    Thanks for a very well done review, on a fantastic pistol. I bought one of these, in .40 caliber, last month (Nov. '16). I'm not married (haha), so I "rewarded" myself with this pistol, for my birthday. I have over 30 handguns, but this one is in a league of its' own. I'd always wanted a SIG, but just hadn't got serious about shelling out the money for one. Man, I'm glad I did! As you say, this is a truly beautiful pistol, both in appearance, and as a shooter. When not at the range, this thing is just nice to look at, hold, dry-fire, and admire. This pistol almost calls out to you, "I'm ready! Let's go throw some lead!". It's top-of-the-line in ergonomics. Every part was designed for use and function. And, it is made to shoot fast! It has quickly become a favorite, for the range, and in my collection. I'd have no problem recommending this pistol to anyone who wants a top-notch pistol. I also feel that it is worth the money. Myself, I paid $1,179 (Nov. '16) for mine, and feel that I got a great deal, and my money's worth, as compared to the $1,359 retail price. This is my first SIG, and I'm in love with it!

The trigger is amazing as are the sights! This is the first gun that I didn't feel that I had to change something out of the box.

  • @steveroach4895
    @steveroach4895 Před 7 lety +3

    I picked up one of these a few months ago. It is amazing right out of the box. All I've ever done to it is shoot, clean and lube. The only thing I may do to it is get the short reach trigger as it is a bit far in DA mode. Single action is as good as my Kimber Pro Carry II. I carry either but it is nice to have 5 more rounds in the mag. I have had zero failures so far with the Sig. I had extractor issues with the Kimber. I did send the Kimber back to get it fixed and it is 100% so far. I still trust the Sig more...
    Thanks for the vids!

    it blows my mind how many people are crying about not wanting to scratch their guns. wear marks and scratches let you and others know that toy know how to use your gun. fondling it with white gloves and wiping it down with a Egyptian Cotton cloth every day will not make you a better marksman. I always spend a little more for my guns and I'm never afraid of a scratch, I welcome them.

    • @Blakgun
      @Blakgun Před 6 lety +1

      That was a problem with a specific serial number range when they first came out. Sig outsourced the finish work to a company that did a lousy job. The problem was resolved years ago. But because these guns sometimes sit on shelves for a long time before being sold for the first time it keeps cropping up. And that's why guys sometimes say they just bought a brand new Legion with a bad finish. If they look at the serial number it is always from a few years ago.

    • @Tain950
      @Tain950 Před 5 lety +2

      The Legion shouldn’t have a bad finish especially for the price it retails for. The SIG 226 and 229 are great guns but if I could improve anything on them it would definitely be the finish.

    Nice vid, thanks for sharing. One point about something you said concerning the slide-lock being small. I understand the point and many others agree with you, but..., for me it is GREAT.
    I have largish hands and with my grip the slide never locks back on other Sigs I have shot. I bought the P226 and without that feature I very may have passed. There are many things I love about the Legion but, for me, the price is steep. I doubt I would have purchased it if I thought the slide wouldn't lock open after last shot.
    I know many will say or think that I should adjust my grip, but it's my grip and I prefer to own pistols that fit me rather than me adjusting to the particular platform. That being said I want to make clear that the only con of the Sis P226 Legion is the price tag. I love everything about it. This pistol is in my everyday carry rotation and I love it! The P226 ranks up there with my CZ 75B and if money were not an obstacle I would buy the P229 Legion in a heartbeat.
    Thanks again for the video.

Tacops Carry and Spartan Carry...By far the best firearms I own. I outshoot my red dot super-Glocks with my Sig's all day long with iron sights. The trigger on my Spartan Carry came in at 4.2 lbs and my 229 Elite that's broken in came in at a crisp 3.4 lbs!!! (not double action obviously). Crazy awesome triggers. Love my Sig's!!!

    I bought this gun back in February and carry it almost every day IWB (after saving for quite a long time). I was concerned about it being too big/heavy, but with the right setup, it's really not that bad. I live in an open carry state and anywhere else I go is also pretty gun friendly, so printing isn't really that big of a deal. I freaking love it. Weight has never been that big of a deal for me, and with a decent belt, I don't really notice it....
    Just my two cents on it.

    I have had many sigs over the years, I have liked them but at times I have had up to 80 handguns. I have handled many more. I am a master firearms trainer. I have the sig legion in the 229 and 226, along with what I call the mini legion the P225A1 Every word you speak of the legion is true. It is the best well worth the money. The smaller slide stop works great for me. The problem I had with sigs is that I tend to shoot with my thumbs high, coming from extensive use of 1911's. Keeping my thumbs high has always caused me to depress the slide stop on sigs and never have it actuate on the last round. The legions slide stop has eke jarred this problem. Looking forward to try out the new Legion, pick it up tomorrow. I've had lots of Sigs and lots of Glocks, my main complaint about Sigs was the high bore axis which always seemed more flippy (A G20 is better on that than even the Sig P220 10mm, which is Heavy) - which I always justified because I can't think of a Sig I've ever had that couldn't put bullets in a 2" group at 25 meters, regardless of the ammo.

    I haven't finished watching the video yet, I'm still watching. but wanted to comment about the price you just stated.
    A lot of people complain about the price of Sig pistols, but I never hear anyone complain about how well they shoot, how they feel in the hand (after a long day at the range) or about their reliability. My only complaint about Sig pistols (other than the P250 and P320) is that I'm left handed so hitting the decocker switch is a bit of a chore, either have to give up my "proper grip" to bring my thumb over and push it, or I gotta give it a reach around with my right hand and still pull back my grip hand to do it.
    But when it comes to being able to handle rugged use and being dependable through anything (and usually more than) it's "competitors",
    there is a reason Sig can claim "to hell and back"

      @@jtlinard3627 lol I get it I'd probably be the same way if I already owned the standard 226 too.. I saw the mk25 in fde with the Romeo mounted on it and couldn't believe it doesn't come with the SRT?? Why have all the goodies without it? But I didn't know the SRT kit was that cheap I honestly thought about buying it tonight lol

    Sig makes the best da/sa triggers by a long shot. P229 and P220 carry are my favorite sig pistols, and these legion series are a work of art. I can't carry a legion in good conscious because I would be checking for scratches and holster wear all day long lol. My p320c fills that role

    Enjoyed the video, like always, definitely the weapon looks like it's built to handle +P rounds, which should not be a problem, the recoil action and the quick accusation , was great from what I could see , right back on target, maybe one here and there got away, but we all have that , breaking a new weapon , well thanks again to you and your wife , for showing me a new tool that I will need to get into my retirement funds and take this new shooter out on a hot date at the range.

    Beautiful gun, but I do have a correction, you stated this is the only model with front cocking serrations. That is not correct the elite models also have them... minor, nit picky, detail. I own the P229 Elite Talo edition in .40 s&w and it is a nice soft shooter, and a serious cause for envy at the range... you made a great choice I love the gray finish on these. As for squeezing the last round into the mags, leave them fully loaded in between range trips until the springs break in.

    I have a p229 in .40 with a factory nickel satin finish and night sights that I bought new back in the 90s. It is the only one I have ever seen with this finish and it has worn like iron. It is super accurate and has over 10k rounds through it. I would take it over the Legion any day. I also have a West Germany 9mm p226 and a p239 in .40 also great guns. I’m waiting now to see the p365 but then who isn’t?

I'm sure it's not just me because I can shoot servile other pistols fine and I have had servile other people shoot my legion also with similar results. amazing gun so far 600rds so far but it is aggravating that I'm going to have to adjust the windage a bit(never adjusted pistol sights before makes me a little nervous)

    I've had the P229 Legion since April but just got a chance to shoot it this week. I love everything about the gun but I wasn't crazy about my accuracy from 7 yards even though my 75 shot group was no bigger than a saucer. I was shooting into the sun and had difficulty centering the front sight. I'm surprised you guys didn't do better. There's no way I'd carry this so a holster isn't that important but for range purposes this gun as well as the P226 Scorpion fits perfectly in the free OWB holster Sig gives you when you buy a P320C. Another thing. The little cardboard carry case is about useless. I mean, really, what are you going to do with this piece of crap? :)
