By subscriber request, Australia's greatest champion DJ Dexta (Dexter Fabay) smokes the decks at the 1998 DMC World Final, Paris, eventually finishing in 5th place.
I am quite sure that there is a missing part on that video cause I have the VHS and I remember he add on his dj mix the track from his band "The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist"...
bitch 22 years later and it never gets old. i remember hounding my local record stores for this specific tape for months, then they got it for me. RIP Melodia.
@@MrDamezaprobably to do with our ears hearing tones that they expect, rather than what is played. However, that wasn't a fair comment you responded to because you still need to get the tones within an error range for our ears to compensate. In other words the comment you responded to was just an illusion of sincere critique and the rage against the machine part was amazing
If you watch the whole contest, a lot of dj's could have won that awesome year : DJ Craze : unbeatable, DJ Crazy B : original turntables disposition and very very close but always second... dj Akakabe : amazing technic and fast moves, dj Dexta from The Avalanches group : amazing choice of music and technic, DJ A Trak : young and true djing talent, DJ Static and DJ Jay K : the most groovy and funky, old School routine ! DJ Mouss : scratch power and great arabic melody, Prime cuts : good technic and nice sound choice, DJ Kollasso : awesome scratching technic and nice music groove, Dj Coki : friendly and funny. Too hard for the juges :) small exception : DJ Lil'Jaz : boring and disappointing...
@@Juanjuke6342 Whats lame is that lil'jaz had some really bad ass juggle routines around that time that I saw on various scratch forums then his DMC set was pretty boring. He was quite talented.

this set is so good. The Rage thing at the end is obviously an illusion but it works so well
