- This is only my second attempt at this after watching a tutorial by Thak Ironworks. If you don't know him please check out his channel for some great content / thakinc
It didn't turn out too bad but I would definitely do a few different things next time. #GaryHuston #Blacksmithing #Farrier #ASMR #Horseshoeing #Fabrication #Ironwork #Hoofcare #welder #repairs #horse #farriery #engineering - Zábava
Ack ack ack.. Aaack Ack.....
"Mars Attacks!" reference for the uncultured or non movie nerds😂😂 Excellent forging, I'll have to check out the original.
Hey! Thanks for the mention Gary!
No worries, you deserve it as you have some awesome content 👍
Really good explanations as you demonstrate. 🦾
Awesome job, dude! Greetings from a brazillian blacksmith
Looks like an Annunaki Skull - haha ! Interesting video , thanks
When you are detailing the teeth, try keeping your elbows tucked in tight to your sides. It helps keep your arms steady. Otherwise there is just so much leverage starting at your shoulders. This shortens everything up. And for even tighter control hold your breath as you align the chisel.
I'm picturing a gate with these details at each point, capping internal bars that are suspended inside and terminate at the bottom of the gate, every other bar. Would be just like visiting Baba Yaga's house! Great for those Gothic types who like those sort of details year round and not just during the Halloween season.
At any rate looks great, sir! Far better than anything I ever churned out at only my second go! Cheers!
Nice anvil! Skull is awesome.
Great fun Gary. Always loved your videos.
just awesome! when you resculpted the nose from the round hole. once that nose sharpened up...blam! perfect skull! super skillful love it
Thanks for another great video Gary. I had an injury to my right arm and can't handle large material right now but I made my first skull after watching this video. I used 1/2 square. Put a skull on one end and a church key style bottle opener on the other. Put a twist in the middle and am very happy with it. Your videos lay out the process very well and make it easy for me to follow. Thank you.
Looks good to me. Thanks for showing them to us. Much appreciated....
As soon as you folded it back to make the back of the skull I thought of Thak. Nice work.
Awesome job Gary!! Thank You Wayne.
Thanks
I love it the way it is! Really nice proportions. Gave me an idea for something I want to try. Thanks for sharing!
looks very good!!..great tutorial!!
Nice... Thaks channel is cool as well, thanks for the recommend.
Great job, as allways!
i am so doing this for a bommel on a knife !! thanks for the video Gary !!
Very nice! Mr. Gary
Amazing video.
Good stuff.
That's brilliant Gary.
thanks
Hi Gary! Another great video... I use leather gardening gloves when sculpting steel town and country best ones.. a good grip and feel
Very nice job sir!!
For your 2nd one I think you did a good job. 👍👍
Awesome I love it
great job, very nice
Awesome!
Gary, a couple days ago I removed both ends of a RR Spike and gave this a try. I didn't anticipate struggling as much as I did and I hope it's because it was my first attempt. I managed to salvage it with some filing and use of my dremel. Back to the forge for attempt #2, hopefully less filing and dremel work will be involved. 🔥🔨
Lol! Keep at it!
Great tutorial! I like the skull, he looks a bit like those 1950s cartoon skeletons, personaly i absolute love that style.
very cool. I'll try tomorrow.
Good stuff
This may be perfect for top of walking stick if it is big enough to go in the palm.
This one is a bit small but the next one I made from 1" square was just about right if you have smallish hands ,but it's quite heavy!
Or a real nice gear knob.
Love it
Good vid mate
Well outstanding job for sure. Now make 99 more lol ( silly reference to make 100 leaves or 100 S hooks) but it did turn out quite well.
Ahh Thak, yes hes quite the interesting fellow. Actually really talented and very experienced in a wide bit of schools of smithing all the way thru Armor making! Vast amount to learn from this guy.
Thank you for sharing this and having us out to the smithy.
🙏 be blessed now
Crawford out 🧙♂️
For my vew i tho that it came out explendid... im a professional welder AND a radiologist aswell, and thats' spot on.(keep up the good work mate) LOVE your videos
Very nice
Another great video Gary, I've forged skulls before but not close to this method. I don't have any 3/4" material but I do have quite a few R.R. Spikes, spikes are generally 5/8" square but every now and then You might run across one larger. I'm looking forward to giving this a try.
Mike. 🔥🔨
Very nice skull!
I will try and make one some day.
maybe with a step down, forming a chin.
That would make a great pommel for a pirate cutlass...
or a badass cane
Good job. I haven't been happy with any of the videos I've seen till now. I want to do some for pommels on smaller knives. Looks like I got some paying to do. Thanks
Craftsman!!
Looks good definitely a alion. M
Very Tim Burton well cool
Neanderthal skulls have a distinct brow. Those of us who preserve the Neanderthal DNA have brow ridges too.
Super...
Great as always! I've noticed that small crosspein hammer you were using is it one you have made from a ballpein hammer? I would love to see a video of you making one. Keep up the good work!!!
No, it’s just shop bought. I can’t see the point in making hammers when they are readily available and cheap off the shelf!
I'd say it turned out great! Looks a lot like the skeletons from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Hey Gary great vid any chance your going to makers central this yr would be good to see you there
I’ve been for the last two years and find it dull so probably won’t be going this year unless they announce something worth seeing!
Next for a punisher skull...
And next week, Gary will be forging a portrait of Crocodile Dundy!!
Good job keep make them try 1 with a full jaw. You could make good money on them for shifter knobs
Круто!
yeah
pretty decent, next up forging a horse skull :)
That angle tool is pretty awesome. Is the hole in it for a reason?
No reason, it was just in the piece of angle i used.
@@garyhuston ok thanks I might try to make one. Not sure if you check your Instagram much but I sent you a dm with a link to a template for those Fredrick's crosses in different sizes, I know you don't need it but I thought it might come in handy sometime.
@@OrionsAnvil Thanks, just found it, very useful. Thanks very much.
I am going to try that on the end of a horseshoe
Darn it I going to have rewatch that video again
💀👍
😮👏👏👏👏👏⚒👍🙂
My skull has a brow
Good for you.
@@garyhuston I am a cave man
Do you have a Discord or anything like that? I’d like to chat for ideas sometime
No idea what you are asking!
@@garyhuston it’s a social media app/site where you can make a community for your channel
Never heard of it.
Не фонтан.Но покатит.
Definitely different to hear an Aussie using the imperial system of measurement instead of metric.😁
Who’s the Aussie?
Dude. Gary is from the U.K.!
