  • I had previously attend this site for the freezer intermittent tripping the breaker. Found the LHS evaporator fan motor filled with ice. Return with the new fan motor to repair. While there I was asked to look into the door/pressure relief heaters.
I was also there to replace a high pressure transducer on a Daikin cassette unit.

Haha glad I was able to help in a small way. They do seem too frequently sometimes!

I just moved to Straya from the US and I was a reefer tech back home. I'm trying to get familiar with your brands over here. It looks like you guys use the same stuff.

You’re the second person I’ve heard of recently who made the move. Congratulation. Main units I see would be Kirby, Acpac, Tecumseh and Danfoss. I’m sure I’m missing something 😂

@@hvacraustralia Your electrical system is different here I noticed. Different voltages, wiring colors and stuff. It looks better to be honest, looks more European.

Haha yeah must be a bit of a shift. It always throws me when I watch guys on CZcams and they start taking about 208V three phase and 120V etc 😂

Swapped two ebm fan motors with tecumseh the other day. Figured you'd just be able to smack the blanking plug thing out of that spare gland hole... nope.
Your way seems much more reasonable! How were the threads after you drilled it out?

I couldn’t believe it the first time, tried to smack them out too. I think a 15mm drill bit would be perfect. I only have a 15.5mm so I need to be careful not to strip them. If I’m careful with the angle the threads are fine. I’ve definitely stripped one before though haha massive pain.

Hi, Mate. Is a HVAC service technician role stressful? I can see from your videos that the work is often very fast paced.

Hey mate. That’s a complicated question. There are definitely stressfully sections of the trade but there are so many different areas you can choose what you want. Before commercial HVACR I used to work on large scale refrigeration and fault finding a massive cool room with a farms entire stock worth $500,000 + is stressful. It can also be stressful early days after being qualified feeling like you need to know everything. But eventually you develop a confidence in yourself and your ability. You realise you can’t know everything, there’s just too much information, but you feel that you will work it out. Long story short, I used to find it a bit stressful, but now I have confidence that, whatever the system, I’ll work my way through it. Very rarely am I’m stressed at work anymore.

@@hvacraustralia Thanks for your long typing. I used to repair AC for 2months only and lost that job, not because of my performance, the company downsized. I found stressful during that period. I was thrown to the service field without training and much back support. I was given a number of clients everyday and scheduled time for each job. I was chased by the next customer and the company all the time. Although I can finish all scheduled tasks most of the time. I didn't work back to that field after quitting that job. You're legend, wish you more and more successful.

That sounds rough man. Where I am now we request the time we need to do the job. If service calls take longer than expected that’s just what happens. If needed we can always reschedule jobs. Being loaded up with jobs and expected to get them all done only leads to more mistakes. Thanks mate, you too.
