I’d like to see a Legiin vs a 92 LTT. Langdon compact.
Thanks for the very nice comparison video. However, I would have liked to see you compare a P226 instead of the P229, it would have been more of an "apples to apples" comparison to the Beretta.
You paying 1700 for him to review it??
It's the exact same gun only 3/4" longer in the slide and about an eighth of an inch taller. My P229 Legion is a little quicker out of the holster and on target than my P226 Legion, with a tad less muzzle flip due the shorter slide. They're both super nice and very easy to shoot and control.
A bunch of old men cheer on their favorites. I'm with the misses on the Sig, most of my friends are into Berrettas, to each their own.
Beretta, not Berretta.
I carry the 229 legion every day. Appendix at that. With the right holster, you can carry anything.
Likewise, I carry a P229 DA/SA AIWB.
What holster do you use? I’ve had a semi hard time finding one I like for mine
@@erichouston8605 check out JMCK - JM custom Kydex for P229 holsters.
Never shot the P229 Legion or the M9A3, but I have shot the standard/ larger Sig P226 and the standard Beretta 92. Personally I like the Beretta 92 better and shoot that much better. Can't go wrong with either pistols though and they're both some of my favorites.
I have both, love them. Especially suppressed! Nice review as always!
I own the P229 Legion and this was an excellent and accurate review. Glad you mentioned the short-reset trigger (which is a Legion upgrade) and the low-profile controls. The low-profile slide release in particular is a pain in the ass. Supposedly they did that on purpose as anti-snag, but this really isn’t a gun many people would carry IWB so I question the trade-off there. One of my favorite guns to shoot also. I have not shot the Beretta or one of its relatives, but I am sure I will add one to my collection one day.
I have a Beretta 92fs and the 229 legion. Both are awesome though the Sig was twice the price. I’d recommend either but for the money the Beretta is awesome. Also, the standard 92fs has a safety decocker so you can flick the decocker down and the trigger is disabled making gun completely safe to carry with 1 in the chamber. So if you want a manual safety on your gun the Beretta 92fs is the way to go.
The sig is smaller, or at least shorter and easier to conceal.
Thanks for the video.
Carry the P229 legion every day. Have not shot a Beretta M9 since I left the army.
I have the Beretta 92FS. Great gun. Fun to shoot. Smooth and accurate. I paid $650 for it. Well worth the money.
Sig 229 is a tank of the handgun works. Good luck trying to break it.
Had no idea you lived in SC. I live in Florence SC , you??
Nice job 👍
Love my M9A3, mine is in black with no threaded barrel and only 10 rounds (Ct). A great easy shooter
One of these days a P226 Legion will be in my collection. The 92 LTT over the M9a3. But the M9A3 is great.
Both look like some fun guns to shoot. I've never gotten to handle or shoot either but hope to one of these days. Both look like they'd be great home defense pistols.
I love the M9A3…it’s a smooth shooting beast…I recently purchased the Sig AXG Scorpion and it’s giving the M9A3 a run for its money
I love my beretta but there’s just something special about the 229 and 226 ❤
I have an older P229 made in 2007 with German made frame in 40 S&W and it is my goto handgun. It has a Lasermax guide rod light. It is my home defense and favorite range gun next to the PX4 Storm (you really should take a look at the PX4 Storm). It is carried in an owb Craft pancake style leather holster and stoked with Barnes TAC-XP 140 g JHP solids. Sights are Meprolight MH3 .
Both are really great pistols. I'm a Southpaw. The Beretta makes more sense to me & I have experience w/the M9, but side by side, I shoot a P229 much better. My standard advice, for what it's worth, is to shoot both then decide. As a 'his & hers' combo, you two have the best of both worlds!
I’ll take the Beretta every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Drop a Langdon Tactical trigger in a bag ....in the M9A3 and it blows the sig out of the water.
Inject it!!!
The only Beretta I've ever owned was a shotgun That I bought in 1980. I put literally thousands of rounds through it and only had to replace 2 parts in 30 years. I gave it to my son and it's still running like it should. My house gun is a Sig P 220 in 45acp which I love. It would be my carry gun if it wasn't so big so I carry a Canik tp 9 elite sc which is an excellent gun for a striker fired pistol. It's trigger is extremely good. I still miss the DA/SA with a decocker but choices must be made for the circumstances.
I have a Sig P226 Legion and a Beretta LTT and I replaced the hammer spring on the Beretta with a 12 pound and the trigger on the Beretta is ridiculous.
Wait to you try the Beretta 92X performance. Maybe you already have but it’s amazing
These two are some of the best pistols ever made. So it's not which is better but which one you feel like shooting that day.
I have a 229 legion and a Beretta and m9a4. If I had to choose one it would be the 229 but I enjoy shooting in Beretta
I'd opt for the Beretta with its lower bore axis.
I have a M9A3 G-style but one thing that I’ll always prefer is the decocker location on the Sig 226/229
Nice build!
I have the Legion 229 SAO. It has a flat trigger.Same triigger weight every pull.
I own the P229 Legion. It's a mag reload finger pincher....but it's my bedside gun....and I Love it!
Now I need to decide between the M9A3 and A4. Yes, I realize, I've now got a problem. I know, just buy both. But which one first?
I love both and want both in my safe one day
You’ve put it well, I have shot and carried the 229, you have interested me with the beretta
Not sure if you can go wrong with either one. P226 would be a better comparison. I’ve only shot the beretta but it wasn’t the A3 I thought it was a nice shooter just wasn’t a huge fan of the slide mounted decocker.
I don’t mind the 11 pound pull in the DA of the 229. I like the safety factor of the 11 lbs pull if I was going to carry it. I have no desire to carry but I can see the point if the 11 lbs DA pull. I have practiced frequently with the DA pull and I get a very accurate first shot. It’s all about training with what you have. Nice video
I'd say 229 right now, but I really want to get a Beretta so I can compare. Got my eye on a 92X.
I'll take the P229. Thank you.
To me they are both great guns and it would be hard to choose just one .
Solid review. Sig legions are definitely cream of the crop 💪🏿👍🏿
A big DA SA fan, big Beretta fan. Nice review 👍. If you can get your hands on a Wilson Combat Beretta.
I bought two Wilson combat beretta 92g with trigger jobs. Outstanding work .
Alloy frames, not steel... both excellent guns. Own both and I would send either one for an action job right off the bat. Otherwise, the decock-only 92 series pistols are hard to beat- the Langdon trigger job in a bag really perfects them. The P229 is a great pistol, but Sig's QC has taken a serious dive in the past several years, and I would absolutely have the trigger components professionally worked over before carrying it. Sig used to be known to have such high quality, that ALL pistols were premium. Now, you have to buy the Legion gimmick to ensure near-premium quality.
I just got a 92x RDO compact for my carry gun, but now I want a M9A4, What's the difference between the A3 & A4?
Beretta makes a nice leather holster for IWB that makes the m9a3 workable at 3 o’clock.
I carry a 92A1 IWB without a holster. There are hundreds of iwb holsters that work fine.
What do you think about the current 92XI or M9A4 vs the current P229 Legion.?
Good video BTW! Second viewing!
I have both, and I love both. 😁👍✌
I like them both but I would take the M9A3 any day all day!!
I so wish they would make a subcompact variation on the 92/M9 that would be suitable for a lady's carry.
I had a 92FS Compact and it was not all that Compact in all actuality. 🤣. Love my 92x, prefer it to my 92FS (yes, I’m a Beretta guy, although I shoot my P229 better.)
@@peterrussell798 I've seen footage of the 92fs compact and you're right, it's not that small. That's why I said what I said in my original comment.
I have the 92X full size non performance, 92S Italian and 226 legion da/sa. All fit my hand well, the dependability on all is flawless. Beretta USA does not stand behind their warranty (the absolute worst manufacturer to deal with out of all of my gun brands), sig sauer warranty is fantastic, therefor sig for the win by a long shot. Do not through cz in the mix because that may win.
TALON grips... Perfect for my Beretta.... and now= accuracy : rubber grips...FYI
The Sig Legion is also be of the best guns I’ve ever owned. Probably the best! But love Berettas also but the Sig is the real deal!
LOVE all of my Legion pistols! Triggers smooth out after a few hundred rounds and become super smooooth! One mod I did have done that I can suggest to others is that I sent my P229 Legion 40/357 in to Sig and had them install their short reach trigger in the gun. Cost was reasonable, turn around was quick and the short reach trigger really helps give you just that little bit of added muscle leverage needed to be able to consistently pull the heavier double action trigger smoothly to the rear. Beretta M9A3 is very nice as well. Not quite as refined as my Legions IMO, but still a very smooth, accurate pistol. Don't feel that it's as nice as my Wilson Combat Beretta 92G Vertec Centurion, or my Langdon Tactical 92G Elite LTT, but it's a huge improvement over most of the old stock Beretta 92s.
Which do you think has the best trigger overall? SIG Legion, LTT Beretta or WC?
@@user-wt9il2xl4g I was looking at either the M9A4 and putting the NP3 Trigger Job from LTT or the Legion. Have you tried a LTT Beretta trigger job vs your LTT Elite? I was under the impression they were pretty much the same guns with the trigger parts, steel guide rod, hammer, NP3 and carry bevels being the main differences. I’d like it to be red dot ready and not really a fan of proprietary parts from Langdon even if it’s a superior mounting system
@@user-wt9il2xl4g report back!
@@user-wt9il2xl4g not too surprised that Legion trigger is crazy good. I’ve decided I’m gonna pick up a 92x RDO and do the LTT upgrade for sure. It’ll be my first hammer fired gun 😄
@@user-wt9il2xl4g I was between full size and centurion but I think I decided on full size cause I plan on putting a TLR1 and threaded barrel on it anyways. It really won’t be for carry and if I do it won’t be much. Plan on a Philster Floodlight for it. I’ll stick with the Macro for daily. Still need to find the funds for the Beretta for now but that’s easier than all the research lol
had a legion, liked it but traded it for an M11A1 which I liked much better.not a fan of the M9A3, Got the M9A4much better looking than the M9A3 AND set up for a red dotter the same price as the M9A3 which wasn't red dot ready.
Love the sig , haven't shot the Beretta but welcome the opportunity
That sig legion has some creep still. my regular 229 legacy with oem srt kit and short reach trigger got no creep and shortest most positive reset.
My beretta m91a with D ring, WC sketetal decocker, and springs has one of the best triggers...even better than the 229 and m9a3 in video.
The M9A3 in video has too much pre travel. My M9a1 doesn't have any pre or over travel with most positive and accurate trigger.
Any guns really, you can put in work on trigger and make it better. It just lots of trying with matching different parts. You don't want a hair trigger though because that's invite for accidental discharges. I got lots of glocks, 1911s, CZs, ..etc 80% good trigger is enough to keep unless you want to go crazy tuning it non-stop.
been want the p229 for awhile now im trading my m9a3 for it and i have to say ...its sad because that gun is absolutely amazing
Beretta for me. My M9A3 is the most accurate, soft shooting, reliable pistols I've ever shot. Also, a small correction that it is an aluminum frame. I'm not sure what the 229's is.
Both are alloy frame.
Where do you rank a Wilson combat edc x9?
I have the sig 226 legion and standard beretta 92. I'll take the legion. I know that's not apples to apples, but the sig feels better in my hand than the 92 and I like the controls better as well. But over all, my fav is my cz 75 tactical sport. I like it better than both the 226 and the 92 for feel and control and it has the most light weight and smoothest trigger I have ever shot.
Very cool guns! The Beretta looks like a 21st century version of a Walther p38. Since you and Mrs. H have had the privilege of shooting both Walther and Beretta is there any comparison? Of course the Beretta is newer, cleaner, and sexier but those Germans have a knack of making great machines
Good stuff
Try Wilson Combat beretta 92g with action enhancement. I have P229 with action enhancement. I think Wilson combat 92g Centurion has the better trigger and rest
Reset.
I seen a M9a3 when they first released and I didn't buy it now I'm searching for one like a junky searching for a rock 😂
Serious man… wish I got them when they were under $1000…. I Shoudlve copped way before covid :/
@@KidWitHearts I have a baretta 92x performance in layaway it will be my first baretta but definitely not the last if you're still looking I just seen a M9a3 on GunBroker for bid
Agree 100 %
@@KidWitHearts prices don’t seem much better here in 2022. I picked up an M9A3, type G in black back in April 2019 for $850 out the door. I would also get a Walther Q4 TAC and a Walther Q5 Match for $675 and $775 respectively out the door in late 2019.
Unfortunately the pandemic and government put my FFL out of business in 2020.
I have both and I have to say the 229 is a smoother shooter, recoil feels great and just melts in my hand. As for the m9a3 I just can’t find a way to get a comfortable grip on it, well for me others might find it great.
I carry a SIG P220 legion iwb everyday. Perhaps it’s the thinness that makes it easy to iwb. The Beretta is a nice firearm and I shoot them well, it’s a love/hate relationship with me. I don’t carry 9mm, I don’t trust it. The SIG feels more reliable and has proven to be a more reliable handgun in terms of parts breakage and rounds before stoppage.
Big sig person myself but the berretta is a great shooter.
Beretta
I disagree . I believe they are great carry guns . I used to carry a S&W 5906 in a Galco Miami Vice shoulder holster as a secondary and a Beretta 92 FS in a Galco S.O.B. on my waist as my primary . Not too heavy ( IMO not heavy at all . Never thought about weight to the best of my memory ). Concealed under a suit coat or sports coat in my dress shirt and tie days . I never had a problem with concealed edc .
M9A3 G model , all day .
Love my 229. In SAO (;
Too bad Sig didn't offer the Legion's with the standard slide stop..That's most peoples only complaint..
If i had the chance of buying a firearm. These would be my choices
I don't know checkered grip but i know her hot older sister, knurled grip. She's a one of a kind!
Beretta is a good gun but it’s too big. I prefer the sa trigger of the Sig over the Beretta also. P229 all day.
Not even really close, I don’t even own either of these but I’ve shot (basically) them both and the sig is much much better.
I'm gonna go there v the range and rent a Beretta
I wonder how long it’ll be before we hear from service men how bad the Sig Sauer is versus the Baretta. Resistance to change and familiarity will raise its ugly head.
SIG by far, at least this one was build like it supposed to be not like the it younger sibling the P365. If I had the money would never waste it on the M9.
The only thing better than a 229 Legion, is a 226 Legion lol
You did not just say bore axis.
I am going to have to go with your wife on this one. Sig all the way!
Sig P229 SAO Hands down better
The Baretta's are some of the softest shooting 9's I have ever shot!
Beretta, not Baretta.
Noice
I hate Beretta's customer service. I like beretta pistol but hate the company
Canik TP9 Elite series is a great shooter
I used to lust over those 2 guns when I was young and broke. Upon trying the plastic fantastic strikers, I have no desire for overly complicated hammer guns.
plastic strikers seem Unsafe, top heavy, and... well plastic. Crack that frame and its over. Many many people have shot themselfs with strikers, including many police. Not aware of a single self shooting with a DA/SA. DA/SA seems much much better, but different strokes for different folks :)
The CZ 75 is better than both!
No
Nope.
How can anyone take you seriously with all that graffiti.
M9A3 hands down. Lol
5inch barrel. New and approved packaged. Nightsights at stock.
Threaded for if you do have some quiet cans.
Unmatched reliability. Never jams. Will last 70years+
Give me a Beretta 92 everyday.
