  • This video will help you get Eve-NG installed on an Ubuntu deployment in Microsoft Azure.
    The following command will install the community edition of Eve-NG: (It's FREE)
    wget -O - www.eve-ng.net/repo/install-ev... | bash -i
    After you make changes to the ssh configuration, you will need to run the following commands to update the GRUB:
    sed -i -e 's/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=.*/GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="net.ifnames=0 noquiet"/' /etc/default/grub
    update-grub
    After you upload the router images to the linux server, you will need to run the following command to allow the router to boot up:
    /opt/unetlab/wrappers/unl_wrapper -a fixpermissions
    These commands will keep your Eve-NG installation up to date:
    apt-get update
    apt-get upgrade

    I built my lab out and just could not get into the routers so this really helped me sort out the rules! Thanks!

    Thanks for this post. I am trying to get my head around how I connect a device to the internet now from eve as I want to play with python and need to get updates to the linux box in eve. Any idea? The cloud option is what I use at home but I do not have a pool of addresses here.

    Hello thanks for the tutorial. Did you manage to get this also running on Ubuntu server 20.04?

    Problem is that eve-ng does not work optimally in Azure as the eve-ng kernel gets overwritten.
    Supported installs are documented on the eve-ng website. GCP is the supported install for cloud deployments:
    www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/installation/system-requirement/
    GCP install:
    www.eve-ng.net/index.php/documentation/installation/google-cloud-install/

    Hello,
    I am facing an issue and I am wondering if you can suggest me what to do. If I need to connect to Internet from Eve-ng, how can i do that. Since I used the cloud and nat option which we get in EVE-ng but that is not helping. Packets are not leaving the EVE environment. Need suggestion how can i bridge the network.
    Regards

      @ospfpacket  Před 3 lety +1

      You likely need to give your EVE-NG instance a public IP address in that case to be able to reach the internet from the VM.

      @@ospfpacket HelloSir,
      Thank you for your reply!
      I did that. But the packet does not leave from inside Eve environment to Internet. NSG and UDR on Azure are on place. But still it does not work.
      Any advice for the same?

      It must be a licensing problem, check your licensing format and retry to restart the nodes, If you want you can reboot the instance and reconnect to Eve-ng.

    It's time for azure to add a native eve-ng image and keep it updated.

      can it still be used with the latest cisco ios images?

    • @ospfpacket
      @ospfpacket  Před 3 lety

      if there is a qcow2 image of the ios, i think you can make it work. You might have to get creative with some of the naming conventions to get it working though.
