- RushFPV VTX's have always impressed me with just how clean and noise-free their picture is. This time I'm looking at something significantly smaller from them - so let's check out how their VTX's perform in a smaller package!
Once again, the CZcams version of the DVR does differ significantly from my goggle view. I don't know if it's the upscaling, or the compression or what, but for whatever reason, the resulting footage on CZcams looks much worse than when actually flying.
This VTX was kindly supplied by Banggood for review, so please use this (affiliate) link if you want to take a look at the product in more detail www.banggood.c...
The more basic VTX (without the breakout boards) is also available here www.banggood.c...

That things tiny, I like how Rush present a neat completed product...So many have no regard for mounting, which is so annoying.
Quite nifty aren't they. I wish I'd opened up that package first :D
Yeah, not only do they make that mount work for the Tiny Tank on the typical size of quads you'd use it with, but having a spot for the Crossfire Nano is quite the Cherry on Top of your sundae! 🍒🤘Brilliant, Mate! 😜
Another great review from CurryKitten. Thanks for what you do for us.
My pleasure - glad it was useful
Fantastic flying and review, Wayne! 😃
Really impressive little VTX!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks MC - hope you are doing well
Great little vtx, fitted one to my Tyro89 with cherry antenna. Superb bit of kit
Those cherry's are quality as well - nice work
got onw for my night build the frsky archer m+ work in the recier spot as well its awsome sir great vid again
Handy to know. I haven't tried any of the archer rx's - how are they ?
@@CurryKitten they are absolutley the best the m+ is great for small builds and the rs is excellent mid range reciever i love the access protocl but i joined fpv only a year ago i fly everyday tho ...lollove the hobbie and ur vids
This is tiny amazing vtx 👍
Very true
Nice quality picture and fantastic range.
I do like the Tanks, was flying the Tank Ultra II yesterday - also excellent
Mine gets super hot!
Old video for me to reply to haha but I wonder how well some copper tape with kapton tape to insulate it would do for isolating noise from the escs It may be a good idea for more crammed drones like these
Just a thing to maybe think about. You said in the beginning to like or dislike but wouldn't that reminder be more efficient, when asking at the end, when everyone saw the Video and made up their mind ?
You'd think so wouldn't you, but the reality is that quite a small percentage of people actually make it to the end. It was actually a CZcams channel manager that said "you need a call to action at the beginning" as they tell me they have stats to backup the idea of asking closer to the beginning
How much did this build weigh? Awesome build!
Hey i got my tiny tank on the 25mm board how do I get the LED's on it to light up in the color I want?
good vid bro i lost video to my drone in the woods yesturday before work so i dissarmed so it didnt drifft spent hours looking battery must if come unpluged as my buzzer not working plus no sigal to radio it was then that i new i was in troble ots ether up a 100 foot tree or berred in moss etc looked all last night till 9ish as you know it stays light in uk till 10 try again tonight but im not hopefull just keep trying summer will be over before i can save up for the parts to build a new one wife and grandson have to come first hope your haveing a better week take care bro that vtx is great sorry for the rant
Sorry to hear that - I had troubles of my own yesterday nearly losing a quad. Can I strongly suggest you invest in a battery backed beeper though. They really do come into their own if you get a battery disconnection, and are really loud. Do you have any DVR footage to go through so you can try and find the likely crash site? Good luck on the search - I hope you get it back
@@CurryKitten thats what im goig to do but we ever do things till its to late lol what happend to you yesturday
It's a bit of a long story - but look for a few upcoming reviews of the Tank II VTX and the Baby Ratel Camera as I was attempting to review these whilst simultaneously crashing into trees, loosing beepers and coming off worse against the brambles :D
@@CurryKitten my good must be something in the air bro lol been out tonight agaon 3of us me my son ahd grandson looked for hours ni good ill keep looking but o think it will be seen when the trees are bare i have ni way of replaceing the parts to build a new drone at the moment of theirs any parts you done with id love em
What's the best performing VTX, that's reasonably small in size & weight, but uses an MMCX? You've tested so many, I'd like to know what you've found to be great! 🤔
I've had so many problems with .ufl, that it's dead to me! Since I went to exclusively to MMCX, I haven't had even one issue! It's perfect!
A few different MMCX VTX's you really think perform great, super tiny, and medium size, would be great.
I've used the RushFPV Racing VTX, but it's kinda big, even for my 3" quads! 😕
I mostly fly who0ps up to 2.5".
Thanks, and like usual, an awesome review! 😁💚
I actually really like the RushFPV stuff, my favorite being the Rush Tank Ultimate+, but that's for a 30mm stack. On the 20mm side of things the Tank Mini is also very good and has MMCX. Their Cherry antennas are also really good. I'm no fan of UFL either. Sometimes the MMCX can be an issue where there's no flex in the crimp part of the pigtail, but still better than UFL
Not the lightest nano VTX, but pretty good performance. Worth the weight unless you are trying to save every last milligram (Mr. Shutterbug :).
Yes - when every milligram counts, they'd be shouting at me for wasting all that weight on heat shrink :)
@@CurryKitten :D :D :D
Hello.. to use the crossfire nano can i just solder the nano to the vtx or do i need to connect it to the flight controller underneath also
If you solder the Crossfire Nano in place there's an extra 2 pads on the frame labelled as CF TX/CF RX which you'll need to connect to a UART
@@CurryKitten thank you, what about the 16x16 it doesn't have the extra two pads, should i connect underneath the vtx ch1 ch2 to uarts and connect the crossfire from the top of the same ch1 and ch2
The intention with the 16mm board is that you wire from the pin holes. So mount the Xfire into the holes and solder in place and then connect additional wires from ch1/ch2 through to your TX/RX on the UARTS - which is what I think you are describing.
I have the NamelessRC VTX as well, its not bad but In addition to having a cap at the battery plug, I have one soldered directly to the AIO. have you considered soldering a cap directly to the AIO? It may reduce noise. Also, I'm starting to wonder if there are instances when it's better to run the camera to the AIO rather than to the VTX. Does that make a difference?
Mostly we need to get the camera into the AIO for it to put the OSD overlay on before we get it to the VTX, the D400 was a little different there in that it offered you the option of going in with the camera (for OSD free DVR recording) and then passed the camera signal back to the FC. It might be interesting to see the difference in camera to FC to D400 instead of looping through it
I don’t use the OSD so I always have the camera’s VCC and GND connected to the VTX 5v and GND. Believe it or not, you get a cleaner video by tapping power and GND for the camera, not from the FC.
oooh VTX
... and a tiny quad :)
@@CurryKitten yeah didnt want to mention that
I don't know what up but when I got mine, it never powered up. no leds lit up, nothing. all power cables were connected correctly. what do u think ?
DId you make sure it was just 5v in the power input and then antenna was connected ? Other than that, it could be you just had a dud
@@CurryKitten
yes, power was 5V coming from FC and antenna was connected. I do think it was just a dud.
@@FPVish Try using a volt meter on the outputs from your FC. Maybe it's not outputting 5v from those FC pins and you could change it to the pins for LED's....? 🤔😉
Can this work in a tiny whoop 1s ?
Yep - if you can squeeze it in there. It runs on 5v, but they'll be a 5v out on your FC somewhere to use

Oops, there was an extra 'l' in one of the html's :) Fixed now, thanks for letting me know
i want a guitar pic quad?!!
Get 'em while they're hot halorc.uk/products/frames/guitarpick/
No mic no buy
Is that because you listen as you fly, because I was testing the new Tank II today with a mic and the sound on the DVR is nothing to write home about - what does it do for you ?
Man that cam stinks!
But I have been flying dji
Everything is going to stink after flying at 50mbps HD :D
Nice picture sure...too bad it kills your analog friends..if you don't have any it hardly matters I suppose
