Montrezl Harrell - RELENTLESS 18/19

- Montrezl Harrell rampages on second units. He (literally) runs rampant on most NBA big men, but he “feasts on backups” says Zach Lowe in an article about the great bench combo that Trez and Lou Williams have become. Trez tenaciously tackles the task of taking on the tallest and most titanic of NBA players (stature-wise) and repeatedly comes out on top because he just outworks you. He'll go up and over, around, or through you if he has to. Basically this dude is all-energy, all-the-time.
It’s easy to want to give the Sixth Man award to a bucket getter, likely a guy who is on a lower end playoff team, and the guy who is starting in the same spot as him is just not quite as good but steadies the starting five…but being a Sixth Man is SO much more than that. It’s any wonder that Andre Igudoala (who was good enough to win a Finals MVP in that role), James Johnson, Marcus Smart, and guys of that sort haven’t won it yet. The last guy that even comes to mind that isn’t in the “primary bucket getter” mold would be Lamar Odom, but L.O. was a different kind of problem, especially considering he was essentially the point man for those Lakers long ago. Now, I don’t want to make it sound like Lou Williams shouldn’t get the award; on the contrary, I would genuinely love nothing more than for Trez and Lou, the dynamic duo that really keeps the Clippers clicking to share Sixth Man of the Year honors. I recognize that the odds of that happening are very slim (it would require a level of organization and planning that would be STAGGERING, just like I would LOVE co-MVPs in Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden, and co-ROYs Trae Young and Luka Doncic), but I wanted to give the former Cardinal a little something to show for his efforts this season.
At 2:30 might be one of my favorite sequences. Trez has to switch because Lou gets hung up on the Koufos pin down, closes out hard to Bogdanovic, a good shooter, and forces him to put it on the floor. As you’ll hear the announcer talk about, he goes up EARLY ready for Bogdanovic to put a shot he knows he can get to.
Quick aside because I probably won’t get this chance again: shoutout to Trez and his 2013 Louisville squad that won the later vacated NCAA title. Special shoutout to my guy Luke Hancock (the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four that year). I played with and against Luke a bunch in open runs back when he went to George Mason University (before Jim Larranaga moved to the U (of Miami), which in turn had Luke transfer over to Rick Pitino’s program)) and I was never more into a Final Four than I was that year because Luke and I were routinely among the last ones in that SkyLine gym as they were closing it for the night still shooting around.

him and kenneth faried going at it for a full playoff series would be crazy to watch
Hell yeah. That would be lit
Montrezl Harrell is like a fusion between Ben Wallace and Kenneth Faried.
YUP ABSOLUTELY !!
I would say ben wallace & kenyon martin
💯💯💯💯💯
@Jason nihhger bhhich
lol 😂 his defense is really bad compared to Ben Wallace
Imagine Steven Adams doing this....
Having his relentlessness
He'll be breaking ribs and souls in the paint banging bodies all day
Harrell is much smaller, and therefore much more agile.
@@cynkauvanyau2059 Kiwi is just not aggressive. He is a gentle giant.
Adams is way too soft
He is much slower
Lmao
What kind of a man is this...Get blocked and blocked but he will always bounce(literally) back
Normally when a big man has his ball knocked loose, he has little chance of recovering it. Not Harrell, who is very quick, has long arms, and is relentless like this video suggests.
He’s 6’8 but has a 7’4 wingspan. DAMN
@@edmichaelalobog8886 In other words, he is longer than Kawhi.
Hes a two way athletic
@@edmichaelalobog8886 he's actually 6'7.5 in shoes and has a 7'4.5 wingspan..that is just crazy
All I hear is “gimme dat sh#t” when he blocks somebody stuff lol
new manimal but with much else to show.
he's my mip this season
He looks like he works for Blacked.com lmao
Federico Bagnolini Too bad AD in LA now
Dude is an absolutely amazing shot blocker for his size. Hard to believe Morey got him in the second rd. He was so raw comming out of Louisville
I felt he should have been a late 1sr round pick! He was a beast at Louisville.
Harrell: *Blocks Shot*
Also Harrell: GIVE ME THAT SHIT!
Right when u thought the clippers defense couldn’t get any better 🤦🏽♂️. This dude , Kawhi , Pat Bev, and PG ? They about to put people in PRIZIN lol
That's the only thing that must come to your mind when you watch these highlights.. I mean good luck to any team coming to clippers trying to score! .. actually, when you think about it, on a defensive end, which other team and recent big trades come even close to current clippers?. Lakers got AD, but LeBron wasn't exactly known for playing defence last year, more of the opposite, big duo in Houston ...Harden on D?? .. Clippers are practically guaranteed lowest allowed points per game average next season... 😲
jgsk78 : I agree
@@jgsk78 the bucks is close but not quite the clamps the clips could potentially put on the whole league
@@jgsk78 that comment didn't well ,i get what you were saying it's kinda funny to read praising for the clippers defense after what happened in the playoffs
@@marouanerafiki9155 sure it turned out rather differently but that's sport, and ball.. you can never now. That's why we watch it...
"Hardwork beats talent"
I love how he’s not afraid to get blocked
he knows he can the ball right back
Saw a similar comment below but he is what Kenneth Faried was meant to be. Love his game been beasting all season despite not being a starter
I love this scrappy game he got. Hella unique especially for this generation
I don’t watch players highlights as much as I used to, but why are those so impressive? 🤔 Beverley, George, Kawhi and this beast in the same lineup, scary.
What now? Haha
Nobody:
Harrel:GIMMIE DAT SH#T!
Me: you got it.
Siakam needs one of these, also more passing and lockdown highlights plz and thank you
Chetti Scal is next. These are gonna be kind of my awards push videos. Trez won’t win 6th man, but Lou will (pun intended), but I wanted to show him love anyway. Scal is next and my pick for Most Improved.
Evin Gualberto more lockdown vids please I love those vids because they help me a lot on improving my defense 😊
Evin Gualberto Hey Evin, I really appreciate your work. And I would really be grateful if you make one for Bradley Beal with his play this past season.
I always remember Big Ben when I see Harrell plays.
He is basically upgraded version of faried.
I'm a Sixers fan and this guy is my favorite player. He's a true warrior. He doesn't miss games.
now he plays for you guys
He’s playing fundamentally and out hustles everyone on the floor I know coaches still value that.
This is what i wish embiid played like 100% of the time he would be literally unstoppable..but hes more of a finesse player super skilled so hes good either way. I love watching Harrell in the paint reminds me of a miniature version of shaq in the paint way back. Just super aggressive and persistent, dunking over anyone who stands under the basket.
Savage Opress you do realize embiid is at least 25 pounds heavier than this guy?
@@MuckNoya okay?
He's 9 pounds heavier not 25. Given the Hight differnce Trezz would most likely be stronger. Even at 6'8 Trezz standing reach is only 2 inches shorter the Embeeds witch is insane.
Every time this man blocks someone he screams “gimme that shit” 😂😂😂
No one:
Absolutely fucking no one:
Montrezl: “AYEE”
He always says " give me that!" When he go for the block haha
He says "give me that shit" it's a pretty common phrase in the basketball community
This guy is great to watch especially for young players learning how to play in the paint. He shows just how effective you can be by just using your body as well as out working your opponents for easy buckets
He’s a beast in the paint!
If he get a shooting skill, he's unstoppable
I love the graceful curry and kyrie soft touch basketball. It’s nice to watch. But this is the kind of basketball you LOVE. Watching a man visibly play his heart out. To be in the paint so gritty outworking 3, 4 other guys. Shit is beautiful
Underrated so good
watch him come back w that 20+ foot jumper this year
This guy is a beast
We miss this kinds of centers
Next season its gonna be a lot of “gimmie dat shit” and “board man gets paid” in the paint 😂
He reminds me a bit of Ben Wallace. Not super skilled but he will out compete you. He will work harder than you every play even if you beat him. He has a tenacity not a lot players this day and age have.
Shannen M He reminds me of him a LOT
WALLACE AND FARIED SON
He yells “gimme that shit” on damn near every block 😂😂
Underrated
Dude reminds me of Ben Wallace
Mr.Give me that Shit , I’m starting to love this guy lol
Damn I thought Golden state picking up Cauley-Stein was impressive and then I see him being constantly outworked and abused by Harrell. 🤨
Hard work over everything is his motto based off these highlights.
monster harrell
“GIMME THAT SHIT!!” Mood all 2019
2:10 "gimme that shit" lmao that's some KG shit right there
Underrated power forward/center
Mr. Relentless is real🔥
Guy's driven.rampage!!
2:02 “gimme dat shii” 🏀👋🏿🏃🏿♂️
I love that he shouts "Give me that shit!" when he blocks :P
I noticed he does a good job maintaining composure with low entry passes.
OH ME OH MY! Trezz is easily one of the most entertaining players in NBA today. Def underrated af.
After the year montrezz has at Louisville I was literally screaming at the tv every time he didn’t get picked in the 2015 draft , can’t believe he fell to the 2nd round
Montezl “gimme that shit” Harrell
😂 at the 2:03 mark he yells “Give me that shit”. Out there clowning fools.
Montrezl “gimme that shit” Harrell
"Gimme dat shit!" - Montrezl Harrell
Trez out there taken souls in the paint
So savage!!!!
Every 5 seconds “gimme that shit!”
Old school powerforward
Can we get Hakeem Footwork?
Nobody :
Montrezl Harell : GIMME THAT SHIT.
Love watching him play. he's gotten so much better since Houston dumped him for Capela.
He's the modern day Ben Wallace but more capable on offense. I loved Montrez's game since he was back at Louisville.
Montrezl "Give me that shit" Harrell
Should be titled Montrezl Harrell "Give Me that Shit!" 😂
This guy plus beverly, pg ang khawi. Defense madness
"Gimme that sh🤬🤬t"
Strong.
Montrezl "Give Me That Shit" Harrell

relentless finisher Hof
This guy is the aggressive version of DeAndre Jordan mark my word he’s gonna be all star someday 💪🏼👍🏼
💙❤️
“gimme that” “gimme that shit”
Can you do a video of Derrick Rose 2018-2019?
He's playing the game what it suppose to be.
He’s basically what I thought Kenneth Faried and JJ Hickson would be
Offensive Ben Wallace 🔥 🔥
Faried and Ben Wallace in one person
@39sec that's a sickest Clippers jersey ever
It’s like he levels up when he gets an offensive board or gets blocked.
2:00 💀✋🏾
2019 LA Clampers gone be locking shit up
Imagine. Patbev , kawhi , paulgeorge , faried , harrell =💣💥🔒
2nd round exit 😂
“Gimme dat shit”
“GIMME DAT SHIT”
Watching this, you would think Harrell is a bad finisher who always go after his misses. No, Harrell has tons of finishing skills, and has a very high efficiency.
Our Dennis Rodman
"Gimme dat shit"
2:03 "Give me that shitt"
Would like to see him use his left hand more... still a beast anyways!
Montrezl "Gimme Dat Shit" Harrell
