Notice how Cassie's face is completely f'ed up and she doesn't bother treating her wounds or pay an ounce of attention to it. Meanwhile, Maddie's only injury is a scrape on her foot and she's treating it immediately. A perfect metaphor for how little Cassie loves herself and cares what happens to her vs. how much Maddie loves herself and takes care of herself.
You mean how Maddie has LEARNED to love and take care of herself versus Cassie not caring about herself yet because she is still brainwashed...definitely yeah!
@@hellund2874 I feel like cassie's trauma is usually overlooked when we both know each and every character had or has alot of trauma and is each going through their own shit.
@@vampxrialive Cassie is just at the beginning (like Maddie said) and will eventually see what was done to her and work through it. First step to heal trauma is to see your situation for what it is and to stop romanticizing your own suffering. Maddie is just ahead of Cassie because she went through it and pulled herself out

She knows how Nate. She saw what he did with Maddie. And she knows she is wrong. She does feel guilty. She still does it any ways.
I do agree that she needs help instead of alienation. But i won't blame others for alienating her either. They are humans and she does hurt them.
She does have a background which makes us understand why she is the way she is but their is only so much you could excuse.

the acting in this scene is phenomenal on sydney’s part. when maddy says “this is just the beginning” you can see a sense of relief in cassie without her actually changing her face. then she realized how pathetic she is for being happy because she knows maddy means this is the beginning of a long and toxic relationship and that’s not something to look forward to. and yet…
I don’t think it’s relief. I think for the first time Cassie is looking at Maddie and seeing her own future.
The whole season, her thought process has been “he won’t abuse ME, I’m BETTER. I’m the RIGHT one.” But here? When Nate has broken up with her and Maddie points out that it’s going to be a cycle, I think Cassie realizes “oh shit, he’s gonna hump and dump me over and over just like he did with Maddie. Maybe I’m NOT better….”

@lizanya6433 Have you watched the show...? Cassie wasn't drunk before then, she only got drunk when she got in the car with Nate who was going to the party. Cassie was sober when she got in that argument with Lexie up until she got in the car with Nate and they both used the house bathroom to hook up before Maddie started pounding on the bathroom door.
