I love when Ben hosts the show. He may need a few prompts but he always moves seemlessly into the segments, and always entertains
31:03 Detainment Spell prevents activated abilities from being activated, but Doric’s transformation cost is a triggered ability.
I feel like we all would have a better life if we had a Ben in our lives. :)
he's got Baloo vibes and look xD "the simple Ben-necessities"
Ben is my favorite ❤
Ben is so geniune! As he gets better at hosting, it's gonna be awesome! We love you Ben!!
28:17 Edgin can’t target Xenk as he has protection from creatures via Spirit Mantle.
Protection was also invalid for the same reason
@@mmburp lmao
I do love it when Ben narrates the episodes. Somehow it doesn’t feel as practiced compared to some of the others :) great game anyway
I couldn't love this show more. The game play is fantastic, but there is nothing better than watching the four of you interact around a table. And Ben, remember ... you're cool.
When you make a copy of a card (say with mnemonic deluge) the copy is created, and then cast, from the zone the original card was in. I only know this because delayed blast fireball is amazing in my Myra the Magnificent deck.
Listening to CGB go through all his possible plays on arena stream really improved my play instead of doing the ‘obvious’ thing immediately.
''Several spells specify copying a sorcery or instant "card", then allow a player to "cast the copy". In these cases, the only place the copy will actually exist is on the stack, but the player must go through the casting process as if casting the spell from the hand. The most obscure version is Epic, where the copy is directly put on the stack without casting and potentially without a visible source. '' Mnemonic Deluge is one of those spells, meaning the copies were actually considered effectively cast by Blake, and since they weren't cast from hand, the secondary effect of Delayed Blast Fireball should have happened, for each CAST copies (from Mnemonic Deluge).
I believe delayed blast fireball does specify that it has to be cast from exile, its not one of the ones that just say “if it was not cast from hand”
Mnemonic copies the card, the card is in exile at that moment, so the copies are cast from exile. I was doubting this, but found a post on Delayed Blast Fireball and Arcane Bombardment with the explanation:
707.12. An effect that instructs a player to cast a copy of an object (and not just copy a spell) follows the rules for casting spells**, except that the copy is created in the same zone the object is in** and then cast while another spell or ability is resolving. Casting a copy of an object follows steps 601.2a-h of rule 601, “Casting Spells,” and then the copy becomes cast. Once cast, the copy is a spell on the stack, and just like any other spell it can resolve or be countered.
Good to know! Magic is hard 😊
@@BlakeMTG yeah, becoming a MtG Judge must be like getting a PhD in physics 😅
@@AlbertJanVaartjesgotta love it when other people copy paste a “rule explanation” with no context. 😂 thank you for posting an actual and correct Comprehensive Rule reference.
Ben cannot target his commander with the alseid because it has protection from creatures...
Nice catch
It is utter chaos when Ben is in the drivers seat, and I am HERE for it xD
your guys production quality and interaction is fantastic. You'd think this was easier but from sampling the web it very much so is not. Love your content and would love to see more!
Love watching you guys, content feels very genuine and fun to watch, especially because of the differing playstyles across the group.
The copies from Mnemonic Deluge are indeed cast from exile. When an effect lets you copy a card and castvthe copy, the copy is cast from the same zone the card id in, since Deluge exiles first then copy, the copies are cast from exile and would deal 5 damage each.
First thought on reading Blake’s commander was “I hope he runs Thran Turbine”.
Whenever Ben hosts the show, great joy is brought to everyone! I love it! 😂
I love watching Ben host. Its so genuine and heart-felt. It really adds a personal flavour!
I love the vibe you guys put out. So genuine and epic soundtracks to top it all off!!!
I like that in the end despite all the shenanigans, death came at the hand of a giant beefy creature.
Y’all posing as your commanders is my favorite part of these videos !! I love it!
27:40 Ben should not be able to target his commander with the alseid because it has protection from creatures
Does the bard do anything in this one?
Btw whered you get that awesome sleeve there, CGB?
Let this episode be a lesson to both WotC on how to continue making commanders and to players on how to build around commanders! Wow, when was the last time we saw *each* commander play such a huge role in everybody’s game plan? This was my favorite episode in a long time! I was already thinking of building Simon, but now I want to build all 4 of these as well 😂
I really enjoy your content guys! well done. Greetings from Ireland.
Couldn't agree more on stopping the Bard hate
Blake finally deciding to destroy CGB's altar is the kind of plays that commander is made of! That was a very juicy turn, and I'm only sad that Ben didn't actually take advantage of it. Got immediately betrayed for it, too.
Lesson 1: Never trust CGB.
Lesson 2: Don't ignore Shea all game.
I believe mnemonic deluge delayed blast does kill cgb, because the copies ARE still cast.
Incredible editing work by Brent as usual
Been loving this channel and lpve to see CGB guesting in other channels as well
Everyone of you should have their own intro catchphrase. Ben's apparently is "Let's get into it!'
i put forge in my NEGAN deck but i really want to make a deck out of him so , thanks for this video!
31:26 I’m glad that high five was censored lol
We have 2 bards in our party of 6. They're useless.
Take it back
@@BlakeMTG I will once they do something
Just get 2 more and they can start a barcore band!
Shae! Your 32:40 commander was indestructible!
Can I frame Shae's smile and have it on my desk so I can look at it when things get rough? This is such an underrated show. Love it CGB
I freakin love this commander show and all the ppl on it. Hoping one day i'll be able to meet you guys, possibly play a game or two, and smoke a fatty with Blake! 🤙🤣
Well that’s An Offer I Can’t Refuse 🤷♂️
Awesome finish, there's just something terrifying about that particular planes walker.
That ending was priceless 😂
Mixing up the standard comments about streamers appearance internet people get by saying Blake and Ben are looking great today. Love a good T-shirt although I'd be worried if I had Blake's since it would always be missing.
Can’t tell if Ben does the promos like this on purpose or if he needs work lol! Love it either way.
Detainment spells only stop activated abilities, but Shae's commander says "when it attacks", making it a triggered ability
@35:11 deluge does specifially say you cast the copies though not sure if it counts as from exile
she attacked the same turn with terrasque as she summoned it, and it did not have any way to gain haste, so that attack with the terrasque was an illegal one 37:00
Please read the card.
I adore the live host coaching
Dude Blake fucking kills me. "Don't stare at the camera for too long guys"
Lol the high five was censored 😂
Serious question because I want to know how it works. Nissa gives +1/+1 per forest to each creature on the battlefield when she ultimates. When owlbear flips, is that a new creature and therefore without the bonus from Nissa?
I think that is the case, but I'm not sure... I'd like somone else to confirm this
@@azlath Judge?!
@@azlath If the card says it is exiled before transforming, it should lose the counter. I reread the cards and it only says it transforms and is not exiled. Therefore, I think it is right that the counter will remain no matter which side it's on.
Paul is correct. If a card transforms without exiling, it's the same object and anything on it carries over. You can see this pretty clearly with the new Incubate tokens; they wouldn't work if transforming took away their counters and the +1/+1 effect from Nissa works similarly. If the card exiles to transform it would lose the buff, but Doric can't really work that way since she'd also no longer be attacking.
@@Kestral287 awesome explanation. Thank you!
I don't know when background music was added to the games, or if it's just louder than before, but this is the first time I've turned off a video in this series because of the music. Couldn't even make it 15 minutes in.
This was awesome 😂
Snakes do fly. I saw a movie about it. They went on a plane with their friend samuel l jackson.
Looked a lot like that abrade got pulled from the bottom of the foretell stack and would’ve been uncuttable on Blake’s turn.
You might be right, 28:01 that's what it looked like too.
I actually moved them around so the bottom card was what I wanted to play, looking back now that’s changing unknown information and is not correct play, never played with foretell before 😬
32:37 you can block with your indestructible commander
Blake is always wearing a hat so unsure if he got a fresh cut
Regardless hair is looking nice!
41:40 ward only triggers when targeted by an opponent, Shea world be forced to fight
The censored high five killed me dead
The movie was amazing! The cards are great this game was so fun!
I don’t see why people were targeting Blake so much throughout the first half of the game
You must have missed the previous episode. He ran away with the whole game and very quickly.
I love the host that is Benjamin J Trainwreck.
After ben showing cgb mercy and not wiping him out he turns around and tries to hit him for 14 SNAKE MOVE
Ben will get better at hosting with more experience. It's cool to have a friendly group that provides so much support.
Second attack of Ben, did he really needed to do that because of goad? That dropped of at Blake’s turn right?
Love the credits
I just love Shae's smile...
Love it , these looked "fun" to play 😅
Think I need to make a big fat dragon deck
Ward only applies to spells and abilities of opponents, so The Terrasque has to fight
They're referring to Forge's ward cost of sacrificing a creature. The fight trigger targets Forge, Shea doesn't pay the cost, the fight ability is countered by Forge's ward. It was a clever way to make sure the trample damage got through.
Ben intros are the best lol
started watching everything on 1.25 speed, this is hilarious
Really should’ve had different stacks for the foretold cards.. cause pretty sure one was cast that couldn’t be.. 🤷♂️ but then again few mistakes were made.. it happens
Ah yes, that mythical creature, the "Turask"
CGB Ben saves you and you whack them for 14 after, gross....I LOVE IT!
Ben is the best! More Ben intros!
We all witnessed the high five lol
Tbf, I would watch you guys play D&D..
Wow what a turn of events
Love the show
I can't believe the tarrasque doesn't have trample.
WotC should have given you guys these cards earlier than release. I want to buy them after watching the episode but the SL is over now :(
To celebrate the dnd movie wizards of the coast made their own DnD movie
Ben is hosting again yes!!!!
I agree with Blake, Bards aren't useless.. Boss fights are harder when you don't have a super cool buff bot like a Bard.
Bards are great but Edgin forgot how his own class works and didn't actually cast spells, which makes the class significantly worse.
@@Kestral287 The Chaos of battle can make you forget a lot. So it's forgivable. Doesn't mean the class as a whole was worthless. Just he was forgetful. :)
But sometimes they jus't don't care: czcams.com/users/shortsNDMAugmUyDA
@@Kestral287 its more like the writers really wanted to emasculate their male lead, they even said so multiple times in interviews.
Darn pro creatures, heroic intervention would have made shays commander a perfect blocker
The D&D movie honestly slapped, super underrated! Great fun
Ben took double damage several times because he subtracted the damage and then the commander damage...
As far as I see, this app doesn't work like that, but do check the app you and your playgroup use, because some definitely do.
Heavy Control Ben. 👍👍👍
the bentros are the best tbh
The be(a)st shea way of smashing :p
Scooping at instant speed. Let’s not be a little you know what.
Can Ben host my life? Can Ben narrate my life?
Having cards that only exist as secret lairs be playable in any format just feels wrong. Like, print the card in a normal set and then just give it a different name and art but don´t make mechanics dependent on buying a Secret Lair.
well they do come out in regular sets in a couple months, and if you're playing casual you can just proxy them
The Walking Dead shambles by…
Shea showing the boys what's up, noice. 😎
Poor Blake
owl bear death ftw
good job shae
More Ben please!
Even before, Ben is my favorite 😊
Edgin was very useful in the movie, their is no movie without him literaly
I miss read this as today
We love Ben
