It is an easy and sometimes quick method to get your pinto.
Before it was patched. I played the game for one and a half hours, concentrating on finding the 'Pinto'. This video is an edited section of my attempt. By the end I had found her alive seven times.
Who else hopping back on during coronacation? 😂
On my save, I was in chapter 4, and must’ve spent 5 real life hours pacing back and fourth between the locations, camping and speeding time, and nothing. But I really want that silver pinto.
I made a new save and got to chapter two, did the Hosea mission ASAP, and went to work. Only took me 4 tries to get the horse. Excellent video, thank you!

Currently on chapter 2 saved where you said. Been loading none stop and still to find even a dead horse. Going to the 2 locations after each load but finding nothing
If it’s not loading I’d sleep for a day or 2, then pull up to the location and save. I got mine in the morning, I don’t know if that actually means anything though. It might seem tedious, and honestly, if you’re getting frustrated by it, I don’t think it’s worth it. If you are in chapter 2, you should be able to find an Arabian a lot easier. There’s also a trick to get the dark bay Turkoman in chapter 3 if you’re interested 🤷🏽♂️
saw him 3 times now at two different locations. every single time dead. but the saving/loading thing just ain't working for me and kinda burning me out on the game. need to move on I guess thx.
@@jorgebastos7791 Hi. If you see the horse dead, don't save. Reload your last save.
The game will spawn dead and live in a random sequence. You just have to catch it at the right time.
If you read through the comments you will find lots of help from players who have found a live horse. Have faith. You can do it.
I couldn’t find it at first so I went away, thinking the time of day would make a difference, came back at noon (in game) and found it at Bacchus first try alive. Still working 27/03/20 thank you so much

Thank you so much! I tried this for hours and hours. I searched the comments here and read through many of them. At first, I did what you said, but I never had a horse: dead or alive. Then, I decided to go past and go to O'Kreigh. I found the prospector there. I tied him up and stole his gold after he found it. Then, I saved and went back to Moonstone, but from O'Kreigh directly. The horse was dead and the woman was there. I was flabbergasted. However, after many reloads, the dead horse continued to be dead. Improvement, though. The horse was at least showing up. So, I camped til morning and went back. Horse still there....still dead. I went a back way to the train station and ran across a guy that wanted to race me. Did that, as others had suggested to do all the events you come across and save after. However, that turned out bad as I ran into another NPC (right at the very end where I'd have won). They started immediately shooting at me. I killed them, collected loot, saved, and went back to the station. Dead horse there, just south. So, I reloaded a few times to always find a dead horse. I camped again til morning near the Wampiti place, which is where the race ended. Went down to the station and dead horse again. Reloaded and went back to find nothing. Road to Moonstone to find a dead horse on the hill. Went back to the station and found a dead horse just south. I went back and forth until nothing was to be found at either place.
Finally, I stopped at the crossroads without a dead horse south of the station and saved. Then, I reloaded. I started with the station but eventually just reloaded and went straight to Moonstone. Finally, after hours and hours and hours of doing this, I found a live F'ING Silver Dapple, which I've named Starry Night. So happy!
I have done this before, so anyone can try. I was in Ch. 3, just after Arcadia for Amateurs III. Thanks!

it didn't work in the begining because there was different encounters near the area so after i cleared them out and went to the crossroads and saved at morning , here she is from the first time alive , then i found the lady and i gave her a ride with her horse xD

Hi all. Just writing to confirm it still works on PS4, most recent update, as of May, 27th, 2020. I was having trouble with the dead horse only showing up and then I changed my tactic slightly and got it to work on the first try after. This is exactly what I did.
1. camp nearby cross road and sleep to morning.
2. Go to crossroad point and then save the game when it’s around 6:40 am.
3. Load the save you just made. If you load anywhere that isn’t in the white trees, you need to redo step 1 and 2 until that load game spawns you next to thin white trees.
4. Immediately jump on horse and head to moonstone pond. I was going to the station first and then moonstone and all I was getting was a dead horse. After I decided to go to moonstone first, literally my first try the horse was alive.
Hope this helps anyone who’s having trouble!
Another quick mention. I’m not 100% sure if this requires you to complete the Hosea mission where you meet him in Emerald Ranch and rob the coach for Seamus, but I was having absolutely no luck even spawning the dead horse and lady until I completed that mission as well. That Hosea mission should unlock right after the bear one so you can still get the horse very early on. I did the hosea bear mission, then Strauss’ money lending part 1, and then the Hosea coach robbery mission, and then I was able to spawn the live horse.

BlueSamGames so you save the game and ride back and forth between the two locations, or so you look at one, reload and then look at the second? Like look at Bachus and if it isn’t there, reload the save and then search at moonstone pond?
7th April 2020 - if you are planning to give up read below best tip ever from a person who gave up multiple times trying to get MFT :-
1. If horse doesn't spawn for you alive or dead then do some mission then comeback and try because you should atleast see horse in like 10 attempts max. Sleeping doesn't work or passing time didn't work for me.
2. If you find it but it's dead then keep on reloading the last save and it's yours in few tries..
I was going to give up because horse wasn't even showing up for me alive or dead but.. I did some missions like 2 missions and came back and got it in first try. Before this however, I did almost 70+ times and Between 6 missions and slept and passed away time.
Edit - This is not patched and won't be patched in near future I believe.

Same thing is happening with me horse isn't even showing up,thanks for the help though will try it .
@@goofie500 it happened to me as well.. forget about dead horse it wasn't even spawning and thats why it took me so many attempts. I was being stupid trying to hard my 40+ attempts were at a particular game time where if I smartly switched this activity post few missions I would have got it with less worries. But there was no one to guide me.

Still works! Got mine after a bunch of failures, decided to take the advice in the comments and go do a few missions.
Came back, got 6 nothing, 5 dead and finally 1 alive!

I have found this girl many times a few times I have found two and been able to keep a backup pinto foxtrotter in the stable, I completely found this by accident but it is one of the best parts of the game
i can’t thank you enough! i’ve tried countless glitches to get good horses and i came across this one. at first i wasn’t getting the encounter to spawn at all, so i did a couple stranger missions and camped for two nights. when i returned, it only took me about 2 tries to get this beauty. i’m so happy! btw i’m in chapter 2 on my 3rd play through. thanks again!!

Still working as of 06/07/2020. Thank you for the video. I did it with a slight modification, based on comments I read here.
1) Go to the crossroad as shown in the video, save the game. Ride to the Bacchus spawn point and Moonstone pond and see if you get lucky. If not, reload your save point.
2) Ride directly to Moonstone pond (as James Sanchez said in the comments below)
3) Make sure you accept the auto save when it asks you
4) Arrive at Moonstone pond and find neither a dead or alive horse (at least that's what always happened to me)
5) Load the Auto save, not the original save point from the cross roads, which should put you pretty close to Moonstone pond, go there and find... no horse. I think the game has to "see" you at Moonstone pond in order to make it spawn at the Bacchus Station spawn point
6) Ride back to the Bacchus Station spawn point and find a horse either dead or alive.
If the horse is dead at the Bacchus Station, you have to reload your original cross roads save point since the game has "seen" you at bacchus station and overwrites the old auto save at that point. Now start at 2).
I've done the original method suggested in the video for about an hour with most of the time no horse spawn at all or a dead horse at moonstone pond when I decided I'd load the autosave and see what happens. Did that 3 times in a row and all 3 times I found a horse at the bacchus station spawn point after going to the moonstone pond point first, twice in a row it was alive, and the third time it was dead. In-game time of finding the horse was 1:20pm and I was still in chapter 2 right after hunting the bear with Hosea

It now seems that Rockstar has decided to make it impossible to get this horse.
They have released a patch (1.26) which makes sure the horse will only spawn dead.
I can't think of a good reason for them to do this.

YOU ARE THE GOAT DUDE. By the way a helpful tip for people who haven’t done the mission that unlocks stables yet and you already have your main horse: kill your main horse by blowing it up with dynamite or running into something or stop it in front of a train or something like that and then after it is dead take the saddle off of your old horse and put it on the Foxtrotter and boom, you have the Foxtrotter as your main horse without having to complete the stable unlocking mission.

Just wish Rockstar put the ability to buy any breed you wanted in Chapter 2 as long as you had the funds. My favourite breed is the MFT but the Amber Champagne coat.
They should just let you buy most everything in the game by chapter 2, this stupid unlock system they have is arbitrary nonsense...Why should I have to wait until nearly the end of the game to get a gun that was made 30 years before the games date? It's stupid.
I've had a few comments from players not finding a live horse. I've been back on and I also am now finding only dead horses.
Rockstar may have patched this with update 1.26. I don't know why they would, it's not a cheat, it's just a horse.
Please let us know, if you will find one. What time of the day can you recommend to find the horse (no matter wether alive or Dead)?
Yeh and it's only single player game, so don't know why they would.
Reset game and played it through the intro and the hunt in chapter 2 - still only dead horses :(
100% patched. Tried and found at least 50 times the horse is always dead.

Honest to goodness truth I got it at Bacchus Station alive the very first try. I've seen all the videos and different spawn locations and all the ways to get it but never wanted to put that much effort into finding one until I watched this video and got it the first try, that's crazy. Thank you 🙏

I think it was patched in 1.26. I have a save where I could find her within 3 tries. I have even found her alive twice in the same game multiple times. After the update I haven't found her alive once. I still have saves with her as my main horse though.
So it finally happened close to six months later, 4 new game restarts and god knows how many random encounters i finally found that horse alive!!! and of course it was completely by accident.

BlueSamGames whelp game just crashed and wiped out my save and my backup save :T maybe theres some divine rule that im not allowed nice things lol it was nice while it lasted tho.
I got her pretty easily in chapter 2. I only had to reload the save like 3 times. I guess I got lucky. Then in chapter 3 I got the Dark Bay Turkoman and the Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred

June 30 and it still works!! Had to camp if I ran into other encounters (horseshoe guy, kidnapped lady) but found her alive after a few attempts at moonstone pond!

Good news. The horse spawns beyond chapter 2. Try it.
I just wanted to say thanks again. I know ive said thank you already but you dont know how much I appreciate it. Almost every playthrough I do this glitch and keep her. Its such an amazing horse. I got her right away after the Hosea hunting mission and it took me like 15 mins. I took her and shes been Arthur’s silver dappled darling ever since.

So I can confirm that its possible to exhaust your interactions with this NPC. I tried for 5 hours on my playthrough(in the middle of chapter 3) with no woman, no horse, or any other stranger interactions. I made a new game, powered through the bear hunting quest, and immediately went to try. First try I got the woman being kidnapped on horseback so interacted with that stranger to try to get the pinto event, slept then saved. After that I kept getting a dead horse in the spot on the hill above moonstone pond. Always there, only there, and always dead. So I slept until noon, saved and tried again. Was finding it dead at the station and above moonstone pond, so I knew progress was made. Within 20 minutes I found her alive. Thanks so much. I hope this helps some people narrow down how to do it.

This is where I'm stuck. I tried doing a few missions then came back. Tried sleeping to different times of the day. Still have a dead horse on top of the hill and the woman walking away every single time.
i finally got it!
additional info
in my case.at first the lady and the fox trotter spawned in Bacchus and pond at the same time but both horses were dead then i notice that every time i go back at the said locations the lady appears near the horse instead of continuing to walk away(its like resetting the mission or something)so i just ran back and forth until one of the horses is barely alive..it took me at least 30+ reload with the same scenarios because if you get too close to the dead horse it will ruin the spawn and will not reset if you go back..
saved at the junctions and i my starting position after reload is near bacchus station(the ledge were you can see a bridge) at around 4:30pm tho the mission starts at exactly 5pm..
if anyone encounters this same scenario hope this can help you

I think the patch took this out. I have tried for about two hrs, and I find it every load dead. And I refuse to play well no spoilers. Believe it or not there’s still new people to this game. The video you made was great, and the horse was there like you said, but never alive. Thanks.
Hi. If you are finding the horse dead just reload your last save. Eventually it will spawn alive.
I don't think this is a glitch or a bug. I think the event is put in deliberately by Rockstar so it won't be patched. Just my theory.
It is a random event so luck does play a part.

To verify this still works perfect!! Will say I lucked out and within 5 minutes and 2 loads there it was! I will say this wait until the women walks away far enough she doesn’t realize you are there or she’ll turn around and walk towards you and it sort of glitches as you try and feed the horse. So happy to get a play through with this magnificent horse! Thanks

Been doing this for the last 5 hours still haven’t seen it dead or alive 😂. I’ve quit the game, tried missions, made sure I load in in a certain spot. Feels like I’ve tried everything...am I gonna keep trying? Yes.
Hi Ashlea. Leave the area. Go to Valentine and sleep over. Next day: return to the junction and save your game. Then ride between the two locations at least 3 times each.
If you find nothing: make camp, sleep and return to the junction and save again.
If you find a dead horse: reload your last save and search the two locations. Good luck.

I didnt take her to emerald ranch because i was actually persuing other objective and needed to go the other way lol Then i remember that she might be the silver pinto lady and wanted to kill myself haaha Im not sure if i should try because i alreday talk to her. Im pretty sure i've only found this lady very few times (if not once) during my first playthrough. Also i tried a couple times just to check and nothing was spawning at all, not dead or alive horses whatsoever. EDIT: i was wrong, i helped another woman not the one in moonstone pond. Might be still possible tho...

Just to help some people out, I saw a lot of comments saying that the Horse is alive from 6:45 am to 7:00 am, however I managed to find this beauty at 8:37 am. Keep trying, don’t give up because this Horse will spawn if you keep trying. However, I wouldn’t advice going to Bacchus Station, just ride to Moonstone Pond.

Abigail Parker Sorry you’re having no luck, but this is definitely possible. Maybe try again another day? I tried yesterday with no luck at all, around 50 reloads and nothing. Eventually the Horse stopped spawning all together so I tried again today, and it took less then 20 reloads. Don’t give up.

Okay got my Pinto today! Thanks for this! Still working on 16-May-2020. A quick tip for someone for whom it’s not working (i.e. you see nothing on both sides, not even a dead horse) go do a mission or two and come back and try it again, Having tried for about a couple hours yesterday, I couldn’t see anything on both sides. Came back this morning and tried again first thing, but still nothing. So i went on to do a main mission and came back and tried again and found 2 dead horses and finally a live one in just my 2nd or 3rd attempt. I guess if you see a dead horse on either side, you’re making progress. Don’t waste time trying repeatedly if you don’t see at least a dead horse on any one side.Cheers!

Just in case it's helpful for anyone, I did it on PC and a lot of my attempts were disrupted by the hillbilly kidnapping encounter. I would just reload as soon as I saw the hillbillies.
Also, I only ever saw the horse dead or alive by going straight to moonstone pond first after reloading. I never saw the horse at Bacchus.

@@thebaddestlarry9424 So what you do upon starting the third mission with Albert Mason is approach the fox trotter from behind and immediately look down at the ground so you can enter dead eye to start tracking it. Once you start tracking it you want to herd the horses back towards Albert Mason, now the key part here is spamming the dead eye button so you don't loose track of the horse, if you lose the horses trail you won't be able to grab it again (best to make a backup save before trying this) after successfully leading the horses back while maintaining the fox trotters tail with the dead eye spam immediately skip the cutscene and continue hitting your dead eye to maintain the trail. Then all you gotta do is track the horse down and break it. Once you break the horse, stable it, save, reload your save, then you have yourself a silver dappled pinto. I found this to be a much more reliable method. If you follow this step by step you'll be guaranteed a silver dappled pinto

i've been doing this for literally over 5 hours now and haven't had success yet :( biscuit spawns but is always dead. i've gone and followed the steps and tried other methods AND have gone to do other missions but still nothing. i saw a comment saying this wasn't patched as of yet and that's the only bit of hope i have left lmao

Still works as of May 31st 2020. A few others mentioned that heading straight to moonstone pond worked and I can confirm that as well. Riding to Bacchus Station wasn't necessary for me at all. Took me about an 1.5hrs to get the horse to spawn alive. It was 1:37pm in-game time when I got the horse. The lady was walking away in the opposite direction of her alive but tired silver dapple pinto. :)
1) Walk up to the signs at the junction and make a save. My save was in the daytime a little after 1pm.
2) Ride to moonstone pond
3) If the horse is there and alive on the first try, great! If not then reload
4) You should load up on a hillside among some thin white trees
5) Ride straight from the spot you reload at to Moonstone Pond. If you encounter the lady and the dead horse before the pond, reload. If you get to the pond and the horse is dead, reload. If there is no horse at all, reload. If there’s anything except what you’re looking for, reload.
6) Just repeat step 5 until the horse spawns alive. Makes for a lot less button tapping!

Thank you so much for this video :D , subscribed. Confirmed working on March 19, 2020. Camped till morning, went to the signpost, saved and did what the video showed. No sighting at the station and kept getting the dead Silver Dapple Pinto at Moonstone for a few times. After reloading, I got rid of the random encounter of the man being kicked and killed by his horse near Moonstone ( it keeps spawning before I found the dead Silver Dapple Pinto) and got the man sitting near the signpost with his horse beside him to leave (by greeting him) before saving at the signpost again and reloading. Went to the station first before going back to Moonstone and the Silver Dapple Pinto spawned alive :) Don't know where her owner went though.

Do road encounters affect the spawn? It seems like ever time I meet the hunter, kidnapped lady or the random lost guy by the boulder
Yes they affect the spawn try the other two routes that take you to moon stone pond coming from Bacchus station save a couple of times on each route before you get there so the closer you are the less chance there will be a random encounter also be patient and don't sprint it took me two hours but it should only take less than an hour if done right its that easy
I like doing this just because.
If you see the kidnapped lady, reload. If you see the guy by the boulder, reload.
If you see the guy fixing the shoe on his horse, you're good.
I have a save with this horse at only 8% completion.

For me it depended on how fast I got to moonstone pond and how long it took me to look around at bacchus station area
Guys on Xbox still works 3/24/20! Took me about hour and a half and saw a whole lot of nothing but kept faith and got it in the end. So pretty much the best steps are to turn off auto saving, and if you come across any random events other then the horse lady kill them then go back to place, CAMP till morning, THEN save your game. Again you might run into any other random events, but if so repeat the process. Once that is done, basically keep checking in the morning but check bacchus station FIRST. This part is extremely important, because it gives you the window to check for the Missouri Fox in the moonstone pond between 6:45 and 7:00. If you get the timing right, and she spawns too, you have a very high percentage of getting the horse
Once you get the horse remember to turn back on auto save

I can confirm this still works, and works in chapter 3, too. I just found her alive today at the Moonstone Pond after about five reloads. I read that for a lot of folks she was alive between 6.45 am and 7.00 am, and it was exactly 6.50 am when I found her alive. So, try to reach the crossroad around 6 am, save there, and then make your way to either of those two locations in the video just in time to reach the spot in that time.
does it have to be in the early morning because I have been doing it around like 11 am and I still haven't even found her
@@ThatGuyNYCTO I think other people found her at different times, but many did in the morning. I think it worked for some around 8.50 pm, too. Also, before you approach the spots, try to first look for the limping woman from a good distance through binoculars, wait for her to get out of sight, and then ride to the spot.

I found the horse at 1:46pm exactly so I don’t think there’s an exact time
I’ve been though countless videos and spent nearly 6 hours before trying and nothing.
It takes a lot of time, there's a few other locations that the event pops up but u just have to be super patient.

I was on my way to the crossroad location, when I saw the woman and the dead horse (somewhere up in Cumberland Forest). I panicked, thinking I’d messed up my opportunity to get the horse, and quickly loaded an autosave. I then continued to Bacchus Station, and the horse was there and alive! First time!

Hey! I’ve been trying this for a couple hours now, and still haven’t found a living one. I’ve been doing exactly this, running back and forth between the two locations. I’ve made sure when I reload I spawn in the beech trees, not by the tracks or a cliff. In the two hours so far I’ve seen the horse Dead at least nine times , always by Moonstone pond. Never anything at Bacchus station, dead or alive. Am I just really unlucky or am I doing something wrong? I’m in chapter two , met all the requirements
Hi Darby. I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It is a random event so luck does play a part. Have you tried sleeping over until the next morning. This should force the algorithm to give you a different roll of the dice, if that makes sense. Also: Do you have space in your stables to hold another horse? I'm not certain, but I think this can make a difference. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that. Good luck. Stay safe.

If you don't see any horse trust me you just need to do 2 missions then come back to location and you will atleast find dead horse then keep reloading

Still works as of 9/15/2020! I'm in Chapter 4. Decided to try this and happened to be in Valentine when I loaded game up, it was 5 AM in game time. Traveled to the Crossroads checkpoint and saved the game. First try, reloaded saved game and I was in the stand of trees. Tried both spots starting with Bacchus Station side then to Moonstone and nothing. Restarted game and did the same, nothing. Reloaded the 3rd time and headed to Moonstone first this time and ran into the Lady and dead horse, but at the top of the hill before you head down to the lake. Reloaded the 4th time and lady and a very much alive Silver Dapple were at the typical location. Got on Dapple, fed him and he was mine. Less then 10 min total. Only issue I had and it really wasn't an issue, but wolves chased me just about every time.

Confirmed still works April 29, 2020. I tried maybe 15-20 reloads but could only find the horse dead. So i left, finished a mission, then came back and tried again. Found a live horse after 3 reloads.

Hi Tomas. If you can't find it at all: let some time pass in game. Either by sleeping or buy doing another activity such as a side mission or hunting. then come back, save the game and try again. Good luck.

Update:
Finally got it! Tips for ppl. For me, the even never spawned near the tracks. It only spawned at the pond. Keep your auto save on because if the game auto saves then you know there be an event happening. Now that event could be the horse or a different one. Just keep reloading until you get the event. The even shoukd be closer to the pond. I suggest doing the events on the main road that leads to the track. If no horses ever spawn on each side, that means the even will never spawn until later. So go and play the game a bit and stop by once in awhile to check. When you see the horse you can just jump on it and run away. Then feed it while on the horse.

So if there’s an auto save event but then I still don’t see the horse, do I keep reloading my prior save (before the event), or do I have to go back and forth with the this new auto save event
@@ankitpasricha7164 Hi. I never enable autosave. Save manually at the junction. Search the two locations a few times. If you find a dead horse, reload your manual save and search again.
If you find nothing you can reload your save or leave the area ( this will reset the environment) then come back the next day, to the junction, save the game and search again. Good luck.

@Dax P I got a fox trotter now by doing the Albert Mason missions. In the third encounter, he photographs the silver dapple pinto. Track it before doing the cutscene where you talk to him after the picture and skip the cutscene. Track the horse, it took me like 10 mins, lead me all the way up to Roanoke Ridge. Once you find the horse ride next to it and jump to horse. Feed it and brush it but don't get off. Get bonding to level 1 and take it to a stable. Stable it and exit the stable and save. Reload and then saddle up the fox trotter and it's yours
It also spawns on a road to emerald ranch

It works! I kept trying off and on, and eventually did some missions and came back to the moonstone pond location. Lo and behold as I was about to lose hope there stood the fox trotter. Any time another random event would spawn I would complete it then go camp, sleep, save, and repeat. I feel so accomplished with the dark bay turkoman and then now the silver dapple pinto ✌🏻
Edit: also I was in the shady belle chapter so I don’t think it really matters when you do it

Commenting to say it worked for me :) I first found her with the dead horse by moonstone pond, I had saved before and kept reloading that save and it kept turning up dead, than I decided to try this method to get her, went to the sign, saved, followed your steps and on my third trip to moonstone found her dead on the hill, restarted and tried again, and once again on my third trip (this time by moonstone pond) she was alive! I was so excited 😆 I had wasted hours trying the other method but this one worked really fast! Second encounter with your method and she was alive so thank you

I can't tell you how much I want to thank you. I've tried this so many times, but then I found out that I had to clear all encounters and try again. At first I found nothing (countless times), then I found dead horse (more than 15 times) then I decided to do other mission, then try again. Found it on the first try after that. It's 18th May 2020, 4:45 pm (in game time) when I finally found the SDP

For anyone still wondering about this I just got it on my third attempt I saved at the junction and went straight to the pond first because I kept encountering a stranger who was trying to rob me when I went to the other spot the first two times.

Still works as of 4/15/20 on PC. Noticed if you have a carcass on the back of your horse she will not spawn. I got close to the pond then removed the carcass, and found the horse alive at 6:50 am.

31.7.20 (dd/mm/yy) i got the pinto by reloading the save and spawning where the guy in the video does, then i went to the bacchus spawn, BUT i went past the the tracks and towards the station, turned around when i reached it, headed back to the bacchus spawn point and found a dead one. When i reloaded the save, i tried going to moonstone pond (i had tried the bacchus spawn a few times, it was always dead) and it spawned alive on the first try! You’re a legend mate.

Why are there dislikes in this video? People be hating for no reason at all. This is a great video, I’m going to get me this horse by using this method. I already have a Dutch Warmblood Chocolate Roan, a Dark Bay Turkoman(I’m only on chapter 3 and this horse is only available in the epilogue) and a Reverse Dapple Black Thoroughbred.

I’m playing RDR2 for the first time because my other PS4 broke down around the time when the game was coming out and I didn’t buy a new one until Black Friday 2019, then I bought the ultimate edition version of RDR2 2 weeks ago for 60% off. I really love this game and I’m kinda taking my time playing it. Just doing side missions, hunting, robbing a few trains and coaches here and there and collecting beautiful horses. And yes, as soon as I get my hands in the Silver Dapple Pinto, I’ll send the screenshot.

A tip you must NOT have encountered the lady NOR helped her coz chances will be MORE DIFFICULT TO NONE...she will spawn around 6am-2pm while waiting do all the side missions around the area... the carriage holdup, guy got kicked by horse, man asking for help..do this first to avoid this event from triggering first and leave only the lady asking for help because of her dead pinto...you must save by 5:30am(you can rest then save the following day) to hit the time allowance then just go back and forth between the 2 locations...if no horse spawn after 2 attmpts going back and forth then reload again...hope this helps😊

Thanks for posting this, I wasn’t nearly as lucky as some people on here. Took me three hours of grinding and trying different strategies that people on here posted, until I saw the guy saying he would stop and complete the random encounters he came across before saving and continuing, and I tried that method just running back and forth between those two spots and never reloading a save until I came across the horse dead, and after completing three other random encounters (horse thief, guy getting killed by his horse while fixing its hoof, and woman being kidnapped) I found it dead, reloaded and decided to give it one last try and found her alive at the lake on my second trip back to it, much like other people on here I wanted to cry for joy after 3 hours of grinding

Just keep trying and you should get her if you roll the dice enough

I completed the other random encounters in the area and camped until morning after each one, saved at the crossroads and then ran back and forth. The first two times I found the horse dead by Bacchus and then by Moonstone Pond. I reloaded the save and on the third attempt I dashed over to Moonstone Pond and heard a woman cry out (I think it was THE woman but she didn't appear and neither did the horse). So I ran back to Bacchus and then back to the pond and the horse was standing there alive! :D Thanks so much!

BlueSamGames chapter two, moonstone pond.
There is actually another way to get it in chapter 2 with the Albert Mason mission. On the third mission Albert will want to take pictures of a herd of horses and in the herd will be the pinto. All you have to do is track the horse before you finish the mission and after the mission is over follow it. It always goes down in a spot by the river, but you still have to track it or it won’t work. I believe there’s a couple CZcams videos already on how to do it.

I tried that method and it didn’t work for me so I stole the fast travel horse carriage at emerald ranch to block the herds path to give me more time and catch up with them with my main horse. It’s also better if the MFT runs into some trees because it will slow down for you to jump on it.

BlueSamGames, i just found if we get the horse dead, just pick another route. I was come from bacchus station and see the horse dead, and the lady walk to Cucumber forest direction.
I just ride thru "indian tent" route to the pond, and the lady spawn immediately at the pond, just make sure the lady not see us, so i dont reload if i see the horse dead, just looking anothers locations the lady spawn from your videos and its work 😁

This trick still works as of 7/2/20! Did this legit about 14 times but never gave up and found her alive near Bacchus Station! I wanted her desperately for Arthur and now Arthur has her.

Found ANOTHER location. This one is on the road just below/south of Flatneck station in New Hanover, after the first main intersection, and just before the second. I wish I could post screenshots on here.

Ok I have to say this as it saved me a whole lotta time and frustration. Now first off, this video is amazing and I just love BlueSamGames. Such a great person and so very helpful and kind and generous.
Now here's my two cents partners: I know people say you can still find the horse if you've taken the owner to emerald ranch but I had no luck. I had exhausted that NPC and spent several hours trying to find even a dead horse. I did missions and came back, camped out, dealt with NPCs in the area....Zero encounters. So I just started a new game. I know it may not be worth it to some, but if you've got your heart set on that horse don't waste 10 hours trying to trigger the event if you've already interacted with the lady. It's a choice between the progress you've made and the Pinto. I chose the Pinto.
Now if you do restart please save a game at the camp. If you happen to ride out in search of the horse and see the lady on the way, reload. Let moonstone or bacchus be your first encounter.
For me, so many hours of not seeing anything, the sight of the dead horse was great! Meant I was on the right track. See, the thing is if the horse doesn't spawn dead or alive you can't tell if you're on the right track. But once u know you got a chance it's less frustrating. Took me about an hour to find. Time of day doesn't matter so don't worry. But less wolves in the daytime.
When you get to that crossroads with the signs at bacchus save the game with the sign to the west of you. Try approaching moonstone from above. Like from the northwest of the lake and see what happens.
Anyhow, I saw so many comments of people getting their horse and I felt like I was the only one with no luck. Not to squander anyone's hope but you'll definitely have a better chance starting a new game if you've already taken the pinto lady home.
Named her Biscuit. Just to see if Arthur says the name.

Your approach to finding the horse is spot on. I too think it is worth starting the game again to get the Silver Dapple Pinto.
Replaying is no hardship. After all, we love the game don't we?

@@BlueSamGames You're the real deal! My thanks to you. Agreed! Restarting my game made me realize I'd missed so many opportunities for side missions the first time around! I got to chapter 3 without having stepped in to the bank in Valentine. Then Karen said it was a shame we never robbed it! I was in the very beginning of ch 3 when I found your video and I'm so glad finding Biscuit made me go back. Haven't robbed the bank yet but I'll have a reliable getaway horse if I do!

Works as off 28 Apr 20. I got it in the evening, wasn't there near fort Wallace so went near moonstone lake and got it on my 2nd try.
