I can't see Tigress becoming evil. Despite her being the most powerful member of the furious five, she did not have a master who entirely believed in her. Despite how heartbreaking it is that Shifu only ever saw her mistakes as a young learner, it made her humble and understand, as Shifu said in the 3rd movie, " There is always more to learn, even for a master." Even with her power, she sees herself as equally deserving of any power she has as anyone else.
Same here it would be a tragedy but a tigress going to the dark side would be interesting.
I don't think she will either and that also maybe due to her childhood experiences she saw how destructive her strength could be and how others could be hurt by it so as you said it humbles her❤
Yeah Tai Long already took that path. Although he wasn’t apart of the furious five, he was Shifou’s greatest student
This is very true, but I would argue that this desire to continue learning and gain power to further herself could lead to her downfall in an attempt to stay on top in Shifu's eyes. Similar to Tai Lung.
It's equally possible that she could the one to break the cycle, though.
I can't believe this series still going
I really like how there is a recurring theme in the Kung Fu Panda universe about the dangers of giving in to your strength, and letting your ego go unchecked. I just like how consistent Kung Fu Panda is with that theme.
I believe (-and this is due to my limited understanding of Buddhism and Taoism) that is actually a fundamental belief in their doctrines. Unchecked Ego and Wayward Pride are a common theme of the destruction of the self. Without restraint, they go against the world, and naturally, the world snaps back. Self Control, Restraint, and Humility are VERY important aspects in both belief systems.

@@Chubuchibz not necessarily,it still showed how ego can be your undoing,again best seen with the main villain,chameleon,who boasts that now that she has every master's kung fu that she's unstoppable and yet falls to herself and her powers. sure could've been a much better movie,but still conveys the main message of the series.
@@ChubuchibzI don't think so. Once again, the dragon warrior title goes to someone from humble beginnings and that everyone underestimates, continuing the theme that humility is a strength and pride will always be a downfall.
Adding to the discussion about Tigress not turning evil, I think some other possibilities are that (1 the Dragon Knight may address Po as the one who will be corrupted or (2 the cycle was already broken because Tai Lung got corrupted in a similar way as Fenghuang. The union of the Furious Five fighting against Tai Lung would instill in them what happens when power corrupts a Master.
That ground work less laid in paws of destiny if I recall correctly.
In the case of Jindiao, he was a fallen Mentor to the Four Constellations after consuming himself with the power of Hero's Chi. Meanwhile Tai Lung and Fenghuang were corrupted because of their ideals, and destiny.
I think is more like a misunderstanding. Probably Peng Huan was really reserved and individualist, so the furious 5 wouldn't notice becoming more ambisious, tetric and unstable, probably She was already on her way of turning on her team and her province, probably She was already on her own and they didn't notice on time to help her find an alternative.
@@of1564it’s also seemingly connected to talent. Fenghuang and tai lung were both abnormally talented and became corrupt based off of what they thought they were owed. None of the members of the current 5 are like that. Tigress is the hardest worker of the group and the oldest but her talent is relatively normal. The only person alive with similar talent is po but he’s seemingly being groomed to be the next oogway

I have a feeling that the reason tai lung had been rejected by oogway was cause he reminded him of fenghuang,due to the fact both of them have unfathomable power and other sets of skills.
And it all roots back to Kai, aka the Spirit of Vengeance. A great warrior that wanted even more power. Oogway was already traumatized way before Fenghuang.
@@johngona5929 yeah. I guess the reason he didn’t choose Tai Lung would be more because he wanted to protect him from becoming another Kai. Kai tried to take Chi which leads to him losing more chi, in a weird “you lose more than you take and gain more than you give” sort of thing. If Tai Lung became a secondary Kai he’d eventually lose so much Chi that he’d cease to exist

From the looks of the first Kung Fu Panda, it did seem possible that Tigress could devolve into someone like Tai Lung. But after the events of the first movie, there was a major shift in personality for Tigress (I think the battle against Tai Lung and Po being another member at the Jade palace was some sort of wake up call). Because I could never see Tigress from KFP2 and 3 becoming corrupt (which is funny because Tigress is literally the only other member at the Jade palace to not become a Jombie in KFP3).
It was luck she got flung behind a rock and kai forgot about her but took shifu chi

I think that Tigress will break the cycle of the most powerful member of the furious five turning to evil. It could be curse that someone has to break, and Tigress can.

@@revocable1687 I’d prefer Tigress not being evil too. A case where villains try to convince or manipulate Tigress into being evil would work better. Even if you are strictly against evil and know the tragedy it causes, you can still be manipulated into joining evil forces, so it’d be a lot more intriguing if there was something where Tigress is being manipulated into being evil and Po (with the others) are trying to prevent her. It’d confuse and definitely affect her since she is being dragged onto two sides. Now considering the ending of the third movie, I’d expect the villain side to be harsher and less appealing, and if Tigress did end up forced into evil it would be actually forced, and she would be forced to fight her friends against her will fir some reason.
@@amuu8216 Same. Tigress is very empathetic towards Po in Kung Fu Panda 2. It would be disservice of her character to become corrupted/evil even for a moment just because she's tough. It's just really her style, being hardcore. Even in the first movie, she told the story of Tai Lung in the most compassionate way - no rage, no envy, only sadness and understanding.
How exciting!! The lore and the way they depicted morals was complex and the style they used for storytelling was mesmerizing. Kung Fu Panda will forever be a personal favorite of mine.
The lore behind kung fu panda is interesting. it led me to theorize that a item in the world of kung fu panda is a mind stone. look up gong Lu medallion it’s on the wiki and tell me it’s not the mind stone or it’s similar.

I highly doubt Tigress would be turned to the evil side. Tempted most certainly, but she's apart of a family that trusts her completely and has a master in Shifu whom has humbled her through training. Plus there's Po and it is clear that she cares about him even they have a close bond as friends so yeah I don't think she will turn evil.
OK using this as a basis Tigress and Po could be the next Oogway and Kai which is also just as bad

I think the humility Tigress has developed, and the warning that came from her adopted brother taking that dark road, and her determination to prove she is different will prevent her from truly going corrupt.
Tigress was very determined to see if she could be the dragon warrior (even Shifu was thinking of it as well) in the first movie, but she let go of her strong belief when Tai Lung broke out of prison, was heading to the Valley and defeated her and her team. If she could be tempted to turn evil she would need a reason for it and Po and the others would stop her from that path

No I don't think Tigress will become evil. A lot of her character arc is to be the foil to Tai lung. Unlike Tai lung she had friends and was respected by everyone except Shi fu. Vice versa for Tai lung. If it wasn't for Shi fu learning his mistakes and Po and the furious five. Tigress would not have relaxed from the dragon warriors expectations and found her own way becoming a Kung fu master instead. I find her becoming a master refreshing since she started out as a kid who could not control their strength.
The "current" Furious Five already split up at the end of the series after they officially became Kung-Fu masters. There was even a whole miniseries about Po's students (it sucked, btw). Tigress never became evil because, unlike all of the other iterations of the Furious Five, the most recent one had the Dragon Warrior (now the Dragon Master), Po, to keep her power and ego in check.

I can see tigress becoming evil only if someone took one of her friends hostage or some other sort of blackmail/manipulation. But not on her own her moral compass is too strong
It was believed Po would be the one who would succumb to evil but since he wasn't apart of the furious five, then it wouldn't count. That was when Po learned of the previous furious five and set forth to find the former member who succumbed to darkness.
No Dragon Warrior ever became Evil .
@@classicrockandfurriesrule4743 none that have been known to use their skill/abilities for their own selfish desires, as Po was the only known dragon warrior to have been titled as such.
Had Po not become the Dragon Warrior it is very likely Tigress would have fallen to darkness eventually. Her pain and great desire to prove herself probably would have led her down a bad road had Po not helped her relationship with Shifu. I don't see the current Furious Five suffering the same fate as the previous mostly because of his influence.
I don't think Tigress would turn evil. Largely because she's too humble and self-aware for that to happen. Even in the very first movie where she does make a few ego-driven decisions, like going after Tai Lung herself (and the rest of the five following after), she is largely a humble character. She doesn't just assume that she's going to be the Dragon Warrior when she sees Oogway pointing in her general direction. She asks if he's pointing at her. When she and the rest of the Furious Five bow to Shifu, she doesn't say "I have failed you", she says "We have failed you". Even though it's clear that she wanted to be the Dragon Warrior, it never slipped her mind that Oogway could just as easily pick someone else. And the only reason she was mad about that person being Po, is because she felt like he just waltzed right in with zero experience and stole that position from not just her, but from the rest of the Furious Five as well. So yeah, since she's constantly showing consideration for the people around her and she hardly ever acts on her ego alone, I doubt she'd turn evil!
You talked about a lot of things I’ve never seen before. What about when Po thought he made up a move, causing his friends to fear him because it was a devastating move of a hero turned villain.
Po: “Is that a panda-shaped cage?”
Monkey: “N-No…”
Po: *Walks off
It’s an episode where Po uses a retractable toy dagger to fake killing Shifu, so he could trap the villain in Monkey’s Panda-Shaped cage
Tigeress is my favortie character i think she has the potential to become evil, but Po would snap her out of it or seeing what Tai Lung became might have been insight of what happens when a master gets to high on themselves.
Tigress has NEVER shown the ability that Po has though. So I don't see her becoming Evil THAT big of a Deal. Plus, she's waaaay too concerned about her Appearance an her Image to become Bad. She's had that drilled into her about NOT being that.
Po would NEVER turn Evil, because he's still that Goofy Kid inside. His very Nature is to be more Humble, and he grew up Humble. He stays in touch with his Roots. His idea of a Good Time is EVERYBODY having a Good Time ^^

I seriously doubt master tigeress would turn, because deep deep deeeep down, she loves Po, who in the third movie became a teacher after a little bit of hesitation after he defeated Kai.

I think Tigress is the most powerful of the five. I can't see her turning evil though.
And Po maybe VERY powerful, but he has too much of a good heart.
I assume the cycle is already Broken as Tigress without Po showing up and taking the spotlight would not have learned to mellow out and and stop being so critical on herself and others.
She was easily heading down the same path as Tai Lung and the past furious five. Being the star pupil.
But compared to Tai Lung and Fenghuang she had her pride and ego put into check early on, and was abled to develop from there, even seeing what she could have and could be if she went down a similar path as the two dishonored Star Pupil.
If anyone could end up corrupted its Po. As he has a pretty big ego even if its just him being hyperactive he has alot of power and went through alot, but he is gullible and prone to manipulation. It all depends. It could even be a case of Po taking on pupil and them turning corrupt and abusing their power. Who knows.

with tigress, I feel it wouldn't happen. she had too much respect for shifu. she may not of liked po thinking he was unworthy, she realized she was wrong. she worked with her team as well as po. even immediately being a student of po once shifu said the would be. once he left they immediately listened. though it was a test to see if po was ready, they wouldn't know. they saw he wasn't fit to teach but didn't disown shifu or make a new teacher. But once po proved he could lead and be a teacher, they followed suit. to me I see they may of had doubts but learned there was nothing to worry about. So I feel tigress and her furious 5 would break the cycle.

Imagine being the strongest Furious Five member and have the Dragon Scroll basically waitlisted for you but then they give it to some random guy. Then you try to prove your strength and fight the enemy but get clapped tf up.

Bro this could literally be it's own movie tbh. Finding out about the previous furious five, fighting the stronger member that even stood against Oogway, learning more about Shifu's history and how he was the best among the old furious five ironically making them hate him and then having both the new and old furious five as well as Poh fighting the owl together. Not to mention having Tigress go through an arc of worrying about someday betraying the furious five and FINALLY giving Mantis, Crane, Viper and Monkey stuff to do would be nice to see.
I feel like Tigress might have succumb to evil if it was not for zoo. We saw her reactions about not getting chosen and believing her strength above the others. It showed a bit of entitlement and if Po didn’t show up when he did then that could have kept inflating her ego and eventually turn her to the evil side of things just like how the rest knew they were stronger but after a period of time is when they realized to use their strength for evil. Po coming in was unusual, he made Tigress question herself and he has made her more humbled and down to Earth than she ever has been comparative before his arrival. In a way he changed everyone around him for the better. So I say Po changed fate itself.
If Po wasn't there then honestly I'd believe the vicious cycle wouldve kept going, Tigress was hyper focused on strength and proving herself to Shifu that will lead to a similar but different path to Tai longs path to evil.
Tigress descent to evil would be the born from Shifu's lack of compassion/fatherly love this time unlike how Shifu's love turned Tai long into a prideful beast that lust for a destiny that was never his to begin with.

I think it would be really funny if the member that turned evil was Monkey. Monkey especially since he technically was a trickster before he became apart of the Furious Five. Plus Jack Black Panda fighting an Evil Jackie Chan Monkey would be hilarious and amazing.

Tigress going bad would be incredible, she'd be way more aggressive and bloodthirsty. Though even if she did, they'd prolly turn her back because of love and friendship or some generic reason.
I wonder, the darkness seems to favour the most adept & skilled warrior. Not necessarily the most powerful… If we were to analyze the current F5 & do a side by side with the past F5 Master Owl/Master Elephant are considered the most powerful, their equivalent on the current F5 would be Tigress/Mantis. I’m under the impression that one of them would be the one if not both of them affected by said darkness…
Hear me out, Master Owl was a skilled fighter but she also learned to use spells to add to her arsenal of Martial Arts Skills, that made her powerful. While Master Elephant is incredibly gifted in combative techniques that made him worthy enough to become host of the darkness…
Mantis can perform exceedingly hard feats even though he gets caught off guard for comedic moments. I mean the guy is faster than fast, I could see him fight Tigress and win one on one. Tigress on the other hand is sheer strength of character on top of unwavering skills in any battle even ones where the outcome is likely losing. She finds a way, I feel like if driven down that path of mysticism, she too could learn all the techniques & moves Po knows. These makes them both the most likely candidates should the darkness find a way back into the world.
I love Crane, Viper, & Monkey. But their skills just aren’t on par with these two. They’re all great fighters but at the end of the day, Monkey has low danger awareness, Viper is easily the kindest of the group, while Crane although talented is very reserved as a fighter. They opted to stick with what they know best rather than learning new techniques like Mantis & Tigress…
You know in a curious way this would make a good kung fu panda 4 explaining the past and having the furious five split or even fixing this type of curse in a way. It’s kinda cool

To be fair the owl doesn’t really seem that bad like she challenged Oogway fair and square and didn’t even do anything that would be considered evil like Oogway could’ve made that into a teaching moment.
I actually enjoyed this watching this video, and the articulation of the history of the "Furious 5."
I personally believe that just because you are stronger than your peers doesn't mean you're evil, but that factor is tested if your ego is beyond control. Which is why I never feared for one of present Furious Five members going bad because of strength. For if one may be stronger than others, there is always someone else that would equal it out

I doubt she’d fall, she isn’t so arrogant like everyone else. She always strives to protect and doesn’t believe in short cuts to become powerful. And even though she wasn’t picked to be dragon warrior and doubted po was the DW she never said she should be the DW like Shifu believed. Yes she’s very powerful but she openly admits she has more to learn after fighting warriors like Ty Lung and even tried embracing Pos training in the 3rd movie at the beginning. Tigeress is possibly the greatest warrior in Kung Fu Panda and has the potential to be the next Shifu while Po will be the next Oogway
KFP 4 should’ve been based on this story.
perhaps an episode of the Dragon Knight could have it that after Tigress stumbles upon a relic holding the spirit of a former Furious Five leader like herself the spirit would posses Tigress and try to manipulate her into taking whats "Rightfully hers". and using her own past struggles and frustrations against her. only for her defeat the spirit by showing how far she's come and demonstrating how she's finally found inner peace and strength within.
Who knows maybe Fenghuang survived this date probably by the only seed Po had forgotten to burn and that's why she appeared in the following episode "The First Furious Five."

No she won’t turn evil. That’s why Shifu chose to train her and later adopt her. Because of her past and how she was viewed, she’d never want to be seen as the villain again.

What would have happened if Judy never discovered the truth about Night Howlers and stopped bellwether? How would it have affected predators not only in zootopia but the rest of the world? Would bellwether have expanded her operations darting predators all over the world like in bunny burrows? Would the shock collars from Zootopia’s original story have become a thing?

I believe the difference between past furious 5 and the current is the Ying yang that po brings. He counters and completes each member, from tiger's hyper offense to mantis's precision. For one to turn evil they must once more think of themselves as the better of the dragon warrior, not like he is their leader.

It doesn’t have to anything to do with Chinese lore, but there was this sumerian goddess called Inanna, often represented as an owl, who was very ambitious and power oriented. She also ate an special fruit that made her knowledgeable (tho in Inanna’s myth, is knowledge related to sex).
Idk if it’s just a coincidence, but it seemed very interesting that there were some specific similarities between the two

I think tigress had a history of other people being afraid of her natural strength ever since she was a child and she never enjoyed the feeling i think she likes helping people and gaining peoples trust and affection because of that aswell so i dont think she would betray the furious five...maybe for a movie plot but she would turn around in the end
Interesting choice of names here. They named the owl villain Fenghuang when the name means Phoenix. If I wager a guess, the snow leopard Tai Lung might meant Great Dragon ( Da Long or Tai Long ). Perhaps the naming might implied that they will become villains due to their ego succumbed to their greatness from such names.

Fenghuang likely to be the third most powerful kung fu master just next to the Oogway and master Yao, she can easily 1V7 beats new furious five and dragon warrior plus Shifu. I wonder who is the second most powerful villain next to the evil dragon Kepa, Kai or Fenghuang.

Here's the thing.
None of them turned evil. Po may have turned evil at some point, but that was because he was split into his Yin and Yang, aka his Good and Evil. Tigress never turned evil, and so did the others.
They all got turned into Jade Zombies though, except for Po and Tigress. It was in the Kungfu Panda 3.
I like how for all of the first furious five, their name is basically the animal they are apart from the important ones

I wonder if they're going down the route for like a dragon king / emperor and Po has to train a whole army for a major war between good and evil or good and confused good. I'd watch that and see Po fail horribly then be on his own and then do some badass stuff. Thatd be cool I think

Honestly this is was one of my absolute favorite episodes for a lot of reasons but one of Po’s best moments him defending himself against them especially when po throws master elephant he’s a fully grown Asian white elephant easily weighing 5000 pounds and po throws him and holds his own against the rest of them is a really big deal
