Here's your difference. Some Quarterbacks will throw a football with the laces in their hands and some with it just on a couple finger and some will not want their hands touching the laces of the ball. What it comes down to is personal feel. I throw the ball with my pinkie and ring finger on the strings for that extra spin to make the ball zip through the air. Some QBs FAMOUSLY will flip the ball over and purposefully handle a ball without the laces on their hands. Some QBs will put all their fingers on the laces.
What it comes down to here is your personal feel. My personal feel is that I can get a lot more texture when I'm doing the solve because I have sensitive enough hands because I've worked on so many mechanical things where I can't see the bolts. (for instance the F-18 Hornet where there isn't always room to get your head in where you work so you have to reach in and feel the head of the bolt or screw.) Just makes me happy.
Feel it. Don't listen to much of anyone on how their feel is. It's gotta be you. I love Dan, trust me I do, but is he wrong? NO, it's not his style. Am I right? NO, it's just my style. Gotta just feel it.
Am I the only one that really likes the ridges? As someone with bigger hands, I think that puzzle feels slightly bigger which I like and I feel I can control it better. Also M U algs such as H, Z, U, ect feel a bit more fluid and easier to do.
I have the gts3m but when I tried using it. It drop out of my hands and one of the corner breaks and have a small bump on it. I agree it is fluid.BUT I LOVE THE SM
No man, I love this thing. Absolutely love it. I think he didn't just set it up well enough. I put the right lubes in and got a good one and also bought an angstrom one and what I got mine to by myself and theirs were pretty close, but it's a really nice cube and the ridges help you not have to push harder and it seems like.
I love the ridges as well because I'm quite clumsy :)

My brother got it for his birthday I honestly can’t even notice the ridges. Out of they box it was crazy fast. Set it up for him, slowed it down and it’s a darkly good good. Very smooth and light which I like, but at the same time it feels sturdy.

@crazybadcuber what lube did u use? I just got my gts3m today and it also overshoots like crazy.....my cubes before were all a little slower so i had to speed them up. I never had to slow a cube down.

which camera and mic do you use? and video editor?
I used angstrom on mine, and topped it with dnm-37. Then i added 2 silk drops, and 2 comp X drops. It sounds like a ton of lube, but its now EXTREMELY GOOD. Its really buttery, quiet, and it slowed down a ton with X. It's so good now.
Well, now this is out, the LM is out. Is there any chance you could do a review on the Gts3 LM? Just to let us know if it is actually improved from the original?

Could it be possible that the ridges have an effect on weight distribution?
It kind of sounds like this is a perfect cube for someone one a slight budget and can't buy a lot of cubes, because it could be set up to fit a lot of turning styles.

Hmm... I personally like the edges... Might just be placebo, but i feel like i can relax my fingers a bit more. I have very drive hands and it just feels reassuring that i know my finger will catch.

the ridges are not a problem. if you're not buying this cube because of the ridges, you need to just buy the cube. it's amazing.

I think the answer for "why would you change it?", is that the gts3 DOES NOT replace the gts2. They should be taken as 2 totally different cubes, and taking that into account, they went for something different just to innovate. Gts2 is not old, can still be bought and used as a main over the gts3, they are just different.
If you turn it to the left too much it will return to the original setting then how the heck are you gonna lube the spring and core?

Go with the gts3m. I just ordered mine a couple days ago. All reviews I watched said they're about the same. Just came down to personal preference. But the gan is more expensive. And its biggest selling point is the interchangeable magnets and springs. But once you find the one you like you wont really be changing them. Plus it takes "longer" to do so then just adjusting it with the tension tool on the gts3m. Plus besides the tool. You dont have to lug all the parts around with you if you do feel the need to make a quick switch

Honestly it pisses me off when people misuse the term OCD. I have OCD, I was diagnosed by a doctor, and it makes my life a fucking nightmare. If the unsolved 17x17 just annoys you, it's OCPD, not OCD. If the unsolved 17x17 stresses you out to the point where you can't watch the video, you probably have OCD.

also, which one do you think is faster, GTS 3 M or HuangLong M?
Huanglong is faster but it is a bad fast because it is too fast and uncontrollable. You would need to slow the Cube down to make it controllable. The gts 3m is almost as fast but it is controllable and a lot more controllable than the huanglong
what I did was I added more magnets to my HuangLong and it feels better now. I don't know how strong GTS3 magnets are, but I make my HuangLong's magnets the same as Gan Air UM's magnets and I can control it better than before

The magnets in this cube are just WAY TOO STRONG. Well to be fair I like weak magnets for instance I think the magnets in the factory magnetized GTS2M were the perfect strength, but still the magnets in the regular gts3m feel about as strong as xman bell Pyraminx magnets.
