Shay's Shapeshifter is a Snake and an Army. They missed that.
I love how as this LotRs arc has progressed, Ben has worn less and less of his Ent outfit until he's the only one not dressed up.
If you watch it in reverse order it's the sad story of a man that slowly turns into a tree.
@@Suhrvivor you could, but then you have to deal with the dark, intrusive thoughts about a tree playing a game, printed on his people.
People not realizing CGBs Sesame Street reference is hilarious and terrifying.
@20:11 does he know the Archeomancer map puts the land untapped? 🤔. He kept putting them tapped.
That bath salt slip made me cackle 🤣🤣
good game, Blake was so dirty holding up the 55 dollar counter magic untill the very end, well played sir.
Great game! Was fun to see all the Aragorn synergies
shame Blake didn't add Birgi to the deck, Tom might've liked company
I'd like to make a public apology for this lack of forethought.
I got two of the Precons, but regret nto getting the humans one. Anything based on that jeskai humans shell is SWEET. Also I love the flash speed monowhite Gandalf concept. I want that deck! Looks so fun
At 21:30, CGB made a quote from LOR about the great battle. It is on the dawn of the fifth day, look to the east. He misquoted 3 days instead.
Don't sagas enter with an automatic trigger of the first chapter effect? They say to add a lore counter when saga enters the battlefield, so toms effect still triggers the chapter one effect, right?
did not expect the result!...good game!!
This match was such fun to watch guys!
another great episode. Love this weekly show
"You're going to regret that"
'OK, Show me'
20:51
Ice from Ben so cold it burns
Also CGB's pronunciation of golem to sound like Gollum is more fitting/confusing than ever with this theme.
Did it say CoverGoGlue? in the opening?
This series of LOTR decks has been awesome 👏🏻
Didn’t think we would notice that you weren’t in character did you Mr Benjamin. Just tie a bed sheet around you like a cape and presto. Seriously tho I bet that treefolk costume got a little warm.
White guy in a bedsheet? That won’t end well 😂
@@skykur 🤣🤣
Don't think I didn't notice that CovertGoGlue in the intro.
Gandalf the White was a card I was excited about in the previews, loved CGB’s take on it!
Today's title card had CovertGoGlue...
don't you also draw a card with Yawgmoth when you apply the -1/-1 counters?
Yes
What an amazing game, I literally found myself rooting for different people this entire game ❤️
Small suggestion, could the decklists links in the description also include what deck each person are playing?
Blake was really on edge this game😂
I feel like after the third Loren trigger I would have just scooped. Like maybe I could come back but it would be a hollow soulless victory
I love how CBG is CovertGoGLUE
Came here for this comment
44:00 Doesn't "this ability triggers only once per turn" trump "triggers an additional time"?
The way been way playing Aragorn in this game makes want to build an Aragorn deck now!
Blake missed a 4/4 angel trigger from historians boom when his saga got it’s final lore counter
Gandalf loves them KCI combos.
38:53. Why did they skip Ben's turn? What did I miss?
Ben had his turn ( 38:00 ), Shea just started doing shenanigans on his end step which looked like she had a turn and then skipped to Blake.
A win with only 1 life! Now that’s a story.
Is there an episode where CGB is not the archenemy? 🤣
“Look to the weast….”
CGB's got bars lol
Archaeomancers map really putting on some work here (did I say this right? Not sure about the English ;) )
The turn that she played the Falkenrath Aristocrat, if Shea did a full send on the Black Market Connections she would have had the second Shapeshifter to sac to Aristocrat for the last point of damage to kill Blake. Understandable tho that she didn't want to leave herself at 4 life (would lose 6 life for full send.)
CGB loves to flash 😂
I love how ben has slowly done away with the custom..
That was sweet.
Cgb stealing sesame street bar I see you
I got excited when Shea dropped Ayara, it's my favorite commander to use right now on Arena.....hint hint @cgb
This why you play Dash hope JK
cgb should be drawing 4 cards per ichor wellspring flicker becuase gandalf specifically says enters or leaves
And Ichor wellspring specifically says or is put into a graveyard from the battlefield. Exile and graveyard are different
only 2 cards with gandalf. ichor only triggers on enter or going to graveyard from battlefield. not put into exile.
that dude looks like jonesy fortnite
Gandalf is such a strong commander, but Aragorn as a human's tribal commander is GOOD. I might need to change my human deck to him!
Also, the outro song reminds me of the intro song to the show How It's Made.
Unlike Cody Rhodes, Blake was able to Finish the Story. Congrats Blake!
I understand *why* Ben would want to lose the costume. But I'm still disappointed.
CGB has seen Veggie Tales?
Vanilla Shea Ice
10:43 Thank you for assuming I know how to read italian
That Is spanish...
CovertGoGlue?
Is he playing the leave the battlefield correctly? The card doesn’t say when it dies Gandalf says when it leaves. Dying and leaving are different aren’t they?
dying is just shorthand for creatures going from BF to GY. They still leave the battlefield.
They're different in the sense that leaves is broader; a card can leave the battlefield and not die. But dying is intrinsically leaving the battlefield.
@@Kestral287 All i know is gandalf works with dying. In arena, when shelob creates a solemn simulacrum token, the token will still draw when sac'd, even though it specifies dying, but is not a creature.
@@protein5207 Correct. As noted, dying just means moving to from battlefield to graveyars
hahaha why Blake?! why?! hahahhaa you underestimated Lauren so much! I mean, if you think about it, you have in two consecutive turns the options to exile her, it would be so beneficial to you, cause she destroys enchantments on ETB and with Gandalf was so powerful against you hahaha, I know that the ring is dangerous and also Gandalf, but at the same time, I think your priority should have been different hahahaha. Anyways, GG, it was so fun the whole game.
aaa or the Teleportation circle :P
😀
I really hate to be that guy but once you place counters on the saga, it can not be respond to. It is triggered without using the stack then the effect goes on the stack. The saga is then sacrifice as part of the lore being placed when reached the last chapter.
505.4: Second, if the active player controls one or more Saga enchantments and it's the active player's precombat main phase, the active player puts a lore counter on each Saga they control. (See rule 714, "Saga Cards.") This turn-based action doesn't use the stack.
714.4: If the number of lore counters on a Saga permanent is greater than or equal to its final chapter number, and it isn't the source of a chapter ability that has triggered but not yet left the stack, that Saga's controller sacrifices it. This state-based action doesn't use the stack.
I was thinking on that, but I wasn't sure, thanks a lot.
I am fairly certain that this interaction does work. Putting a lore counter on a saga doesn't use the stack but the ability that triggers when a lore counter is added does. 714.4 states "and it isn't the source of a chapter ability that has triggered but not yet left the stack'" as a condition for sacrificing the saga in addition to placing the last lore counter. In the case of this game the trigger was still on the stack so the second statement wouldn't be true. As a result I believe this interaction should work as it was played.
OP is wrong. They played this correctly. This interaction is what lets you tap Urza’s Saga for mana before it’s sacrificed to the 3rd ability.
Quoting the rule that explains why it works to say that it doesn't work is certainly a choice.
@@Kestral287well it does mean in other words that as long as the saga gets it last or more lore counter and the last chapter ability doesn't put anything on the stack, the player who controls it sacrifices it. Like ECD when there is no creature to target, the saga puts nothing on the stack and it gets sacrificed with no response possible.
So yeah it explains why it works. If the last chapter ability is something that gets on the stack, the players can respond to it.
I was just rooting for cgb the entire way it’s so hard to fight 3 people at the same time it was that way the entire game till he lost 😢
When is Blake going to stop trusting the editor?
This is a crappier version of a show that exists.... Cgb is as off as Joe bonamassa... Talented but probably has seen one up close
unfun to see
3 players mob against one player...
It was 2 but ok
He has "the curse of the one in the best of one"
To be fair he was the problem at least at the end. If he untapped again he would have won the mob rule saved the gsme
All about threat assessment. They had to or just lose. Thats what makes a good game, knowing what the threats are. The pieces that just end or take over games. If they wanted to play a 20 minute game.. yeah let cgb go off on that value train.
I already know Ben's decks because hes not good at magic. All his decks are just good stuff in their respective colors with boring tired ass unoriginal combos. Please stop putting him on the show. Why don't more people notice this?
This comment is wrong on several levels.
But why does it really matter ?
LOL I built that deck
Go to hell
Sorry, Ben is the best player on the show. He never complains, plays fun decks, and usually is a problem for the table. He would make any playgroup better
Cgb stealing sesame street bar I see you
