    Hey I just picked up two of these C300s for free. Just passing along the info that a 5Amp XLR charger from Amazon can be tricked into charging flat batteries simply by plugging in the charger, powering up the chair, and using a function like tilt or lift for a moment. The charger that I purchased has a light that cycles between red and green but when it's really putting in work, a small fan fires up inside it. This is how you know the process has been successful and you can power off the chair and allow it to charge. I got both of those chairs going with this method. Thanks for your videos on these chairs, they are full of excellent info.

    Ok I’m an ATP and have been repairing wheelchairs since I was 13( mom owned a provider) - Sir you need a jump box. Don’t have that budget? Do what I do: find two old chargers, try for same brand 5amps and up, tape/heat shrink insulation, and a set of wire strippers. You know where I’m going, slice and splice the two cords that end in 3-pin connectors so that you have one on each end. Then take apart each connector and clip the arch solder/cable from the 1 pin to the 3 pin(could be reversed on some chargers brands) then put it all back together. You can now jump a dead PWC from a charged PWC by connecting them with the “jump-cable” from charging port to charging port. BONUS: if you have an extra collapsing scooter battery box, you can switch out the 5 fuse in the front for a 25 fuse connect your jump-cable to the box and then a dead PWC and you remove the need for a second PWC that’s charged. - hopefully that helped someone and I didn’t confuse you😂

      oh i built one years ago, and use it all the time! unfortunately, its on my list of topics that can never be covered in a video.. no matter how many warnings or disclaimers are given, people WILL try and drive their chairs around using one, and melt all the wiring! :^/

    Any recommendations on transporting one of these? I need to get a m300 hd down a small flight of stairs. Not sure if it would be best to try a disassemble it a bit or just try and lift it with a few helping hands. Batteries are also dead and have been sitting dead for 4 years.

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  Před 4 lety +1

      usually 3-4 people are gonna be needed to move one of these.. they dont really come apart easily.. BUT the way id recommend - get some straps, or loops, and attach one to each corner, on each transport bracket.. and get one person on each strap/loop and carry it around that way. lifting the chair using the seating, or any other part can damage things easily - but the transport brackets are solid! good luck!

    • @TotallyNormal-
      @TotallyNormal-  Před 4 lety +1

      the seat elevator and the tilt mechanism are different on the F3 - the vertical post in the front is actually the tilt actuator.. if the seat is stuck in the up position - there's 2 actuators responsible for that - and there isn't really a simple manual override for lowering it back down. in my experience trying to use any allen wrenches just breaks things on the F3 :^/ its something a permobil rep, or DME shop has to fix...

    I always wondered why the allen was so long. the VA does not consider lift to be important, so none of my chairs have it, I have tilt for pain management, but no lift. there are times I kinda miss using my Permobil, but I really am getting good use out of my Frontier V6 these days. just wondering, do you know anyone with a really good deal on the city tires for the V6? when I am just running around town, I feel like I am wearing down my knobbies for nothing. but when I go out in the woods, I really see the benefit of them.

I got wood dust mixed into the gease. I have been cleaning the post with WD40 then wiping it clean. I got noise grinding, and a bit of rumble. How hard is it to get into where the gears are so I can clean it out? I am really worried. Is this a really big deal? Its not a G3. It’s older than that. Maybe 2K miles on it. HELP? Thank You! @TotallyNormal-  Před 10 měsíci

      hey! so they operate with an allthread rod type arrangement.. there's a motor that connects to the big drive screw with a cogged belt in the base of the chair. removing it requires some kinda hoist..
      2 videos for ya - a super old one with a 2g C300
      czcams.com/video/QMwFqBpm96o/video.html
      and a newer videos that's more detailed with a 3G chair, BUT shows more of the innerworkings of the lift (both chairs use the same exact seat lift mechanism)
      the second video is probably a bit more helpful :^)
      once ya get the thing out of the chair, ya can take it apart and inspect the drive threads inside the lift tube.. lots of work, but not really 'complicated'

      @TotallyNormal-  Před 3 lety

      so the F3 is different.. and honestly i haven't gotten it to work on the newer chairs.. the service manual tells about a procedure to adjust the height, but things just break anytime i try.. HOWEVER it is possible to get the batteries out of the chair without raising the seat lift! the service manual is on the website.. but the section on how to elevate the chair manually doesn't make a lot of sense.. www.brokenwheelchairs.com but if ya remove the 2 thumb screws on the top cover, ya can slide it back and access the batteries in pretty much whatever position the seating is in! ive also got a video on battery replacement for the F3.
