I did it without too, but I could have def used that!!! I just beat the game 15 minutes ago, first souls game I've ever beaten in my life. I never played these games since I'd rage quit after 1 day of playing it. I've gained so much patience, I don't even get upset after dying 1000 times. I've noticed the only thing that really will set me off is when I'm rolling away but there is an object or wall in the way so I'm stuck rolling in the same spot over and over again. Since I'm locked on to the enemy it's hard to avoid that at times haha.
This! I searched for the location of this ring and found this video precisely because I got stuck against Sulyvahn and realized stamina was a key factor to win this fight! A couple tries later and I managed to beat him! I’m so happy right now haha 😆

Matthew O'Neill I'm surprised anyone would avoid this area or miss it entirely. The whole background is visible from the first bonfire and the third bonfire in Undead Settlement.
Thank goodness for the Binoculars I found, or the Longbow, crossbow. All function as binoculars.
I know man. I miss really obvious shit like that all the time. First time I played fallout 3 I completely missed megaton until I was around 40 hours in. Lol
I never look at guides in any games, except Dark Souls, and I dont even look guides for bosses, but to understanding how the game works and all the hidden stuff there is like NPC questlines because you may not find it for yourself or its just time consuming and I dont have the time (or intention) to search though the whole area just to achieve some stuff
Damn I hope you got to play elden ring. If you liked ds3 that much you would love elden ring. So much to explore.

if you're still having trouble, aggro the two and get them to come down the stairs so you have more room to run. if you run fast enough they shouldn't chase you, i did it this way my first time

+Luca Crotti step on the elevator to activate it, then step off quickly and let it go down on its own. a second platform to the elevator will come down

It's easy to figure out the Undead Settlement elevator once we are greeted by Siegward. He tells us he wants to go up but doesn't know how "Hmm...Hmm." Implying he needs us to think about this. Once you activate the elevator to go down, naturally, we needed to go up right? We needed to talk with the Giant Bow user, right? Just like Siegward told us, right???
So yes, go back on the elevator and OH WOW, Siegward is gone, but how? There are TWO platforms on this elevator. Activate the pressure plate again and walk off this first platform, as the elevator moves, the second platform is coming down to you from above.
Yay.
So now as you go up you'll hear Siegward again because his attention has detoured. To find out, you must roll off the platform onto the scaffold when the time comes, usually when you hear his voice.
BUT FIRST, THIS WHOLE THING WAS ABOUT THE GIANT SO GO AND TALK TO HIM.
I read on the guide that you need a white branch from the white tree first to befriend him, so I guess grab that first. I did have them on my character, but I doubt you need it.

I know this post is old but if anyone comes across this, step on the elevator and get off. As it goes down there is a second elevator platform on top of it that will come down.

+SpazAlicious Not really, you could probably use a different ring that replaces that one and you would not notice any difference, but I didn't realize there was a better version in ng++ so maybe it is a necessity. I would still take any other ring that would probably be more useful than that ring considering I could always just use the grass crest shield or a green blossom.
