    I've enjoyed watching your series of videos, thank you.
    I have a little VU 3.8l NA Ecotec ute, but it shows the potential of this engine in the hands of some pretty creative and smart people.
    I made a note of the cylinder head shop you recommended. Not so far away.
    Just waiting for a better laptop to arrive, but I have the diagnostic cable and the software.
    I'll probably stay NA for the moment because my little ute has a fairly new Pacemaker exhaust system and some Mace Engineering intake and PCM upgrade parts I've thrown at it.
    300+ RWHP with a stock cam and 10psi, is nothing to be hating on. Well done.

    I did a similar manifold remedy for a customer buick car but used multiple thin stainless gaskets to make it multi layer style. Never an issue again. I think you're due for a bigger turbo.

    • @boostedbuiltgarage
      @boostedbuiltgarage  Před 4 lety

      It's a 3/8" (10mm) flange. Yeah unfortunately the l67 has a different exhaust port arrangement to the L27 that's in this. Would love to have an MLS gasket. I even spoke to cometic about making one but was going to cost way too much. The new ones work great so I'm stoked

    Im having some heat concerns with my headers being close to my brake master and steering box I have built some heat shields but I'm thinking I should just wrap the header and pipe on the right side, do you think that would be ok on 1.5mm mild steel? I've had a lot people tell me to avoid wrap but I'm running out of options to keep the heat out

    • @boostedbuiltgarage
      @boostedbuiltgarage  Před 4 lety

      Definitely avoid wrapping it. Even on stainless it will rust and ruin your headers. Air gap with a shield to stop radiant heat is the best method. Gold reflective tape works well. Any pipes on hoses near heat I also like to use the lava rock heat shield sleeve too

      We went 388rwhp on 14psi 14 degrees timing totally stock with logs and supert70 China 3582 copy in a 0.84 turbine housing would go 400rwhp peice of piss with more timing and leaned out we were real rich back in the day lol but we just kept going up in boost with timing at 14 till we eventually got to 25psi years ago lol.now it's 500rwhp on 20psi through a 5000rpm stall convertor with just 222@0.050 cam and mild ported heads with 5 angle valve job And 11.7-12:1 fueling with 16 degrees on Avgas though we run the same timing at 18 psi on 95 pump gas for street duties and track work just Avgas for drags. We make 500 pretty much from when it hits full boost till 6800 Ben has our timing map somewhere

  • @rosscurrant8940
