I try not to overload the insured with info. I just introduce myself give a brief idea of what I’m gonna do and then say I’ll come back and let them know what I found before I leave.
As a contractor I really appreciate it when the adjuster calls the homeowner to let them know they're on their way.
I know that many MANY adjusters will give a "I'll be there between 10 and 12" but I always tried to get there at 10 and if I was going to be late I'd call the second I knew - "hey, just calling to let you know I'll be 10 minutes behind schedule. Is that okay?" It was ALWAYS okay. I want to meet with the contractor. Saves much work later.
Awesome video
What do you use to secure the ladder to your 4Runner. I have a 5th gen 4Runner and have been looking for ladder rack options.
2" heavy ratchet strap. Front to back on the crossmembers.
👍👍👍👏👏👏
Are there any liability issues with allowing the homeowner on to their roof using the ladder? I like it when the homeowner climbs on the roof with me but I've been told liability is on me if something should happen
I think its subjective. I don't like anyone touching my ladder, even if its a roofer I've been friends with for years. It probably varies state to state but I also think its a liability concern.
As a staff adjuster, our company doesn’t want anyone but their adjuster on the ladder.
I wouldn’t suggest it. I usually tell them to just stay inside and I’ll come get them when I’m done. If they insist than they can use their own ladder. You don’t want them falling off them trying to sue you.
@@matt007 Agreed same. Dont want them talking to me when I'm trying to walk a 10/12 pitch that is 30 years old too.. LOL
In all honesty, I think in 10,000 roof claims I might have had maybe a half dozen that insisted on getting on the roof with me. Not common.
