Ikit Claw was arguing against eltharion who was the master race, the high elves and the skaven. Eltharion dared Ikit that just 2 units of sisters of avelorn could out perform an entire weapons team army.
Ikit, laughing uncontrollably, took his challenge on without hesitation and set the stage using some dwarfs as target practice (a joint entry for the book). Needless to say, the sisters couldn’t hold a candle to them.
To celebrate the win, Ikit decided to honour the army that did him proud by nuking the entire battlefield, eviscerating the dwarven corpses, the rats and the sisters all in one gigantic cloud of warpgas.

"Gifts given to Etaine" - don't forget that giving settlements is a HUGE bonus to your friendship. In my own campaign as Tomb Kings, I managed to VASSALISE Ironbow's Expedition AND Clan Angrund by giving them a city to complete a province they otherwise held. Clan Angrund even despised me when I made the offer, and still does, so the idea of getting an alliance is even less of a trouble if you do that.
All we need now is a weapons teams army with Eltharion leading it. Infinite ammo for the rat men.
Na Eltharion is better with Fire Rain rockets or Hellstorm Rocket batteries with the endless ammo skill. Better range and DPS while covering the Elves weakness which is poor artillery.
12 Sisters of Avalorn or Mistwalkers, 2 handmaidens and a Fire wizard covers all threats.

I think this guy was going for a maximum grudge army, which would have to contain units from the factions the Dawi hate the most. Unfortunately, he missed out on having a Chaos and a Greenskin unit in the army, so there's room for improvement there. Ideally, you want a Skaven, a Greenskin, an Undead, an Elven and any 1 of the Chaos factions' unit in the army. With 4 allied units allowed per army, this is doable without mods.
My recommendation would be a DE army led by Malekith, who is easily the single most hated person in the Book, and then build from there.
I agree with Malekith being the best to lead it, but keep in mind that Chaos Warriors can force-vassalize people. As Nkari I had all the major high elf factions as vassals and brought some of their units into my war against the dwarves (and the rest of the world)
4285 kills by army units vs 4937 enemy losses. Net of 652 kills from menace below, warp bomb and nuke. Not great, not terrible.

The balance of power moved enormously in your favour after the nuke at 5:35, so it was definitely a good one.
Warp lightning cannons are magic damage as well and in warhammer 3 and that has more worth. Now those weird looking rats with bows are funny as hell.

There is every reason he could have just rejected my email but took the time to reply with details. That is impressive! "Hey mate that battle is impossible. You're going to need more than one army to take out that rite of primeval glory army. Your basic archers can barely touch their thick armour. You should probably hire an army of spearmen to try counter them. Either that or just try get an auto resolve win with an ambush. No easy way to sort that out unfortunately. "

I know skryre can recruit them just fine but the Eshin version has AP missiles and I love using more type of different armies and gutter runners are one of my favorite of all
Such a wonderful video. I just did my first completion of Mortal empires in Warhammer II as skaven, as scryer on legendary and it's just wonderful to see that your formation is exactly the same as mine, and to see that you have the same kind of problems with the terrain and if that is not perfect then it heavely limits the utility of the Ratling guns ect.
one thing i noticed was that the units seems to be very idle in your fight. you comment on it yourself, the artillery units not doing much, and i notice that they don't even try to make a move for you army, after the first Menace from below. I haven't tried warhammer III but it seems like the units AI in warhammer II is much more solid and i can't help but feel that the enemies would have tried to flank you a lot more in warhammer II. also the fact that the enemy reinforcemence walk down a streight line to your army seems off, compared to what I experience in Warhammer II.
Maybe it's the constant movement of your heroes that confuse the enemies. but what a wonderful video, gave me lots of insperation for my army composition

I'm definitely one of the people who didn't have issues with the weapons team doomstack in WH2. Admittedly the only time I had one running around was in a Queek campaign of all things, and it still cleaned up the badlands very nicely, yes-yes.
I’m fairly sure Ratling Gunners are the highest damage unit in the game, obviously they’ve got stormtrooper accuracy, but I don’t think it’s any surprise that they did more than the sisters. If you look at the number of models and the missile dps that the Ratling Gunners have, I’m confident it is likely around 4 times higher than those sisters.
In fact, Ratling Gunner model count is 32 and in the video they have a 601 dps per model. The sisters have 80 model count and only 32 missile strength. That’s 19,232 total damage potential vs 2,560 total damage potential. The Ratling gunners have 7.5x more damage potential if they didn’t suck at aiming and as long as they don’t run out of ammo.

One benefit the SOA have over WT is they are bow units so can arc their shots, which means they're less affected by line of sight and you could even position them behind the ratling guns in an area with tight terrain.

I appreciate legend's practical approach, but I must say I'm impressed they managed to pull off the alliance. I've tried myself in the past for banter, and they still declared war on me so I just set up some under empires and taught those nasty elf things a lesson yes-yes 👀

It’s surprising to me, that the alliance units disappeared, as I’m currently fighting Khalida, with Thorek Ironbrow, we WERE allied, and she had dwarves in lots of her armies. Now, when I’ve provoked her into cancelling our aggrements, and we’re at war, I have to kill dwarves from my own faction. Which in itself should instantly doom them to take the slayers oath, as traitors to my realm…
I was able to vassalise Nordland in my Festus campaign. This means that I have state troopers like crossbowmen and spearmen with chaos warriors in several garrisons.

I feel the best use for sisters in this army would be for covering areas of bad terrain for rattlers. on that left flank in this battle where the rattlers were blocked. Just having a couple to cover that is worth having (maybe from an easier to ally factions). Lack of rapid indirect fire (poison mortars are too slow shooting sometimes) in poor retain is a weekends I find in certain parts of the world.
That's what more plague priests are for. The sisters won't do a better job
Holding off fast units is always better then killing a % of them.
Your weapons team can kill them, they just need more time to do so since they are killing something else ATM.
= more plague priests = more magic, more summons
They themselves can be used as a blocker for a short period of time while casting plague on itself and outperform sisters in melee in terms of damage.
Just use poison wind mortars
I know it's a unit legend never uses but I highly recommend a single death globe bombardier for short range engagements in cities and bad terrain. It is absolutely disgusting the amount of damage they do fully upgraded. Can fully wipe out 90% of an infantry unit in one volley and they have a very good fire rate. You just have to protect them from ranged units.
There is a solution to the artillery and missile units constantly moving and reforming. There is a mod that gives them a forced "Hold position" command. I've played a few campaigns with it now and it works perfectly. Units will not move at all, just fire.

I get the carronades, I some times add allied units just to add them, or he could have gotten them while he was in a place he couldn't recruit warp lightnings and they were faster in global so just got them instead.

I think Ikkit would mesh well with Soul Grinder of Nurgle trough the alliance system. It's far easier to keep a chaos alliance for him and those soul grinders have excellent anti infantry ranged whose sole downside is it's limited ammunition, which clan skryre negates, and they can tank monsters that normally could rush through your lines

Here's my armchair analysis: Ratling guns output more total damage while Sisters of Averlorn deal much higher damage in a single massed volley. I've noticed that the sisters when targeting an unshielded unit could chunk down a huge portion of its health very quickly, so maybe the person submitting it was intending this to be used that way? Even with that said, that's an awful lot of micro for an already micro intensive army.

Yet regardless, when going against wood elves or orcs you'd probably prefer having ironbreakers over having an extra plague priest, as I find those 2 factions flanking regardless of having bait and having those walls at the sides of the army can hold for a long time.
One thing that the sisters would be better at is dealing with unfavorable terrain, since they arc their shots hills aren’t a game breaker

I wonder if any doomstacks specifically benefit from alliance units... Maybe one day we can recruit heroes. Warlock engineers in a Sisters of Avelorn stack sounds nasty.
You can actually, currently working on sending one in to Legend. All you need is for a hero to be immortal, borrow the army that has the hero you want in it from your ally and deliberately kill off that hero. It'll re-spawn at your capital 5 turns later permanently under your control if it happened to be immortal. Easy heroes to do this with is Karak kadrins ghosts, wulfharts heroes or any very late game army

Strat right now: just trade x faction settlements (AI kinda dumb so you can ping pong settlement trades back and forth for thousands of relations) then just military alliance and do quests, borrow army with an immortal heroes, deliberately suicide them and you're done 5 turns later

All skaven would have been much better. Also, not sure there is a better artilery piece than plague claw catapults (Hellstorm rockets?). Particularly so when you're fighting against an enemy that has no large units.
