"tesco's" is a way people say "tesco", which is a supermarket chain here
She is exactly like my old nan. Absolutely brilliant and my favorite female comedian
Catherine was also great in Dr. Who as the doctor's companion.

Check out her teenage character Lauren Cooper, with her catchphrase 'Am I bovvvered?' Or Nan Christmas 2007 with her grandson (in this sketch), her daughter (played by another great comedian Kathy Burke) and her partner (played by Nitin Ganatra an actor who played Masood from the soap Eastenders).

Exactly what happened to so many old folks back in the "progressive" 1960's/1970's.
Down came their back-to-back terrace houses with a real Community and up they went to the 15th Floor of a Tower Block.
Ironically in my old area, they are now pulling those monstrosities down. Life has gone full circle.

This is my nan exactly. She's so embarrassing.
She told me my daughter looked like a toad when she was born. She told my mother in law she can't stand her after 5 minutes of meeting. Told my husband on my wedding day he had an a$$ for a face and will ruin the photos 🤦

I have seen lots of real life nans from knowing carers. They have a difficult but sometimes hilarious job. I once was asked to wait in a corridor for someone I was picking up, when I was gradually joined by old ladies, who started a queue. The joke was on me when they asked when the bus arrived.
I live next door to a set designer. You wouldn’t believe what a complex job it is. All that detail in the set had to be purchased and arranged. The actors, who are incredible talented at what they do come in and finish in an hour or so. The time taken to make the set is huge in comparison. Now, shall I tell you that story he told he about Nicholas Cage?

Nan has got to be in the top 3 British comedy characters. Ending the Catherine Tate show was the worst decision the BBC ever made.

Catherine is really a comedy actress, I don't think she does stand up, she played Donna one of the companions to David Tennant's Doctor Who. There are lots of great Nan sketches, she has actually made a Movie about Nan's life, which has been delayed by Covid.
