Would love to see another cheap, fast first cars video as it’s a struggle for many at this time 🙏
We have a 2010 DS3R. There are only about 100 left on the road in the UK out of an initial run of 200 for the UK market. It was developed by Citroen Racing and is a stunning looking vehicle with fantastic performance.
Might I suggest, you add what insurance group, the cars you list, are in.
Recently purchased a Vauxhall Adam 1.4S turbo 68 plate with just over 12k miles fsh in metallic blue for £13225 she's beautiful we call her bluebelle Vauxhall dealership Eastbourne took 2 years of searching 👍
That Lupo still looks so cool, especially in that blue 👌
Honourable mention: Toyota Yaris T Sport Turbo
It features the same 1NZ-FE engine as the regular version, but fitted with a turbo kit, making it produce 150hp. 0 to 60 was in the low 7s. It was only for sale in Japan and was not sold in the UK, making it extremely rare.
Value is probably above £5k
Impossible to find mate, I've only seen one
It was never sold as a yaris t sport turbo in japan, only the vitz rs turbo. Europe got the t sport turbo, trying to find either in this country is near impossible
My mate owns the only factory one in the UK, it was a show car by Toyota UK
@@olliestevens754 nice! Is it a chilli red one by any chance
I used to own a red twingo rs. Very fun car and engine note sounded great for a 1.6. They focused a lot on the engine in these and handling!
Currently own a Twingo RS 163 KTec. So 160 bhp. It reminds me of a 205 GTi I had back in the day. The Twingo is insanely fun. Problems I've had with it have been water getting into the coil packs and spark plugs causing corrosion leading to a very difficult job in getting the plugs out. Great car. Buy one with the Cup pack which is the uprated coils and springs.
Thanks JB, another great vid. You make me chuckle about the Alfa! I have a friend (no, I really do) that has an Alfa Brera & GTV yet still uses his 1976 Rover P6 3.5 V8 as his daily driver........just because of reliablity...All the best to you & Simba...
can you do a best high reving engined cars under 10k?
i like my little r56 jcw, just quick enough and plenty of fun
love the 145, but shame so many not on the road
sorry dude, i will gurry up to bring it back on road this year😅

Fun to drive and, fast Both needed for me
I bought my car for one reason and one reason only: FUN. I like the idea of oversteering into a huge fireball. I don't actually, but I hate boring cars and the 308 GTi is about as non-boring as it gets in handling terms. It certainly holds my biggest slide angle record, not bad considering it's my 1st FWD car in 11 years / 4 cars!
Still, some fun rarity stats. Verified by very light Googling, so fully open to disproving, but close enough vs mainstream cars:
- Never more than 1,000 on the road (of which about 25% the "why did you buy the one that's just worse but not really cheaper?" version).
- 36 PSI: the only other can I can find with equal boost pressure is a Koenigsegg Agera RS.
- 380mm brakes - biggest on a FWD car, same as a 992 Turbo S. Made by Alcon, the next slowest (non-armoured) car they supply being the Nio EP9, the former Goodwood record holder.
- Lighter than a Fiesta ST. The next lightest C-seg hatch seems to be the Golf, which is 180kg heavier. 225hp/tonne - the 2025 Golf R has 202hp/tonne...only a Type R beats that, of hot hatches.
- 2nd fastest FWD car round a track after the Civic? Debatable, since hardly anyone has lapped a 308. Based on Aussie tests and Llandau times though, this seems likely! (Edit: Also South Africans, it's popular there)
- Massage seats. I'll be honest, this is 100% the only point on this list I genuinely care about. They are the dumbest massage seats ever made, but it has them, so...massage seats.
It's a nice stats, rarity and overall Top Trumps list. Of course, I buy cars because they make me smile when I drive them and nothing else. The steering isn't great, the gearbox is like a blancmange and I dunno what the hell they were thinking with the gearing, but I did complain about the Porsche having long gears so I can only blame myself for buying a car that redlines in 6th at about walking pace. Still, big smiles, much understeer and I'm looking forward to the £3.5k replacement front brakes...but damn they're nice until that happens.
Also, I'm back to the long comments. Seems they directly correlate to when my work fully engages my brain, if this was a science channel that might be interesting 😁
I have an alarm on my phone to check my tyres - I've been trying to ruin the utter garbage (I literally don't know the brand of one of them) that the car came with, but once I've worn them enough to justify a new set (1-4 months) then I'll shove a set of PS5s / Sport Contact 7s on it and drive it down there if you want to film yourself calling me an idiot for selling the Porsche 🤣
I have a g200 rs charade 1993 available in Lincolnshire if anyone is looking for the best kept secret in 90s hot hatch history,
Needs some work but worth it for such a rare little jdm hot hatch
Fun not fast for me please
Been looking for a Lupo GTI in Germany and they’re running €8-10k. Not paying that for a Lupo.
10K getting a 2006 model? The Lupo was from 98 to 05 and after 05 it was replaced by the fugly Fox. I dont think any Lupos were made after 05
yh he said 2006 but the car was 2004 probably a mistake
@@samdaniells971 correct apologies I misspoke!
np was just clarifying to the other guy , nice vid anyway

I would have put in the Fiat Bravo HGT Abarth too
The ultimate though, Peugeot rallyes, the 306 and 106
The 306 GTi-6 or Rallye is the most enjoyable car for British roads ever. I will die on that hill. Technically I've never driven one...but I owned a 306 LX (1.6 TU, father of Prince) longer than any other car and 2x 308 GTi in the last 6 months, so I may be a slight Pug fanboy. Still, I've driven many cars at many prices and I live near Cheddar Gorge (which VW reckon is the UK's most fun road) and I'll take a 306 over any car at any price for that one.
corrola t sport compressor
Hey I’m looking to get the zc33 swift sport is there any other recommendations
Swift sport’s a great car - depends on budget!
If you're after a small, fun car and want recommendations to rival a Swift Sport...perhaps a Swift Sport in a different colour? 😁
Would probably be looking at slightly hotter things like a 208 GTi or Fiesta ST, both a little older for the same price but there's very little else in that size/price that's close to those 3 cars.
I say that, I've not driven the Swift personally, but have never heard a bad thing. If you test drive those 3 and buy a Swift though, you could confidently park next to any other car and not think "ah crap I could/should have bought that" which is really all that matters!
Why would you put a VXR in 1st. 🤦♂️🤣
The lists are usually based on objective criteria to ignore personal bias, I'm guessing this list is in 0-60 order.
Personally I've never driven any Vauxhall (thinking about it, that's actually surprising...will have to fix that this year!) but I would bet on anything on this list including that being more fun down a B-Road than most modern hot hatches, even if most of them do have minor flaws like exploding engines and, in the case of the VXR, torque steer that risks adjusting the Earth's orbit.
They're always done in order of 0-60 times I believe
If anyone pays 10 grand for one of these I have a bridge I want to sell you.
I don't consider the Twingo Gordini as a hot hatchback. Hatchbacks from 30-40 years ago were faster.
It is all show and no go. Some cars are rare for good reason, because they were rubbish and nobody wanted to buy them.
Lupo GTi is a 'warm' hatch, and standard ones will be worth 'something' because the dubberz ruined most by slamming and stancing them.
The Alfa comes from a stable of some brilliant cars, but this particular model is slow, and has an ugly front end.
The Stilo was a terrible car, performance was dire for the engine size, and handling was poor. No amount of name-dropping could turn it into anything special.
The Astra is the one decent cheap Hot Hatch which IS actually a HIOT hatch. These are under rated, handle really well, and are fast enough to be classed as HOT hatches. The interior lets them down, but this is reflected in the price.
Lupo is not a hatchback lol nor hot
Many of these cars are WARM Hatches. Not HOT Hatches.
Comparison EG: A Civic TYPE R is a HOT Hatch and a Civic Si is a WARM Hatch.
The ALPHA 145 is soooo ugly
