NYC isn't an easy place to live, especially where he is from. You have to work to get where you want to go. He has improved tremendously since he got into the league. To the point that he is a top ten player right now and is in consideration for MVP.

I agree with Kenny for the most part. I didn’t pursue basketball in college but up until then I didn’t have to work. My whole life was basketball summer league, AAU, tournaments, etc I loved it so much but you best believe if we got whooped, we would have been in the gym the next day.(You don’t practice you don’t play)

Stockton didn't even rest during the off-season, so when the season started back up he wouldn't have to get back in shape like a lot of other guys struggled with. Which makes sense when you see that he played 17 full seasons of not missing a single game. These guys are too afraid that if they do well then the current management will get credit; They'll have to have a 'players only' meeting and decide to play basketball for themselves and for the fans instead of making sure the franchise stays in the toilet.

Even if you're PLAGUED with injury on the WHOLE roster, the opposing team can still send out their bums to give their stars a rest, so to hear KG parrot this weak shit from office goons MAKES ME FUCKING SICK. We can all be working harder towards our goals and dreams, but rarely do we have a metric in life to determine our personal progress. Sports do, however, offer several criterion for measuring skill and success - because men lie, women is, but the numbers don't.

I know it’s hard to waste spots with the cap but I think it’s important at least for young teams.

This steel company I worked for took me through it when I got hurt on the job (I called OSHA multiply times about unsafe practices.) and at the end they filed for bankruptcy my attorney stated my lawsuit would not result in me getting justice (us getting the bag) because of this fake justice system in America works for the Corporations not the people. So, I have some an idea what it is like to have been done dirty by a company but I am still OK and I still take pride in my work because I have honor, respect, and pride in my work whether anyone else does or doesn't.

This notion that a single generation is doing something as such is dead wrong. There have been these types of people throughout history. It's just that now social media exists and the internet has become such a big part of all of our lives that we see it as more common. But in reality nothing has ever changed.
At the end of the day the ownership goes to leadership. Throughout history I don’t remember hearing laziness taking down the Romans, the Greeks or the Persians. It’s always been leadership... allowing your empire to become too large and uncontrollable. The empire didn’t just happen to become enormous at the same time people were becoming less patriotic. What our government allows has an effect on the people not the other way around. All you have is a hunch and that’s all... if you can’t explain it with sources I don’t want to hear it.
KG sums up why those older teams actually could compete with and beat today's teams. Sure, today's teams are more versatile, better shooters, and better ball handlers, but IQ (some from practice), killer mentality, and work ethic are lacking.

This is the first year that I have still yet to actually watch an NBA game in like 20 years. I blame it on the fact that when I get home from work I got family responsibilities, now, but I wonder if my distaste for this generation of players, this all offense, no defense type of game, and the warriors being so talented has a larger impact than I thought? All sports have changed greatly, especially the big 3 (MLB, NBA, NFL). This is not unique to the NBA at all, but it feels more prevalent because the league is growing. Even soccer is getting that way to an extent, but we don't hear about it because it's not big here.

i swear 99% of the dudes in the nba only want the money, fame and image of being on tv that comes with being in the league. i can count on two hands the players that have the drive and work ethic to want to be great. mj, the goat, said it best, he said that practice was extremely important because it helped him develop a routine and when game time came around he has already experienced it and saw it play it in practice so it was just a matter of him executing.

These guys are worried about their brand and their investment portfolio. Basketball is way down the list.
Stockton didn't even rest during the off-season, so when the season started back up he wouldn't have to get back in shape like a lot of other guys struggled with. Which makes sense when you see that he played 17 full seasons of not missing a single game. These guys are too afraid that if they do well then the current management will get credit; They'll have to have a 'players only' meeting and decide to play basketball for themselves and for the fans instead of making sure the franchise stays in the toilet.

Rest and Recovery are the Yin to Competition and Training's Yang for an athlete. You need both to succeed, but if your team isn't cutting the mustard, it's rarely because you're not rested enough. That toll unfortunately tends to manifest in the form of injury, which can be avoided by load management, but losing by 50+ points? Even if you're PLAGUED with injury on the WHOLE roster, the opposing team can still send out their bums to give their stars a rest, so to hear KG parrot this weak shit from office goons MAKES ME FUCKING SICK.
We can all be working harder towards our goals and dreams, but rarely do we have a metric in life to determine our personal progress. Sports do, however, offer several criterion for measuring skill and success - because men lie, women is, but the numbers don't.

@Bacons Strip I have been to places in the World where it seems everything a person did in their own country was degrading like women and men prostituting themselves for money, selling fake knock off stuff for a living, etc... So, I know there is layers to life not a cookie cutter fix for everything. I was injured on my former job over a decade ago just trying to make it through college while working full-time and going to college full-time. This steel company I worked for took me through it when I got hurt on the job (I called OSHA multiply times about unsafe practices.) and at the end they filed for bankruptcy my attorney stated my lawsuit would not result in me getting justice (us getting the bag) because of this fake justice system in America works for the Corporations not the people. So, I have some an idea what it is like to have been done dirty by a company but I am still OK and I still take pride in my work because I have honor, respect, and pride in my work whether anyone else does or doesn't.

This notion that a single generation is doing something as such is dead wrong. There have been these types of people throughout history. It's just that now social media exists and the internet has become such a big part of all of our lives that we see it as more common. But in reality nothing has ever changed.
At the end of the day the ownership goes to leadership. Throughout history I don’t remember hearing laziness taking down the Romans, the Greeks or the Persians. It’s always been leadership... allowing your empire to become too large and uncontrollable. The empire didn’t just happen to become enormous at the same time people were becoming less patriotic. What our government allows has an effect on the people not the other way around. All you have is a hunch and that’s all... if you can’t explain it with sources I don’t want to hear it.
KG sums up why those older teams actually could compete with and beat today's teams. Sure, today's teams are more versatile, better shooters, and better ball handlers, but IQ (some from practice), killer mentality, and work ethic are lacking.

Guys like KD or James, still playing, still getting coaches fired. And the no practice thing is weird. But players are different today. They don't even want to try to play the 82 game season.

This is the first year that I have still yet to actually watch an NBA game in like 20 years. I blame it on the fact that when I get home from work I got family responsibilities, now, but I wonder if my distaste for this generation of players, this all offense, no defense type of game, and the warriors being so talented has a larger impact than I thought? I still watch highlights, I still listen to podcasts, I still pay attention, but I haven't watched a single game, this year... Anyone else in this boat?
