After having lived with someone for two years who owned this toaster, I can say that it is an amazing product. We never experienced these bun sizing issues and the dogs would always come out perfect.

2. I've owned this product for several years and use it weekly.
3. You need to retest using my instructions:
A. Discard the enclosed instructions
B. Cook the hot dog (preferably a natural casing Weiner) for one cycle without the bun on any setting.
C. Press down lightly on the bun (do no squish it) and place it in the device and cycle it one more time with the hot dog using the highest setting.
4. Apply your condiments and enjoy.

I think it might be a holder or what not. Because if it’s for the buns, when she pushed it down the lever should have gone down along there too. And you can see that when she pushed the lever on the right up all of them went up.

Yeah, I bought this exact toaster, and found everything you found wrong with it is true. Way disappointing. I was actually looking into the toaster when it made the pop you had, and it's juices from the hot dogs hitting the heating elements, and arcing/sparking. Unnerving to say the least.

Alix, there is another side where you can use to push down the buns. and the tongue where like that because you can use them to remove the hotdog cage instead of removing the hotdogs individually.

I usually just fry up my hot dogs in oil a little bit and then put a little butter on the buns and toast them in a frying pan problem solved lol

Buy a fitness ball and try to balance on it. My record is almost 5 minutes. You will definetly spend at least 10-15 minutes everyday.
P.S: don't do this close to something fragile/ that could hurt you
EDIT: make shure the ball is strong enough to hold you. The site you buy it from should say how much weigh it can hold

I own this toaster and it’s amazing!!! Tastes just like it would on the grill! Only problem I ever noticed is sometimes the buns burn and the tongs it comes with are useless.
I like to put the buns down first at a lower temperature and then do the hot dogs.
I got this for Christmas! Lol I love it. Makes some good hot dogs.

i bought the same hot dog toaster over a year ago, i think i paid $15 for it (minus shipping & handling). I think it works great, i used the cheap hot dogs and buns from market pantry (target) and got good results. the only things that i didnt like about it was the tongs and the cheaply made materials (the spring), otherwise i say its good considering how cheap it was. If it was a $50 or more expensive toaster then yea id say its not worth it. but if you consider how much the product costs vs its performance, then it rates higher than what was shown here. Ive had a normal toaster that costs at least $40 that didnt work at all and couldnt get a refund on. so i think if you are going to review the product i think its also worth taking into consideration of how much the product costs. (ok rant done)

I found another hot dog "toaster" called the Elite Cuisine EHD-051R from Amazon. It seems to be much more of like a gas-station hot dog machine, with the transparent top to show the turning hot dogs, and a bun warmer below that, also with a little transparent door that says Elite Cuisine on it. This one though doesn't even have heat settings to it. Just a timer, and 2 indicator lights. This one though can hold up to 4 hot dogs, and 4 buns, instead of just 2 each.
