Fighting type Pokemon are certainly powerful... but can they beat Pokemon HeartGold's greatest challenge!?
We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon HeartGold Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Fighting types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

Are we ever going to see the return of the True Power series? With the Sinnoh remakes well behind us now, I couldn't even begin to tell you how badly I want to see that! I love these monotype runs, but I always figured they were just a series for in the meantime. Pleeeeeaaaaaase do the Gen 4 True Power videos and Tournament!

About the Safari Zone encounter, Riolu didn't actually cut off Breloom, as Shroomish can be found in Viridian Forest via headbutting trees. Just a fun fact ^^
Why doesn't anyone ever rematch the Elite Four before Red? They're crazy battles, Lance now has all 3 pseudo-legendary dragons in the level 70's. I'd love to see that in the next run. Great video as always Silph! RIP Ronda
For hardcore nuzlockes, that creates a massive hurdle for the sake of training for Red.

I cant wrap my head around the fact that you have one ready every week. Playing an entire pokemon game where so much planning and weird things are required must already be a lot but top it off with writing the script and editing (there might be an editor though, but still)... well lets just say that i admire you a lot.

In my experience hitting 2 out of 5 focus blasts is a very normal rate. That move is called focus miss for a reason.

The real mvp of the run was Wade for making it all possible

something you should give a try is a hgss nuzlocke with only eggs given to you to hatch or bought on the game corner.
you CAN'T catch any pokemon.
that means you can't allow even 1 of them to die.
you can get the 3 eggs from primo and the togepi, you can also buy 3 pokemon on the game corner.
that means you have around 7 pokemon to make this shit work.
if you want you can also get the almia eggs or if there are pokewalker eggs given to you, you can also use them.
That's two Adamant Medichamps in two different runs, sweet jesus this guy has guts
Here's the challenge I'm going to give you; Make a hardcore Nuzlocke using only ´´Animals´´ Pokemon (like Noctowl, which is evidently an owl. )

You could have gotten Mankey BEFORE beating Morty. You can actually cross to the other side of the water by running through the cave! No HM's required! Hope this helps for future Johto Runs (my favorite, by the way!)

You can catch a slowpoke, and level it up to level 25, when it learns headbutt. After that, you can headbutt trees for Heracross, technically making Heracross the first fighting type encounter. (ik nobody asked its still a great video anyways and i love when you end these runs at red)

Love these runs but I wish the rule was consistent about using prevolutions who don't have the right types yet. In the Dragon runs it's fine, but here it's not. I think it should just be okay in all runs for clarity's sake!

My Favorite Fighting Type Pokémon will always be Lucario. Lucario holds a special place in my heart cause I remember the first time watching my first Pokémon movie called Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. When I saw this Pokémon, I was like wow, he looks so cool! I love it’s design very much plus blue is my favorite color too! Not to mention I was crying a lot seeing Lucario dying when he sees what his friend did before he dies. I was like don’t go Lucario but I’m happy he was reunited with his friend. Sure Lucario‘s defense is bad but it’s an amazing Pokémon with great power and speed.
Bruh I haven't been this invested in a run for the longest time. So many pokemon lost and found. Loved it.

Edited: fire stone is given by the kid with the tangela beside the sudowoodo, and the leaf stone is given by the girl with the bulbasaur infront of the daycare. Good luck on future runs
For Thunderstones, Lass Dana on Route 38 can give you them on occasion. Might help if you want to do a mono-Electric run.

If I could suggest a run, mayhaps a run of Pokemon Black with only Fire types? They're pretty rare, but between Volcarona, Emboar, and Darmanitan I think you'll have a pretty fun run on your hands.

There is an easy to obtain oran berry in the ruins of alph: you just need to use escape rope in the 1st ruins of alpha puzzle.
Also, you can catch shroomish using headbutt.

Interesting run, though one small note: Heracross is available before Goldenrod and should therefore have been the starter.
I promise I'm not just saying this because Heracross is my favourite fighting type
A 4x weakness to gust makes heracross pretty unlikely to get past the first gym.
@@zaclittlejohn2701 While true, he did say that Machop was his first viable encounter and had therefore replaced the original starter, which is incorrect as you can get Heracross earlier than Goldenrod
@@DrFoggyPants but Machop is the first Guaranteed encounter. There is a 100% chance to get a Machop in goldenrod, while there is a chance that the trees that spawn heracross don't for several hours.
