This guy needs to run for office. He tell these career politicians how it is.
.. Ya I think there is someone called Pres TRUMP!!!!
Hell YES!!
lovejago… You nailed it, now we just need to give him all of our support...Trump 2020!
@ Trump 20/20 Patriots fight fight fight that means get out there and vote
@ Greedy businessmen are the ones who sold their country out. So if you elect a greedy businessman to lead a country, your country will be sold out a lot faster.
Our "leaders" did this to us. Both sides of the aisle sold us out. We the consumers are guilty of perpetuating this for want of cheap products. Thanks for you honesty!
"Free trade" agreements did this to us. Big business + crooked/greedy/treasonous politicians are responsible.
Uh, WE kinda' did it ourselves
Every Amazon click and Walmart trip, without checking where things come from...
And that quite simply is what happened to the automotive industry. Don’t blame me I’ve never owned a Kia.
@@darryllspalding5211 That Kia has better quality than any of the big three. We've been through this already with Japan. Originally Japan's products were inferior, but the price was right in the 70's. Japan improved their quality on all fronts. US manufactures had to step up. I'm not sure a US vehicle would live to 100k if not for that market pressure.
@@darryllspalding5211 if the big 3 had the good quality of imports back in the 90s, then they wouldn't have needed a bailout. Toyota has more made-in-USA parts than the big 3.
Walk into a Walmart the majority of stuff you see will be in the landfill in two years.
It won`t last that long. Usually blows up after the warranty expires, if it lasts that long.
You go into a Walmart not caring if it lasts, you just need it cheap.
@@kineticsurf cheap no local manufacturing and business has been wiped out I would love to patronize a locally owned hardware store.
Tools are a great example. My great grandfather used to say the tools come out when you are worried about fixing something, you shouldn't have to worry about fixing your tools.
before we yell at the consumer, let's yell at the CEO who decided to out source the work to China in the first place so they could line their own pockets.
I agree with all that Tim said and also agree with you. I am also like Tim I like to buy USA made, fuck that China shit!
35 percent tax on every thing manufactured here. The taxes go up, minimum wage goes up. How much can they raise prices before you stop buying. They already went up to that point. For the companies to survive they have to find a way to keep competitive.
+Marcus Talley. How do you come up with those numbers? 35%?
You do know that the U.S. corporate tax rate is 35 percent for all manufacturerers. That is before it ships.
+Marcus Talley. ok but they do get tax brakes that help them you know that right.
this guy is a bamf, id work for this guy for free
LMAO “I got the trash can and threw the shit in there” 😂😂😂 fuckin dying here
MR.TIM you are 1000% correct sir! Well said. Thank you.
how many times can I hit the like button? like like like
Preach it brother Tim! I totally agree with everthing your saying!
what camera do you use ??
Absolutely agree - the Midwest has been hollowed out and the formerly wealthy cities like Detroit, Buffalo, Cleveland, etc. are shells of what they used to be.
Totally agree it’s the same for us in Australia
In Poland too.
Yeah we get screwed in the arse
AGREED Tim. I used to work in aerospace manufacturing. We had to close the shop because our primary customer ( a U.S. owned company ) built a factory in china and took most of the jobs we were doing ( except military ) and sent them to china !!!!
I guess that explains why we've been having so many plane crashes in recent years.
What did you film this video with?
We had a president in 1984 that gave tax breaks to corporations to move overseas. He said he was going to make America a service country. He did just that. We said back then by American made. People rushed to Walmart and bought foreign made everything.
Here we are. Now we flip burgers.
Tim you are spot on. Thank you for putting it out there.
I can't believe that there is someone who hates Chinese part's more than me lol, I'm with you 100% go man go
If every American just took one day a week and only purchased stuff made in the USA it would put enough into our economy to benefit them in the long run.
More importantly we need domestic manufacturing for times like we're in right now. The fact that companies are scrambling to try and make simple masks and ppe right now is disgusting. If this isn't a wake-up call for this country to bring manufacturing back to the US/Canada and Mexico then I don't know what.
Just out of curiosity. ..Tim who do you think makes the highest quality AN fittings or who do you recommend?
Totally agree! But where is the camera you shot this on from?
I agree with parts of what you are saying, but you are NOT looking at it from where it started. Greed is where it started. Greedy CEO's and people who believe they have to make millions every year to be THE KING... Most people here cannot afford to even use your services because they don't make enough to pay your prices. So they either don't continue their racing hobby or have to go to an alternative. The US never gave any alternatives. Very few companies the actually produce a product, keep people working AND prices down because their top people have to make millions so that they are KING!!!
I totally agree that the OWNER/CEO should make his worth, but lets be honest, no one is worth $30K PER HOUR!!!! Many thing they are and many have ultimately supported that, but at the exact COST you are talking about.. It's the PICKET FENCE thing that our government brainwashed us all with starting so heavily in the 50's and 60's.. Today it is a way of life.... Personally, I just spent a pile of money on FACTORY JOHN DEERE PARTS for my mower deck. My Deere is an 89'. The comparable machine today is the worst pile of shit I have ever seen.. Sure, it looks nice, but CZcams has provided me with tons of video's on all the reasons to stay away from it... John Deere is a historical US company and today is looking for every angle to make those big bucks... Even by selling out their good name.
Excellent point, "greed is where it started" and greed is what keeps it going !!
don't forget the greedy labor unions , who also fund corrupt politicians
Now if we could only get Tim to run for President!!!
Okay I like this guy, everyone needs to share this video. Thank you for speaking the truth
How can you tell ware cm tubing is made.
The Chinese camera used to make the video to put on the Internet using a Chinese computer did a really good job.
You know all that for sure?
If it wasnt for America China wouldnt be able to make nothing and you can thank the Democrats doe selling us out
@@nitromethane222 nothing to do with the democrats, it's the republicans too. Because big business lobbies both sides and that's what they want to happen.
keep it up Tim !!! good vids too and Howdy from Texas . " Don't give up the ship"
I've been saying the same thing for over 40 years.
It's gotten so bad, that you go out of your way to buy what you think will be American made products, spend double the money, and it shows up in a box that says made in China. That happened to me with a Craftsman air ratchet.
Here is a scary true story for anyone interested.
I'll make it as short as possible.
I'm a machinist.
I have a friend that owns a job shop in New England.
He makes all kinds of close tolerance parts for everything from Caterpillar Diesel, to medical equipment, to GE Jet Engines.
There has been a job shop in China begging to do work from him.
He always politely says thanks, but no thanks.
Finally, he was so overwhelmed with work, and having trouble finding young people to get into the trade to work at his shop in the USA, he gave in and figured he'd give this shop a big run of small, simple brass sending unit housings for CAT diesel.
He sent the prints to be quoted. The Chinese shop came back with a quote so inexpensive, that their finished parts, delivered, were less expensive than he could just buy the stock for, so he gave them a try.
The parts were delivered on time, to print, for the money they quoted.
This blew away my friend, because ultimately, his shop is competing in the world market with the shop from China.
So much so, that he contacted the Chinese shop, and wanted to fly over to get a shop tour to see how these parts were made.
The Chinese shop refused to allow him to take a tour of their shop.
He said fine, I was planning on giving you more projects, but forget it.
Finally the Chinese shop kept wanting more work, and my friend said not till I see where my parts are being made.
That's when the Chinese shop came clean and said they don't actually make anything.
They job their machine work out to a series of shops in Malaysia.
Then come to find out, the guys making the parts are prisoners, and are not paid to work.
Most of the people in these prisons are there because they either spoke out against the ruling regime, or they were thrown into prison because the prison machine shop needed more machinists.
This is the kind of thing you are endorsing when you buy products made in China.
I'm sure there are probably good companies in China that don't use prison labor, but they are probably not the norm.
Good video. It's about time someone with the ability to speak out gets this message to consumers.
Take care
Old video but I’m just seeing it for the first time. Good on ya Tim. If more people practiced this same shit we would be much better off. Buy AMERICAN, not inferior Chinese materials and products. 🤙
Tim not a problem here, I send all my money your way! Just kidding your actually pretty fair on your prices for the quality you deliver. I' ve spent 20 plus years helping keep manufacturing in the US, and you are spot on we do a better job when allowed too.
Thanks Tim...When I was a young man almost everything was made here and the economy was great...What happened....
Scum bag politicians and greed are what happened to us.
We got along just fine before the tec
Alex Mercer All of the tech originated here. It could easily be manufactured here as well, and before the WTO agreement, it certainly was!
-- How long have you been sleeping?
Same in the UK, CEOS and governments sold us all out .
Just stumbled across your video today. It’s unbelievable how our government makes it nearly impossible to manufacture in the USA. I’ve been putting off buying new machines just because of the taxes that make it economically infeasible to manufacture parts at a competitive rate. Not to mention all the big distributors and even Amazon refuse to sell products that are made in the USA. I tried for 5 years to get approved by Amazon and they kept rejecting me because I didn’t have import paperwork for parts I make in the USA 🤦♂️. It’s more on the politicians that do everything they can to destroy US manufacturing.
YES! YES! YES!!! I’ve been preaching this all my life! All these damn import cars and parts and, just everything coming here from China and the like...it’s all JUNK! Thanks you Tim for speaking out and standing up for America. Let’s work to strengthen OUR economy and improve OUR lives by spending our money on USA-made goods! Thanks Tim!
See the documentary “American Factory” to see where we’re headed.
When i get ready for my race car you just earned my business!
I can't tell you how many times at work I've told the "Swingline Stapler" story. These damn "Purchasing Agents" that buy the cheapest thing available...when those vintage Swingline Staplers lasted 20 years and even had dual purpose hammer benefits.
Completely appreciate what you're saying Tim...
Two thumbs up Tim. This is more current today then it was 5 years ago!
Well said,
Amen, brother man! Preach it!
I've been a fabricator/mechanic for 30 plus years - anything from China I just call a "glass hammer" - sand is abundant and cheap and China keeps making and selling us glass hammers because American consumers can't see past the price tag - sure 'glass hammers' are cheap but how many blows do you think you'll get out them?
Where was your camera made?
I agree ,Thank You !
right on!!! I just went to the auto parts store to get a water pump for my truck. the first question I asked was is it made in china? the counter guy looked at me like I had two heads. needless to say I didn't get a water pump. keep fighting the good fight man!!
Ummmm.......Where was the video camera that you made this video from?
That watch your wearing looks nice. Where did it come from?
Those glasses your wearing. Where did they come from?
PS. Where was your shirt from?
I always do my best to buy "Made in USA" only (Chevrolet, Snap-On, etc.) But there are problems: The majority of American consumers are not stupid so much as they are often faced with the reality that Chinese products are becoming equal to (in some cases superior) to the American ones at half the price (sometimes even less). We seriously need to solve that problem. Secondly, most "Made in USA" products are not TOTALLY made in the USA, and I will use Snap-On and Chevrolet as examples. Taxing Chinese goods entering the US means that US products entering China will be equally taxed, so nothing is gained by starting trade wars. We have a great leader in Trump, and he will solve all of this in due time. Tim McAmis Performance Parts may not be facing foreign competition yet, but if the Chinese move in and use the same raw materials and same quality processes (machining, heat-treating, welding, etc.), the McAmis company will be in deep trouble... To tell American racers to stay home if you don't have the money plays straight into the hands of a growing number of Chinese companies, whose aim is to create top-quality products for people on a budget. Do Americans on a budget pay $150,000 for a quality McAmis race car, or $50,000 for one with Chinese components that can keep up with (or beat it) at the race track? A difficult problem to solve, but we need to challenge it head-on...
Tell it!!!!
Irony = Complaining about Chinese manufacturing while using Chinese made electronics/components to record, edit, upload, stream, and download the complaining.
and..I'd love to look at the tag on the shirt he has on, Like Trumps ties and hats. I gave up on Buy American when it stopped being Built in America. He's not wrong on his larger point however but Tim most of us don't have a CNC shop to make the shit you won't buy.
buys eats Chinese food
oh look a couple libtards making fun of a man (craftsman)expressing his opinion on Chinese crap. Try machining or welding the crap sent from china, junk fuckin steel.
If done Professionally. it was likely shot on a Japanese -built camera - Sony, Panasonic or American made camera RED, AJA, or even a DSLR Cannon, Nikon etc all high quality...edited on an Apple Mac - Not Chinese Junk - made in China, but in an Apple controlled Factory. Using Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere - coded in the USA for editing. uploaded using You Tube SW coded in the USA...
He isn't asking you to buy everything, just make a conscious effort to buy American when you can. I bought a new sink, cost an extra 80 bucks for the American made piece. It was the only model out of 6 that was made in the US. Walmart, package of paper plates bo real price difference but hey look, these are USA made. Right there, make the effort and support you neighbors keep them working, buy American
I had to look for wheels made in the USA. Forty years ago,we preached buy American! People told me "I'll buy what I want. Nobody is going to tell me what to buy". I still have a bumper sticker-BUY AMERICAN, The job you save may be your own. Building trades unions, the UAW, we all sent lists of products made in the USA. The hard heads still refused to listen. I hope to see you at the races. Great video. Thanks for posting.
Decoupling is on the way Tim. Cheer up!
Thank you!!!
Jegs fitting ?
May God Bless you and your family Tim !! Aside from this very important PSA, I have learned a few things watching your videos. Thanks!!
I agree...to a point. Being a small start up I’ve reached out to MANY USA manufacturers who either the majority of the time don’t reply or give us the time of the day. With that said, 90% of our products are US products but when it comes to some products we had to go overseas (not China but overseas) simply because US manufacturers wouldn’t even reply to us.
Maga we need to bring manufacturing back home, thats what made us great, and the abilities to ship goods,i own trucks and will not run chinies tires ,i pay the wxtra 75 buckes fore the U.S. tire, and I'm not being racist
Anthony Jennings ah...a recent comment, sweet. Times have changes since this was made
HELL YEAH!!!
what kind of phone do you have?
Your spot on.. Ive forgotten. This has got me back on track. Thanks!
WELL SAID :)
Imagine taking you to Harbor freight tools and watching your reaction...lol
Oh man he has to make that video lol
Great video Tim, most big companies (especially those with shareholders) have outsourced to foreign shores to use their cheap labour and low costs, while still charging the same to make huge profits, it's been going on for decades. The problem is many people want stuff now, and cheap, they don't care about quality or where it's made, this has been proven many times. We have the same in the UK, manufacturers move their factories to the far east or old eastern block countries now in the EU where wages and costs are a fraction of UK wages, people want stuff cheap and shareholders want big payouts, you can't win.
Some people don't know quality! Let's support our country! Thank you Tim!!!
I AGREE with YOU COMPLETELY ! ! !
right on!
Need more guys like you that spend money with your same thoughts. Was a general motors employee till it moved to India. Used to have new truck and a speed boat now barely getting by.
The FTC has a page[7] summarizing this issue, but, as of late 2011, there appears to be no "bright line" determining what "all or substantially all" means. Examples are given on the FTC site; a barbecue grill made of components made in USA with the exception of the knobs may be called "Made in USA" while a garden tool with an imported motor may not.
I agree with you Tim it's time this fucking country to wake up or they won't have shit
I can listen to this everyday to get me going. Truth!!!!
OMG, love this video. Amen Tim. Wish more of America's business owners were this way. And when it comes to drag racing (esp. fast stuff) should be the best or nothing. Kudos to you for standing your ground.
Thanks for making this video Tim... Truly Gospel!
Well, try to check famous US brands, from hand tools parts, electronics if they are not made in China...
Even some US cars are made in outside the US...
What matters cheap labor and cheap material...
Do not blame China nor Chinese...
It is called capitalism, genuine US product..
Amen on the rant, I've been saying this for years, I had a Craftsman circular saw it took a shit made in the USA, bought another one to replace it, got it home opened the box , sticker made in China. Took it back to Sears and they asked me why am I returning it . I said its made in China my other one was made in the USA. The girl at the register didn't understand, the older gentleman sales man said he wished there where more people like me and OK'd it with the girl. I bought one made in the USA. Younger people don't have a clue half the time and that's whats killing us.
That 20% of usable product is about right.
For pistons, rods, cranks, dry sump pumps, valve train parts (Not cams), crank dampers USA is No. 1 for price:quality.
Looking forward to more faverable trading terms 🇬🇧
Totally agree with your Rant Tim . Shared it with my gear head friends. Loved it . Thanks
Tim, I agree with you in principle but we are fighting simple economics. We have to get so efficient with our manufacturing that the price difference is narrowed and becomes a non-issue. It's up to us to step up our game. Thanks for the great videos.
Companies that are owned by the workers are the best companies to buy from... CEO's SUCK ASS!!!!!
Tim, I agree 100%! I have gone weeks at times looking for a part or tool that is made in the USA. Even though you didn't want to disclose the maker of that fitting you trashed, I will, JEGS.
Wow someone finally said it outloud!!!! Us little guys no one listens , i had a restoration / vintage hotrod shop for 10 years until the housing market crash bankrupted us and i lost everything, buy USA made 💪thx Tim
Years ago I was at indy for drag racing and going through the manufactures row and stopped at a stroker crank company,I will not mention the name, bottom line was I asked how they can make these cranks and sell at the price they where seliing them at.He tells me the secret was getting 60-70% of the work done off shore, run by a company manager and then bring the parts back here and finish the maching here in the USA,so we can put a made in the USA stamp. This way the quality is still very high and won,t cause issues.Which over the years has still been the down fall alot of the over seas parts. So the person at the top wants more proffit and wants it any way they can get it,even if it at your safety,as evenent with cranks braking at the top end and causing a crach and that 250K car is scrap.Never mind that the driver is put through hell and is lucky to walk away.Is every one in a position to buy a 3-5 grand crank,NO,alot of us have to depend on a some what budget crank, and hope for the best after good machining.Find out where that part comes from big time,if its for suspension, brakes and engine parts,as I work for a major air line and see shit happen on a scale that is off the charts with china parts because top people want to show more profet to there boss, but don,t give a shit about quality or saftey.
Unfortunately the saying “ Made in the USA” does not have the same meaning and the people’s confidence it once had.
Scott M, Yes sir! “Assembled in the USA” .....from globally sourced parts. The Corona virus outbreak in Wuhan province could well have an effect on American auto producers, as that is a center of auto parts production used by all the domestic OEMs. Very short sighted but US companies want access to Chinese markets. They are very naive to believe the Chinese will play fairly in the long run.
I just looked on the back of my iPhone ......................DAMN!! (RonSimmonsVoice)

Me and a small group of my friends have been preaching this since the mid-seventies. Nobody listened. I ride a 1975 Harley Davidson Shovelhead. I've had many cars. All American. I'm driving a 2003 Ford E350 van with 400000 + miles on it with no dying inside. My guns are American. Can you imagine the most Americans were like me there'd be no Toyota. They'd be no problem with China. I love this country and I'm not going to sell out. You can pry my cold 1911 out of my cold dead hands. Thank you sir and God bless you. I am now subscriber.
Do you buy made in Europe or made in Canada parts?
right on the money , thanks Tim....BUY USA .....
I prefer USA stuff if it isn't made here in Canada!
I'd vote for Tim.......

Just a thought from someone over the other side of the pond surely like the UK as well if our CEO's and share holders weren't as greedy we would be a little more competitive USA and UK parts would not be as expensive????? Thanks for the video and your honesty
I ordered a Lunati sold flat tappet cam.The core before grinding came from china. When I opened the box.The cam was in three pieces. That was about in 2014.Where it broke. You could see the flaw in the forging
In about a year I'm have you build my car
Did you though?

You are right. I put $7 ball joints in my truck and in a week, the lower left nut slipped over the threads and it laid down on the road. The tire was all the way up in the fender well. Luckily I was slowed and turning right.
This video was made in 2015, and things have gotten far worse! I personally support Tim's perspective. In my opinion he is right. We need to all get together, and buy smarter. Tariff's only send money to the US General Accounting Fund, we the US citizens pay the tariff. What we need to do is shop smarter, and try to buy products made in the USA.
Way to go Tim! Keep it in the USA.
Make America Great Again = AWESOME! 2017
If you have buy it twice what did you save
Amen Brother! I haven't stepped a foot into a Wally World store in about 22 years.
I love you Bro! God Bless America!!
AMEN! Why my family supports Trump!
Can I get that fitting you threw away? I need one of those really badly.
I ran a building restoration co for 45 years 100% of the materials were NOT made in China. I then started a car restoration business. I use nothing made in china. When I need tools I buy old craftsman tools with the "V" on them. I repair all my old USA power tools. I repair all my USA appliances. We buy a lot of our groceries at the local farmers market, We shop in as many local stores as we can. It is really not that hard. I was restoring Rolls and Bentley cars. ALL the replacement parts are made everywhere but china. I am finishing my 24th Willys Jeep project. The vast majority of replacement parts are made in the USA. Read the labels! Tkx Tim and I hope mopre watch your rant as its been my rant all my 73 years!
easy to say when you've got your money
Like he said. If you cant afford it stay at home.
Bobby Bentley Here in lies the problem with China and their goods... China will sacrifice their wages, economy, and thus the overall well being of the country just to undercut the U.S. How does any country compete with that? There is no way to get away from Chinese products... at least not completely...
From what I hear we owe chine all kinds of money so none of buying only U S is gonna mean shit
China
WE OWE 750 BILLION TO CHINA I THINK
How well do you value your life or your safety?? Buy AMERICAN!!
Your absolutely right! But! It’s not that easy because people in general are always gonna go with the cheapest price regardless of quality. Combine that with the fact that we (the US) don’t really manufacture ANYTHING here anymore, it’s very difficult to find American made products.
I wish more people had Tim's point of view. He is 100% right. We need to support our local businesses and manufacturing not other country's especially ones that we consider an enemy.
