Remodeled my kitchen in June 2019 , with a BLANCO composite double sink creamy white, it was nice looking for a few months. So hard to keep up with this sink . I will definitely go back with Stainless steel . 🙂
I totally understand. Here are some thoughts to ponder before you make that decision. Best of luck and let me know if I can help. czcams.com/video/XcZGGDNTOwc/video.html
I have a black Blanco composite granite sink and it looked chalky. I saw a couple of videos that suggested rubbing it down with cutting board oil or mineral oil or even vegetable oil on a paper towel, then letting it sit for a few minutes. Then just wipe the oil off with a soft cloth. My sink looks like new!
Yes! I have very hard water as well!!!
I totally get it. Let me know if any of these solutions work for you. :-) And make sure you're subscribed so you never miss an episode.
We have very hard water in our cottage in Canada. I use vinegar and baking soda to clean many things. I did not know if I could use a composite sink, I hope they don’t scratch up easy. I bathe my small dog in my sink....so my sink get a good cleaning often.....
Composite is definitely one of the lowest maintenance materials you can get. Just make sure it's a reputable brand (I prefer either Blanco or Franke).
How do you repair chipping on a composite sink?
I got a black quartz sink and noticed a simple pass with a paper towel made some scratches it gives me anxiety , how can I remove them ??
I saw you dump boiling water but don,t I have to turn cold water tap at the same time while I dump boiling water in the composite sink bowl so that the composite bowl is not crakced ?
It’s always a good idea to be careful. Just like looking both ways before you cross the street. But you don’t have to be afraid of occasionally throwing some hot water in there.
Thank you very much!
Thanks for the helpful tips, barkeepers friend works really well for maintenance. My white granite composite sink has a hairline crack is there a good way to clean that crack before I try to repair it?
OMG!!! Thanks!
You're very welcome :-)
Can I pour boiling water onto Franke black composite sink when draining pasta ?
I boil water and dump it down the drain all the time. In fact I did it in this video right here. czcams.com/video/yahdf9Ascw4/video.html
New subscriber here... thank you for your knowledge, it's very helpful! We currently have a double bowl stainless steel sink and are in the middle of remodeling our kitchen. I watched your sink video and it got me leaning towards a double bowl fireclay apron sink with the shorter divider between the bowls. (Loved the long-handled fry pan demo; I hadn't thought of that so it was super helpful!) We have hard water (not rusty, but limey) so I can relate to water spots! We have a cottage style house and I think that apron front fireclay will be beautiful, but my husband is concerned with the "toughness" of them. What's your opinion on how well they hold up to banging pots and such? What are the best brands?
I actually damaged the cast iron skillet 🍳 in this demonstration. That tells you how dense it is. vm.tiktok.com/J8D8LXu/
@@RemodelMedia Wow, that's amazing! Thank you so much! My husband seems on board now! Lol!

Hello, New subscriber here. I’m trying to find a single bowl drop in sink is 33 by 22. 9 inch deep Im about to purchase one a black one but deciding if I should do black faucet and stainless steel or silicone bottom grid. Which one do you recommend? Is Karran a good brand?
My dark gray blanco sink has some water rings I believe from two cups sitting in the sink for a few days and I cannot get the rings out. I’ve used bar keepers friend with a scrub daddy sponge and some baking soda with vinegar and let it sit about 15 minutes. Any advice on what else to try?
So what type of sink material is best to get with very hard water? I would like it to look nice but don't want to put too much effort into it everyday. Thanks!
The lowest effort sink materials are either composite or fireclay. I did a full breakdown here in this video. czcams.com/video/3rHhB_9mmhU/video.html
Out of the box my Kraus granite composite sink was lighter than expected and it somewhat resembled plastic. It reminded me a little bit of a plastic janitorial sink for a garage. It also wasn't smooth, it had a texture to it. Is this normal?
I’m not sure about the color but I know the plastic textured feel is pretty accurate 👍🏻 I always recommend people see the product before they buy it. I know Lowe’s typically displays the Kraus.
You should check out this video at about the 5:25 mark czcams.com/video/3rHhB_9mmhU/video.html
Excellent, thanks! How about the sink strainers/drains? I see in your videos, you've combined typical stainless steel strainers with the composite sinks. But Blanco sells strainers (plastic from what I've learned) that match the composite sink color. Are these worth it, in terms of quality, durability, and cleaning? Thanks!
I hope this video I made for you today helps here’s the link. vm.tiktok.com/JLmd3Cb/
@@RemodelMedia Thanks! You're very helpful. Sounds like you would recommend the Celcon Blanco strainers.
Not a sink cleaning question but would drain opener damage a quartz sink?
Most major brands will be ok with things like Drāno I wouldn’t use sulfuric acid based products though.
@@RemodelMedia Thanks!
Not a problem happy to help
Thanks so much for your videos! I’m in the middle of a kitchen remodel and I’m hesitating between fire clay and granite composite (Blanco). I recently watched a CZcams review saying blanco undermount double bowl low divide is the worst you can buy (that’s the one I was eyeing) :( Do you agree? What do you recommend between the 2? Quality, scratch resistance and maintenance are my main concerns. Thank you!!
I'm partial to single bowl sinks myself. I'm doing the Blanco Precis Metallic Gray Super Single in my remodel right now. I did a video on how to pick the right kitchen sink a while ago.
Try checking out this sink tutorial here. czcams.com/video/3rHhB_9mmhU/video.html
Don’t make this so difficult. All you need is Comet and a non-scratch scotch pad.
