This video shows a basic deployment of EVE-NG in Microsoft's Azure Cloud Space. In about 20 MINUTES, you can deploy your own & be ready to use your own personal cloud-based home lab.
ifupdown has been replaced by netplan(5) on this system. See # /etc/netplan for current configuration. # To re-enable ifupdown on this system, you can run: # sudo apt install ifupdown
this helped me out a lot. but after when i add the images to the correct directories and fixing the perms i cant telnet into the router/switch nodes and it times out. any fix for this?
its a great video . I have 2 cisco image and a juniper . both are running but I have no connectivity using Telnet or VNC. I also installed the windows client pack. Does any have any idea what is happening.
Good stuff. Do you know how to get the Eve Nodes connected to the internet with the Azure Ubuntu server ? Its very simple with VM workstation but I can't see to get it to work with just the bare metal install.
Hi Jon, awesome video! You know I was trying to perform the installation and following along the whole process, including the one on eve-ng site, but when it comes to wget I just get a bunch a Permission denied errors. Do you have a clue of what could it be? These are the last ones: W: chmod 0700 of directory /var/lib/apt/lists/partial failed - SetupAPTPartialDirectory (1: Operation not permitted) E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (13: Permission denied) E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/ W: Problem unlinking the file /var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin - RemoveCaches (13: Permission denied) W: Problem unlinking the file /var/cache/apt/srcpkgcache.bin - RemoveCaches (13: Permission denied) E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend - open (13: Permission denied) E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), are you root? bash: /etc/modprobe.d/qemu-system-x86.conf: Permission denied sed: couldn't open temporary file /etc/ssh/sedbjPz7G: Permission denied
For some reason, instead of this: wget -O - www.eve-ng.net/repo/install-eve.sh | bash -i I did this: wget www.eve-ng.net/repo/install-eve.sh sudo bash -i install-eve.sh And it worked.
Hello Jon, I am now able to do it. Thank you! :) Hello Jon, thank you for sharing this video! From where I can find this command which you used in root starting with "sed" video timeline 12:35?
Love the video - it really helped me get things rolling. How do you send ios images to EVE-NG? I've read about FTP, and I have configured just about every single port openings and setting in the vsftpd.conf file, but nothing work. Any ideas?
Hello jon, can we install EVE NG in ASUS F570 laptop with AMD Quad Core R5 processor ? as its the latest would it show any issue compared to i5 coe processor? please help.
SOURAV GHOSH AMD is not recommended. But as long as your processor supports VT-x you will probably be okay. I run 20+ node topologies on i7 in an Intel NUC (32gb Ram) with no problem. Answer: it depend on what you are looking to run, and is not officially supported.
@@jonspindler8479 Thanks Jon. I was confused regarding this . As vt-x is the name of virtualization of Intel in case of AMD it's AMD-v. But now I can go for i5 ( for now I can afford only this ) without any doubt . Thanks for your guidance.
Awesome video 4 years later. Was able to use this with some tweeks to the install command and spin up my lab. Thanks so much Jon
Thank you for this. I was able to setup my server and was able to successfully access it via web browser. Time for some CCNP Encor labs. 10/10
Excellent work, thank you very much for your contribution.
Good Content Jon. I didn't know that you can run eve-ng on Azure. Looking forward to your next video. Thank you so much.
Awesome tutorial for beginners 😃
