Ghost type Pokemon are the coolest and most unique out there... but can they beat Pokemon Black's greatest challenge!?
We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Black Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Ghost types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

@@SilphSpectre In my case, don't get me wrong but it's so relaxing it helps me getting naps because with some knowledge I don't necessary need to watch the screen and I can close eyes after 6 hours of staring at the screen at work and relax to get a nap I need but can't focus in order to slow down. thanks man

Btw, not only is Chandelure faster than expected and has base 145 special attack, it also has base 90 on both defenses. It's such a great Pokemon
Black Version was the last game I got on hard copy; I was so pumped to be able to play a full Ghost team and that was my initial team. This video is gonna be such a nostalgia bomb.

i always wanted to do a ghost type run of b/w because both cofagrigus and chandelure rank ridiculously high in my list of favourite pokemon. and honestly? golurk and jellicent are pretty neat too.

I like the types of pokemon you normally cannot catch early on, like ghost, ice, dragon, and so forth. I wish I could do pokemon runs with unusual type starters instead of the usual fire, water, grass. BOOOORING.
The Universal pokemon randomizer allows you to change your starter, even if you don't want to randomize the entire game.
You can use cheats that allow you to encounter any pokemon available in the game.
I did a Black Nuzlocke recently and Chandelure was absolutely the mvp, it's one of my all-time favourite pokemon and it's such a beast!
I haven't been able to play this game but the only unova mons system seems SUPER FUN

It’s not strong but cofagrigus is one of my favorites
@@Flaspoint2000 Cofagrigus is pretty useful actually. It has pretty good defensive stats, gets Shadow Ball within 5 levels of evolving in gen 5, and has other good moves like Calm Mind and Will-o-Wisp. He'd be even better as a wall if he had a good recovery move.

One of the craziest run so far. That Hypnosis spam, Air slash miss, 1 HP Cofagrigus and slashed chandelure made me clench hard lol

Woah! I completely forgot about the dream world's functionality in black& white, that is so genius! Id love more bw runs that involve it , or maybe even a run where u can only use dream world encounters instead of tall grass

This run is alternatively titled "Pokémon Black But Silph's Ghost Pokémon Keep on Barely Surviving" with how many times his Pokémon survived a (mostly) physical and/or super-effective move. My favorite has to Venkmen the Haunter/Gengar just not wanting to faint in multiple occasions and Egon the Cofagrigus managed to barely stay in 1HP even after 2 hits in confusion and Silph getting distracted by the delivered parcel and misclicked, the RNG Gods may have definitely blessed this challenge.
36/7. This was another fun one. Really like when you do these.
Ahh Black and White... honestly if it wasn't for some of the "creative" pokemon design choices this would hands down be my favorite entry, definitely one of the best stories. This was also the first game I completed a DeX in.

The run is not legit because he used a non-ghost type when a ghost type was available to him.
@@Deerthedoe6842 And? He should have got a Dawn Stone, so he could make the run actual legitimate. Additionally he could PkHeX in a Dawn Stone to save time if he so desired.

Not sure if this is why your speed calcs were off but in bw and bw2 trainers will have random natures so whenever I play these games I account for a plus speed nature.

Oh i've an idea! How about a run where you get every single type on the team. When i mean all types i mean through typings in the team and the moves they use, all 18. When i play around with teams stab is almost completey non-existent BUT! I'd adore to see that kinda video.
