    Hi you are actually not supposed to use gel food coloring on chocolate it makes the chocolate grainy and hard. That’s probably why they cracked, you’re only supposed to use oil :)

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes I agree with it. Next time added 1/2 tsp of melted vegetable shortening and it didn't crack.

    Awesome video! Can i just use normal chocolate or cooking chocolate? How do I melt it without getting too thick? Do I use oil? Etc.
    Thanks!!

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you. You have to use cooking chocolate for this. If it's too thick add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or crisco shortening to thin out the chocolate. For easier melting, use candy melts or chocolate chips.

    If we add gel color to chocolate wont it become hard?

    • @worstbestgf
      @worstbestgf Před 3 lety +2

      Same thing i thought. Shouldn’t you be using oil based color?

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on the type and the brand
      of the chocolate and the gel colours. If you feel like yours will get hard with gel colour, use oil based. Or else you can use a little oil (vegetable oil or melted shortening preferably) to avoid it getting hard.

    It may be easier to dip the molded cake pop in melted chocolate.

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před rokem +1

      Yes but that way you will need a lot of cake and this method gives you a good finishing

    Hi, can we use cream cheese or buttercream frosting for cakesickles?

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety

      I think cream cheese would not suit for this. Buttercream is more suitable for this.

    Can we make these one day in advance and how to store if we can make ?

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you can make a day in advance. Store them in room temperature in an airtight container. If the weather is humid, store in the refrigerator wrapping each with plastic wrap and put them in an airtight container.

  • @laibayounis503

    Do u have to take the stick out or can you leave it in

    • @shanaskitchen1808
      @shanaskitchen1808  Před 3 lety +2

      If you are talking about taking the stick out after the first coating, then yes you must take it out. When you have to fill it with cake mixture it will be a hassle when the stick is there. Hope this helps.
