For £120, I expect something physical tbh. A disc, a map, a small physical art book etc. And even then £120 is too expensive for anything less then a collectors edition. In 2016, i bought the Dark Souls 3 collectors edition for £100, got a statue, a hard back artbook, a cloth map, and a few other things.
I feel like ubisoft have done this just to incentivise paying for their Ubisoft+ subscription.
In 2023 Diablo 4 collectors edition came without a game
that's exactly why they did it. their thought process is, if 1 million players buy the sub, all they need is 20% of them, 200,000, to forget they have to sub or keep the sub to play their other titles. just off of 200,000 they'd be making 4 million a month.
all subscription services benefits the most from people forgetting they have them. I've paid ff 14 for 8 months and I only logged in once before I finally cancelled it. so it's better for them to get as many people to pay the sub as possible because it'll be more likely that more people forget.
not to mention if you hate the game you can't refund it on the sub, they get your 20 bucks whether you play it or not

starfield took 8 years and hundreds of devs to make and turned out as a steaming pile of garbage, vs something like Stardew taking a handful of devs and a fraction of the budget to produce something people have been playing for years and it only costs like $15 bucks

I checked prices here in Australia, at major retailer that usually has best and cheapest prices, JB Hi-Fi, physical editions.
Normal base game is $89 AUD, the Gold edition that gets you that 3 day access, and the season pass which includes the 2 upcoming story DLC, and the instant unlock of the exclusive day 1 Jabba’s Gambit mission, is $169 AUD!
It’s pretty much double the price!!!

The trailers for this game were obviously upvoted with bots. 2 trailers both had 26k likes really quickly, then the downvotes came, barely any extra upvotes but the downvotes just keep going up.

@@Quintessence4444probably. 2016 is when all the companies dropped any and all subtleties with their political and social views and it’s only got worse from there so it’s likely with BioWare it started a little earlier but Inquisition had a lot of somewhat valid defences with it being in the Frostbite engine and all. (Also everyone want to feel old Dragon age inquisition came out 10 years ago and was probably BioWares last mediocre-good game)

1) It’s a Star Wars game
2) It’s Ubisoft trying to monetise it to hell and back

It used to be 60-70 back in the day but around when the ps4/xb1 was out, games price went up, most AAA games on release physical copy are close to 90 if not more now.

It's not just the fact that it's $110 for the "complete" game. It's how they did it. They included "DLC" on the day the game was released, but it wouldn't have taken much to remove that from the original game, then call it DLC, and slap an additional charge so you can play it.
It's outright scummy business practice and highway robbery. What do you expect from Ubisoft's first "AAAA" SW game?

@@DiragonProductions Try looking at some pictures of the real woman they used as a model for the main character. They clearly chose to make the character less attractive than her. And don't say they couldn't do it, that's complete BS. With the graphics that exist now, it's easy to make beautiful female characters.

Like you can say "we need more body types to be inclusive", but then why aren't they making good fat characters, why are they admittedly changing body types of ESTABLISHED characters who where previously curvy and attractive to be significantly less so? Was Harley Quinn having a nice ass sexist? Cortana?
Character design in video games has always been entirely deliberate, they are often the face of the game, so frequently and deliberately changing characters to not be that, implies that instead of making games more inclusive by adding characters with more body types, they're instead treating a particular female body type as if it's problematic,

I guess it must be a pure coincidence with the general movement in the gaming industry in the last few years which consist in making the characters uglier than their own 3D model irl in order to attract a certain category of degenerates who think they're so virtuous but in reality, simply can't cope with the fact they are much more beautiful people than them, in video games or irl.

Because its a cool setting, i never played a open World Star wars game before, and i rly dont care if the Main character is super hot or not. She looks fine to me. I wont pre order tough, i will see the end result of it when it comes out and then decide to buy it. I can totaly understand the hate on the price, 130 is redicilous, but the normal game will cost 70 i think, which im okay with.
@@Riccolino. Just a friendly reminder that Baldur's Gate 3 costs 60$, which is 10$ more than they planned since they needed to make money to make the entire studio to go from red to green (from what I remember).
They price the game at 70$ without DLC. While it indeed is unreasonable to expect the same amount of detail and content as Baldur's Gate 3, pricing it at nearly DOUBLE Baldur's price is unreasonable, as let's be honest: it will be actually surprising if it gives 80% of what Baldur did WITH dlc's.
It's good if you can afford it, but it's still overpriced. GTA V on release, was 60$ I believe. It was packed with good story and brought YEARS of good online enjoyment.
50$ is where the base game should be at, with 60 being ok if it's really good.
I really don't think people being ok with 70$ base game is a good thing...

@@Riccolino. If you value it as such, then good for you, but in the first place games costing 70$ is in itself a problem, because 90% of them shouldn't. Cases where they are rushed/filled with bugs/released prematurely are too common.
But if you are satisfied with what you get for these 70$ then there's nothing more to add. Enjoy it, hopefully without seeing comments such as this one to spoil your enjoyment. Have a pleasant day/night.
