The advantage of front wheel drive is call drive train drag Awd- drags like 45% from power distribution to each individual wheel Rwd-drags like 30% due to the power distribution from the transmission thru the drive shaft to the tires. Fwd-drag like 15% since the transmission sit's closes to the tires it's inverting the power too and only has to go thru a pair of Cv axles so it a big weight advantage on power distribution compared to the other methods of power distribution. Hope this helps👋

Asking because even at those numbers, I’ve seen 3 come to my dealer with a blown motor trying to be go fast boys(full bolt on and tune). 2 were CVT and one was a Si… maybe money shifted lol but i know there are way more cases out there. I’m just asking because I hope the owner is prepared for when it happens. Rods are a big weak point in the 1.5T
i think he already replaced the rods , because the boost pressure is so high
The owner of the Civic had to have replaced the connecting rods of the 1.5L. He’s making a lot of power with it blowing up.
MAPerformance had a 10 Gen Si with stock engine with over 500hp and the engine was ok even if they had A LOT of dyno and drag strip runs. Rods are not weak at all.
@@Eugen-E this 1.5T civic is not Si version , CVT transmission has different connecting rods & pistons compare to si
@@jeremiahirvine3103 You said about a blown Si too.
CVT with 300 hp?
How is that possible?
Get the 2.0t accord with performance tires. I think the type S and the 2.0t would be near equal. Best time I saw on a type S 14.1s the accord 2.0t 14.2s with wheel spin, both brake boosting from a dig.
he's already beaten the accord sport 2.0T with a Type S from a roll. Tires won't save it
@@elenchus I was talking about from a dig. But yea you are right from a roll tires won't matter, HP matters.
Type s is 13.6 1/4 mile….
can the cvt handle that power? those transmissions seem to all be shit
how much can the honda cvt handle? thank you
About 350nm
The type S has way more potential.
Don't you think you're stating the obvious a bit? It's a 3.0t V6 vs a 1.5t 4cyl. I would hope it to have a lot more headroom
@@mattkroening7964 ok...that's like saying this video is pointless...tell that to the author who made this video.
@@kongxiong6005 that literally makes no sense, but ok. Showing that a civic with a few mods is capable of taking a much more expensive (stock) car isn't pointless. Pointing out the more expensive car has more potential is pointless, because it's obvious.
@@mattkroening7964 You just contradicted yourself. Go waste other people time
No shit captain obvious. “Wow that c43 AMG got more potential than that base camry” lmao
Can do you a race with QX70
That TLX needs a tune bad. It would be a monster with it.
Oh no!! Not the snowmobile again!!!🤣
I’m surprised a 1.5 and the cvt can handle that much boost
Probably won't for long, especially that cvt
We need to see the civic go against the stinger/g70, s4/s5 and q50 rs.
I think from a roll it'd be a really good race
I like the old music better
You should bring g37 on channel
Laughing at how slow the Type S is never gets old.
On another note, that little Honda can move. I wonder how it would do against a stock Stinger GT or S4/C43.
That civic is beating a c43 from a roll guarantee
@@JohnCena-jb3yp Are you sure? The C43 is the second fastest in the class behind the M340i and it demolishes the Type S from a roll. I think that civic based on how it beat the Type S may be able hang with it and get walked if you ran it out but to even be in the conversation is impressive.
@@ClubZlut q50 rs is faster than a c43
@@ClubZlut the M340i is alot faster than the the c43, this civic shines even more so on top end, so if they keep going even further than a 1/4 mile I'd say that increases the civic chances even more, look at the second dig race here, you can see the civic was starting to catch up but the 1/4 was over. And yeah to be even considered going against those cars is impressive for the civic, I think people need to put some respect on it, it's 1.5 cvt economic car for crying out loud. It's competes with granny corollas 🤣🤣🤣 but it's punching way past its weight and winning too.
Yea it's funny I agree....but the only problem is a simple tune and it will make 450 whp+
Plz bring back the old intro
The civic EX weighs-in around 2900 pounds. Minus 14 pounds for bro with a carbon fiber hood, he gains a solid 0.95 hp.
…on a 4200 pound TLX sh-awd the “mass effect” of said 14 pound is trivial
A better race wouldve been the 2021 acrua tlx a spec vs that tuned civic 1.5t cvt
I always knew that 1.5 has a lot of potential but wow it even beat the new 3.0t.
Yea with a tune. JB4 that type S and it will smoke even the Audi S4.
@@Youcallthesebagels_ I’ve been 12.4 no tune just downpipe, port matched tb and drop in filter and NO TUNE! Once Ktuner out and we can actually tune the car properly 11s will come very easily
It’s the weight difference of the two cars. The Acura TL Type-S is extremely heavy compared to the Honda Civic. Put the same drivetrain from the Civic into the Type-S & you’ll see a definite difference in speed.
@@SAT1337 with a tune it will smoke the S4 but stock vs stock the S4 would eat the type S for dinner I’m not an Audi fanboy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@oririona5462 Save your breath. We’ve all moved past that. Stock the car is underpowered and overweight. We get it, but it’s still a great car and heck of a lot more reliable and standout than a generic German car or Honda for that matter.
Can anyone explain to me how a 1spd trans. works pls?? Is it as simple as it sounds, just 1 tall gear that never shifts? 🤔
belt tranny, it's a CVT.
Yes 1 powerband
Kinda like a power glider that only has 2 gears
I'll race the new TLX type-s or the Accord turbo. Let me know if any owners are up for it.
It is insanity he keeps racing the TLX S expecting a different result. It is simply not a drag racer. Much too heavy. We all know this. It is still an awesome car and if you have twists and turns, then this vehicle will shine. Just not in a straightaway.
it won the drag race despite the other car being heavily tuned (making over 50% more horsepower)
I doubt it would shine in corners considering its insanely heavy for what it is.
@@augustortiz I believe its already been shown that the handling for it is above alot of its competitors regardless of its weight
So if it’s not a drag racer and it’s also as heavy as a rhinoceros. What is it? TLX was a failure from the get go. This proves it.
Correct, the Type S isn't a drag racer, and on a track it beat the competition like the Genesis G70 and Stinger GT. SH-AWD is really meant for acceleration while cornering.
Race it against the FUSION SPORT‼️
Someone, please tell me the need for FWD. What's the advantage?
The advantage of front wheel drive is call drive train drag
Awd- drags like 45% from power distribution to each individual wheel
Rwd-drags like 30% due to the power distribution from the transmission thru the drive shaft to the tires.
Fwd-drag like 15% since the transmission sit's closes to the tires it's inverting the power too and only has to go thru a pair of Cv axles so it a big weight advantage on power distribution compared to the other methods of power distribution. Hope this helps👋
What has he done to it? What is his social media???
Tha batmobile
Stage 2 accord 2.0 vs type s?
A stock 2.0T already delivered the smoke to this type S
@@XAMPOL r u lost,??? This type S embarrassed the stock accord. You are thinking of the regular TLX
@@arshamarshuu637 Yes i am, thought the Type S got smoked by the accord in the previous vid but it was an A-Spec that got smoked lmao
SLAP A JB4 BURGER TUNE ON THE TSX S AND ITS A BEAST. 400 WHP 420 WTQ
That Civic vs the Kia K5 GT? Would be koo
There is a video of this civic when it was silver and not wrapped in red vs K5 GT already and the civic demolished the K5 GT even though the K5 GT is a quick sports sedan
straight pipe on the type s?? lmao sounds way too quiet
The TLX is more of a replacement for the Legend or RLX(?). The thing is literally too big and heavy to be marketed as a "fast" car.
No replacement for displacement
Those CVT sounds in the Civic are so cringey, but it wasn't too far behind the TLX
So now we know the new Integra TYPE S will be faster than the TLX SH-AWD
Imagine putting that tuned engine in the manual integra
How to you know that? The Integra type s will likely come with the 2.0 with 272hp. That motor is in the Accord and the TLX type s beats it (Sam has a video on it). Granted the Accord 2.0 will likely be heavier than the Integra type-s, but even if you look at the 2021 Civic type R (has the 2.0 with 305 hp), its a driver's race between that and the TLX type s. C&D shows the number for both cars and they are very close (type R is 0.1s faster to 60 and 0.3 sec faster in the quarter mile). The math doesn't support your claim. Do your homework before saying that you KNOW something.
@@mikeb7258 lol you’re right they’re not going to put the integra type S to be faster than the tlx type S unless you tune it yourself. It might be around the same power as the civic type R
@@leonbaptiste2272 this guy is just trolling or not thinking. Oh well. It’s fun to discredit the troll’s claims and fun to educate the dummies.
@@mikeb7258 If this is just a tuned 1.5 civic then I'm sure the civic Si will give the TLX-Type S a run and once we tune new integra type s and trim some weight it will be faster IMO... Neither one of our statements are actually factually until the cars hit the track & that's just my IMO.
355 HP 354 Lb Ft Tq 🤙🏼
honda should not have CVT anymore. it's nice and all but if they want a sporty civic aside the type R and SI it needs to be beefyer
Wow
Good but I take the TLX ...
Put that civic up against that M340i 😭
Small brother vs Big brother. Big brother won dig and small brother won roll... 2 for 2 a tie
My accord 2.0t with intake and catback exhaust vs the civic tuned ??
