My goal for 2024 is to have all SWSH alt arts. Luckily I’ve pulled some of the big cards, Moonbreon, Giratina v, 2 charizard v, as well as many others, and have all of the Eeveelutions from ES.

Good picks but you forget that people actually do play the game, and when cards are used in meta decks, prices rise, good example is the Palkia Alt Art, probably seeing a boom right now due to some decks running it. Remember the cards are also used to play the game and not just to collect. People buy MP or LP cards since they are going to use the cards in the deck so they are going to get damages anyways. Don’t sleep on the tcg game, helps when buying cards in the short term and long term
Yes im aware, But even for players I don't ever recommend buying mp cards when the nm is $5 difference. Everybody uses sleeves. The cards don't really get damaged playing the game unless you're a kid. As someone who didn't miss a prerelease for 10 years and I play magic I always used to buy MP cards for decks and I always regretted it when I went to sell the cards later on. So I always buy nm now. You will thank me when it's a card that booms in price and you actually have a nice copy. But yea I should talk about the tcg more. Just been out of it the last couple years cuz I don't have the time since we had our baby.
Only one I wouldn't be comfortable buying at these prices knowing it would go up in the future is the Mew Vmax, the art just doesn't look like an alt. Its similar to the Single Strike Urshifu Vmax from battlestyles, legit just looks like a regular Vmax card. Have picked up a few more beedrills and celebi recently, both very very undervalued imo. Even picked up the Japanese celebi in a psa 10 a few months ago, it was a promo but hard to find, and it looks even better than the english. If I were to add any more from this list (not counting beedrill/celebi) it would probably be the Articuno.
I didn't know pokemon card had a price so i had a pokemon card shop them sell my giratina alt art lost origin card to my brother- Ye i know i shouldn't done some research before selling it
Good calls. The Leafeon Vmax was my chase. Love that artwork since I live in the country myself. Thinking about buying a second copy because I like it so much. Heck, maybe I’ll get three haha! But I have been scooping up AR, IR and SIR cards like crazy lately while the prices are cheap.
personally i like a lot of V alt arts more than Vmaxes, a lot of them just look better than the Vmaxes. i prefer the Rayquaza V alt art over the Vmax especially cause Zinnia is on it haha which adds way more value especially if you played Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire.
@@PokeBeardTCG I’m definitely happy that you gave that card the spotlight it deserves! What are your thoughts on the new Charizard Ex from Paldean Fates? Do you think that card will increase in value overtime? Or will Charizard cards produced today stay stagnant?
@SaberkiddASMR I think the new charizard will definitely do much better than the obsidian flames ones but yea it's not a great time to be charizard right now. I think he will bounce back. I really think the brilliant stars alt will start to go crazy down the road

@SaberkiddASMR its just kind of known as the worst set collector wise in scarlet and violet so its getting a bad wrap and this is the shiny version and the shiny version usually always goes for more. But if you can get the obsidian flames charizard for cheap definitely a good pick up
The pop reports are huge. The price of these cards is too reliant on demand which no one can predict. Great collection pieces but incredibly speculative as an investment.
I don't collect modern Japanese because I like to play and like to read the cards. I also sell cards for a living and I sell 1 Japanese Card to every 10 English. But I would take that card in any language.

Even my evolving skies booster boxes that I got at $200 are almost 600 now😂😂😂 you sound dumb. Or should we talk about tag team that's now over $2,000 for a $90 box?

Lucky! My son pulled the Roaring Moon SIR from his Paradox Rift booster box. He was pretty darn lucky to pull the top chase card of the set.
