I love acrylics. Started with them but decided to go towards watercolor. Glad you are covering this.
Oh, good!
Hi Miranda, I have painted with liquitex and Artists Loft. Liquitex was easier. I did like painting with them. However, I had no idea what I was doing with them. I like the pictures your class and you did. And cute doggies.
Thanks, Diane! Do we ever know what we're doing? Lol!
“Some of these student paintings are awesome” … Me thinking ALL of those student paintings are Awesome!!! They all did a great job 👏
They are!
Silhouettes are always fun to paint; I like all of the artworks you showed, they all look great! That’s a nice looking wet palette; the hobby sized ones are so good for filming purposes too!
They fit into frame pretty nicely. But this paint is somewhat thin to start out with, so the extra added moisture from the Wet palette proves to be a hurdle sometimes. I'll figure it out eventually!
Your paintings look lovely! So fun that you showed your students work.
Thanks!
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing ☺☺
Thank you, too, for watching.
Gorgeous sunset painting 😍🎨
That looks so fun to paint. I really need to make more effort to paint stuff just for fun! Ps thankyou for my beautiful postcard! It arrived on Wednesday and I love it
Thanks, Terri! 😊
Jerry’s Artarama has Masterson Sta-Wet Red Premier Palettes 12"x16" which are always great, and reasonable.
Yes, it's a bigger size than I like to use, but it would work. 🙂
I like Liquitex mostly for gel printing. I've found that Amsterdam is much better for actual painting. But I like it all. I started with watercolor so I find myself doing watercolor effects a bunch, even with the acrylics. The nice thing when I use acrylic in my foreground is I can put in a watercolor wash last over my background without affecting the acrylic foreground.
I have some Amsterdam acrylics that I'm anxious to try. Fun tip, too, thanks!
Nice to expand our art knowledge and try something different. So YEA
Thanks!
Liquid acrylics & me another sure recipe for disaster. But you do make them look pretty. Your sunsets always get to me.
I'm having a lot of fun with acrylics but I'm anxious to try out some of the other brands I have, too. Watercolor is still my first love. ❤️
Never tried Liquitex paints but they do look very thin? Translucent? I loved the art works you did in this video, I'm guessing from left to right as I viewed the video that your art works were number 2 and 3? Your students paintings were awesome! Jack and Duffy are adorable!! I so badly want a dog!! :D
Dogs are such a joy. ❤️ Yeah, I used these for about 4 hours today and have been a little frustrated with their transparency. Oh well. I'll keep trying the different brands I have at home until I find a favorite. Eventually.
I actually like your stylized reflections!
thanks!
I have the Liquitex Basics set plus some additional colors. I like them ok. But I'm not a big acrylics painter. I
have spent and likely will continue to spend most of my money on primarily watercolors then oils and pastels. Unless I get serious about acrylic painting, the student grade works fine for practice , fun or casual workshop type uses.
Fun to see you using acrylics. I love the Liquitex soft body, but they’re a pretty penny!
As you use this pallet more would you please let me know what you think of it because I can see the ventilation being an amazing thing so that our paints don't get moldy or too wet.
Yes, definitely. I've been using it now for about 14 weeks and it's been pretty good. I've started to keep the sponge or foam less wet, though, because my paint was getting too runny. Zero signs of mold so far. Hopefully it stays that way!
