Thank you so much for the method, I’ve always wanted my Missouri Fox Trotter (that I obtain as early as chapter 2 using the Albert Mason side mission glitch) to be a male, but it would always spawn female. This method helped me out a lot, keep up the great work my friend, you earned a subscriber.
It works on all breeds that only spawn female. The wild Arabians and the American Paint with the splash pattern that spawns in NPC camps.

@@jessesanchez338 Put whatever horse you want to duplicate and change to male right outside of camp. Then do the companion glitch and kill one of their horses. They'll mount your backup horse. Whistle to toss them off and another of your backup horses will spawn in as a male.

@@bag_8014 you have to leave your secondary horse away (greyed out in minimap). This is the one you will change gender. Then, you do the gang follow glitch and head back to where you left your secondary horse. Then you blow a gang member horse to let him be on foot. Now the tricky part. If you turn the camera away from him, his horse will respawn. You don't want that to happen. So, after blow his horse Mont your own and go in the direction of the secondary. That way, the gang member on foot will eventually mount your secondary horse instead of his own respawning. When that happens, two things will happen, the secondary horse icon will turn red, like someone stole him and the game will glitch thinking that is the gang member default horse.
After that, if you dismount and mount your secondary horse AND turn the camera away the game will respawn your secondary horse, because it thinks it is the gang member's horse. This new, duplicate secondary horse will be gender swapped. Now you only need to mount this one, bound, put your saddle, whatever, and the horse will be yours.
It seems complicated, but it is fairly easy. The hardest part is to make the gang member follow glitch work. But, again, it's not that difficult.
I suck at videogames and manage to do all the time. If you need more help, iam glad to help.

@@rdr2454 Sometimes 2 a week, some times 2 a month. Depending what I'm working on and how quick I can get it to work and work easily in the video. I'm always working at something with it though. As the channel grows I'll be uploading a playthrough using the methods, so they be more consistent. Like 1 or 2 a week.

Not sure. I've never played on 1.0. Started at 1.19. You can saddle any gang horse using the companion glitch, but it won't bond, stable, or come when you whistle. Once you save exit reload it'll be a default Tennessee Walker.

You have a video showing where to do the companion glitch at Shady Belle? Where you put the enemy? You can spawn the Iron Gray Ardennes too, and I want to make it male.

Is there anyway to get the tiger striped mustang at chapter 2?
Yes, but requires A LOT of time and patience. You can go to New Austin in the buggy and chase it to the safe zone near the bridge that leads back to the Pinkerton spawn. Then call and coax it to be still and break it. Then give it a medicine tonic to protect from bullets and outrun the Pinkertons back.
I know you can’t keep any of the gang members horses using the companion glitch, but can you keep the duplicated male horse from this glitch?

Sadly won’t work for epilogue
Epilogue you can get most horses from the stable and change the sex by reloading.

@@ABCTSH I've not tried it, but you can lead enemies back to Beechers Hope with the same results. You can probably lead Charles out if he still there and make it work.

I do exactly this but it keeps spawning their original horses back. I'm currently in chapter 2 and haven't done a single main story mission so far, is that maybe the problem?
No Trick is to blow it up then jump on your horse quickly and take off. Then look back. Should spawn a duplicate of yours

Minutes ago as of posting this I was having the same problem. It finally worked when I shot a dynamite arrow which killed two of my companion's horses at the same time. Finally Dutch hopped on my Missouri Fox Trotter Silver Dapple Pinto and I was later able to materialize a male version out of thin air.

Have to have the hostage and do exactly what you see. Depends on wich horse you want as to where you get it. I have videos on how to get the one in the video.

Cool. Thanks, brother. Now I have a save with a male FT and one with a female FT 😬 Anyone figured out yet how to free roam in chapter 1? And by the way, I have done it without blowing up any horses. Simply jumped on John’s horse and he then jumps on the FT. Whistle. He gets bucked off and the male spawns for him.
I tried that a couple times but he kept jumping on my main horse. Guess I need to walk off and call the main one away. It works on all breeds that are inevitably female. Like the American Paint with "Splash" coat pattern found at camps and the few spotted Appaloosa. Wich 1 time and 1 time only in all my hours of play I did break a few spotted Appaloosa that was a male near Hanging Dog Ranch. Never since and seldom see them in the wild.
@Louis Cypher Secondary horse. It works on all breeds. Even the Arabians you find in the wild and the American Paint with a Splash pattern that always spawns at camps female.
Is there a way to duplicate horses if you're in the epilogue?
Not sure, but you should be able to buy any horse at that point except for Rachel, Buell, Raven Shire, and the Tennessee Walker you start the game with

is the horse it spawns random? or do you have to do a certain thing for it to work
Just do what's in the video. Get them out of camp, get close to your backup horse, kill their horse, ride towards your backup horse. When they mount it, whistle for it to throw them then another should spawn right out of site.
Does this work in chapter 4?
If you can find where to blow yourself up at Shady Belle to trigger the companion glitch. I've tried several times but haven't found the spot yet.

@@jameswilsonrdr2275 yeah i stable the other one and i made the other one my main horse i was about to tame the third one then i accidentally bump in to a stranger and he went mad then dutch pulled his gun out and starts shooting everyone then we ran off and he suddenly disappeared with the missouri fox trotter 😔 although it was pretty fun.
