- Japan is COMPLETELY different in vibe from anything we've played before. We are isolationists (at least to start!) and must build a complete industry chain from scratch. Do we open our borders? Do we open other people's borders... by force? Let's find out!

Ameirca: "I get half of Borneo"
Quill: "That looks fine"
Yeah did he miss that????
Great Brittan saving Quill from himself with that debt forgiveness
Greyed out means the fleet needs to repair, the game is anything but clear on that.
If this was more of a Wargame (as opposed to economic simulator), I'd expect you to begin with a Naval blockade objective, followed by planning an invasion. You'd have something to control the seas first. From what I'm seeing, I think it might have been smoother to go for a single Province as your war goal (keeping other countries out of it). After you own territory on the mainland, you can stage troops for a second war to push inland. [Edit: yeesh! 17M unrest, with only 0.5M loyalists ... ugh]
Gotta hand it to Quill, when all those countries sided against him in the diplomatic play I definitely would have reloaded a save. And if I hadn't, I'd have white peaced when that was possible. But Quill just ploughed through and somehow it worked out for him 😄
The Americans took some of your stuff! I'm not sure what you were even supposed to do about that...
I'm fairly certain that the point where your graph bends up is when you started Steel Frame Construction. Constructing faster is just better.
I dont know why but a lot of my naval battles end inconclusively and it starts the battle over.
It's really annoying when speed is of the essence
that was realy weird, how the US came in and stole land from Quill like that. Didn't think it was possible.
Paradox QA is famously amazing.
@@GTJIGPC no i mean, the US ai enforced peace on that uprising, but Quill lost land to the US, even thou he was on the same side as the US??? It's kinda strange how that peace deal worked out.
@@g1camuschy I know, it's because Paradox has crap quality assurance/bug testing.
Fuck yeah hoi4 continuation
Expressing concern right at the very end of the video about potentially giving Britain an obligation: Didn't they get an obligation when they bought your debt? That's how that interaction works.
Yey! Go Japan
And that is why you don't go all in when conquering 😂
Just had a random thought at the begining of the episode as your approching the modern age, i dont think ive ever played or watched japan in Hearts of Iron.
Considering GB took parts of Qing, ya taking that alliance will def get you at war with them...
in your next war unite the shackalin province by thaking the russian half. in extreme north of japan and maybe also the peninsula at the estreme eastern end of siberia thatt i could not manage to do in my japa game.
promote admarals t i thinkit means the win while losing less ships rather then apointing more equally ranked admitals.
isthe faous okawrite writing annnnnnno or a kabuki play i wonder,
you lost a territory to America
Not discriminated against... Huh. Either I am misremembering Asian history or that's completely inaccurate.
Pass the law that requires everyone to worship the Emperor to placate the religious, then do all the laws that piss them off.
It still amazes me how half baked the map painting aspects of this game are. I've never played this game so my criticisms don't hold much weight, but I think paradox really dropped the ball on this one.
The economy aspect isn't even that good as well. So much of the game is just building certain buildings to balance numbers. Perhaps something so simple could work, but something needs to be added to this game to bring in more nuance and entertainment. (For example, a lot of nations have enough pop and resources that you don't even need to consider these nuances until late game, or at least by the time you do need to considering them, you already have buttons that fix the pop problem, and resources are not really a problem unless you are playing a very weak nation that can't expand. Perhaps someone could mention some nuances to the economy that I am drawing a blank on, it's not like I want to misrepresent the game, I just haven't really seen any other factors outside of pop and resources from quills vids. And even considering resources as a nuanced aspect is bit of a stretch considering how easy it is to get them into your country no matter what your geopolitical situation is because the game generates these resources out of thin air, instead of requiring you to trade for them directly from the other countries around the world that actually have the will and means to trade with you.)
