Strange that "It's a rebadged VW Crafter" wasn't mentioned.

      Rebadged ?
And so is Bentley and more....
So what? (Other than improved vehicles)
[Have a look at Rolls-Royce (Aviation), bragging about pioneering the future of electric Aviation. (Elsewhere on CZcams)
Ha ha ha, with the (unmentioned) German tech of Siemens and Extra.
(Walter Extra is a German award-winning aerobatic pilot and chief aircraft designer who founded the aerobatic aircraft manufacturer Extra Flugzeugbau.)]
      Back to this video.
VW is a brilliant (parent)company, behind the respectable MAN company.
      I don't own a MAN, yet.
(I came here because I am interested in a Crafter van.)
... Then, a "Crafter" with the MAN commercial specialities behind it.
      A brilliant idea.
I have driven and owned a few commercial (and passenger) VW vehicles. Actually, except for four Mercedes (One of those commercial - Mercedes Benz 1214 Econoliner)
vehicles, the rest was all VW.
At this time. (of my comment).
I see only childlike, comments Re "Rebadged".

@@louisfkoorts5590 I think you’re missing my point, which was that they’re treating this as something new from an unknown van manufacturer, even “the engine is a reworked Audi engine” etc, comments on the interior being car-like. They’re deliberately not mentioning that it’s a rebadged Crafter (one of the better known vans on the market) which is unusual, but they were probably told not to.

  • @iwasherefirst786

Made by VW in the new plant in Poland rather than made by Mercedes. The original van is the new VW Crafter also badged up for MAN TGE because they have 24hr servicing with their large commercial fleet.
Perfect set up VW Crafter and MAN TGE.

I'm not sure this qualifies as a review. You listed the specs & safety tech, spent almost 4min demonstrating the parking assist, then briefly mentioned the engine and the fact it's comfortable to drive and has a car-like interior. Not particularly comprehensive...not sure it even qualifies as a review...

    Crafter left Sprinter for TGE.

    • @travsformation1
      @travsformation1 Před 4 lety

Not quite. VW's deal with Mercedes to make a Sprinter-based Crafter was expensive. Now they've invested a couple billion to make the plant in Poland, and they recover part of their investment by licensing the Crafter to MAN

A very interesting entrant to the large van market in the UK, and more than interesting if it follows the pattern for quality and reliability that MAN have come to be known for. But, am I the only one who sees a resemblance to the '90s/2000s Iveco Daily?...

Let's be honest, you probably don't own one anyways. The thing I want in my van is to be able to listen to Spotify on a job, don't care about reliability, that's what my company should care about, and most people who drive those don't even own them.

    • @jigrodrigues

Michael Langley actually there is, because a company that uses MAN trucks (example) and needs a light commercial vehicle does not need to resort to a different brand. Therefore there is a possibity of getting better fleet deals, better maintenance agreements and more leverage by the user torwards the dealer.

That information was not in the MAN brochure they handed you one hour before. You did not tell them this is VW first pure Crafter, not a VW engined Sprinter
