step by step, it was fucking insane
You're the only person I've seen make the SOAD/A7X similarity here and I can't get over it. I'd love to hear Serj or M sing this.
Wow... The CONSTANT pausing is OUT OF CONTROL... I mean, I've seen some pausers in my day but you sir are in a league of your own. Lol
It's a reaction, what did you expect?
It’s a reaction. That criticism is void in this context
This man is one bad day from becoming a villain
I love when people who knew old bo react to now bo, Its like seeing people get reliven if that makes sense 😂, cause ive realized many people who are fans of bo now are like just inside fans which is fine but when i show them 'art is dead' or 'world on fire' they dont understand
The Song is clearly going for a dark carnival kind of vibe, like said in the video. With Bo Burnham serving as both the Ringmaster and Algorithm. Showing you all the attractions, taking you deeper down the rabbit hole. With some reminiscing on what the internet used to be and it's original intent. Before finally delving it just pure madness.
The space of online interaction is like civilization without consequence.
That's not voyeurism, that's exhibitionism! XD
Maybe don't pause after every bar?
I was raised on basically no internet till around 10 and then sloooowly introduced to more time on my devices over the next six to seven years whoch is impressive considering how closethis all is and how much intermet my gen z peers born before aswell as after me have had. I'd say my parents did a fine job of raising me offline and giving me an outside childhood.
Oh my God! Let the damn song play for more than 2 seconds at a time!!!
It’s a reaction. That criticism is void in this context

Omg yes
I'm basically obsessed with electronics and the internet so it surprises people when I tell them I didn't have access to the internet until I was 10 especially when they know my age, I was born in 2006 my parents just didn't let me.
I got to play Minecraft without mods or servers just base game 1.6.4 Minecraft alone since we only had two computers a family one and the other was my dad's and an Xbox, we got to play Xbox games with each other(I have sisters) mainly Halo and the double game of Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda, but we all only got one hour for all electronics. If you played with one of the others on the Xbox you got to add your time to each other so we got 2, very rarely did we get three cause my eldest sister didn't like video games we, me and my middle sister, didn't always follow this timer often trying to sneak in more time unless we already had plans to hang out with someone which wasn't insanely rare, sometimes I literally got distracted and forgot how long I was on but more often then not we followed the timer.
When we became 9 the timer moved to 2 hours and when we were 10 and our parents had enough money we would get a phone and officially get access to the internet I didn't get my phone till I was almost 11 getting it on Christmas but we finally had complete access to the internet since I was the youngest and finally was 10.
I want to treat this as a good thing except unlike the older generations who aren't expected to be up to date with everything, I have been left with no social awareness, barely anything in common with other people of my age group's childhood, and very few friends because of the last two things😅.
While sure I got out of being bombarded by everything at a younger age I now have very little in common with my age group. What doesn't help was gaining access to the internet at 10 and not knowing how to react we didn't get explanations or anything other then warnings and explanations of viruses so I kinda had to figure out the Internet alone, I still get surprised by small thing I don't know or understand about the internet and laugh my ass off when people say "You'd die without your phone wouldn't you?" sure I'm obsessed with it, it's a shiny new toy with millions of features so I don't like to stop messing with it, I want to understand every feature of this constantly upgrading toy but I went forever without one and actually use it way less then people think, not to say I'm not using the internet I'm mainly using a laptop that I bought myself 3 years ago from my eldest sister for 200 dollars and am very proud of or the proper computer that I half bought myself the other half being a Christmas present and it's better then my dads who's a nerd himself 1-2 years ago for $1500 while it was on sale! But even to this day including video games my favorite game is just a good ol game of tag with the original Halo as a close second.
Minecraft much further back as my third, ghost in the graveyard taking fourth and you get the point it's a lot more diverse then people expect. So basically don't always wish to just not have access to the internet becaue as long as everyone else does you'll be completely left behind and it sucks trying to catch up.
He turned a 5 minute video into a 15 minute video
It's a reaction, what did you expect?

While I do recommend seeing the special as a whole instead of reacting to everything separately, I'd be very curious to see your reaction to How the World Works first
"The power of the internet, in the palm of my hand, its gone"
if there is anything this song has taught me, it's EVERYTHING IN MODERATION, another thing it has taught me, is that, we humans are slaves to our addictions, and yes, having everything at our fingertips will make us addicted, unlimited knowledge is one hell of a drug, one of the creators of the internet said, had he known what it would become and the effect it would have on us, then he would've killed it before it became a thing
U scream! I scream! We all scream for the opportunity to have significance!
You pause way too much, this song is purposefully meant to throw you off because of the speed. Reacting to every single line of the song separately defeats the purpose of a reaction
At least pause once every minute, not every 10 seconds. That goes for all future reaction videos, not that I’ve seen any others of yours.
I can't really blame him tbh. It's natural for a musician to take things on a per-line basis. A big part of what makes successful songwriting is being able to guage the quality of any lyrics, whether you or somebody else wrote them.
@@kaltsssit Theirs this thing called waiting till the end. A lot of the stuff he said could’ve waited till the end. And he was pausing it even when their wasn’t more lyrics. It ruins the whole artistic vibe of this song to pause it every 5 secs.
