IN 1977 while the film was being filmed I was stationed at Holloman AFB which is next door to White Sands National Monument. One day while driving down the base street leading to the main gate I passed a parked line of Semi's and some tan cop cars. On one flatbed was a cab of a black Mack with poles sticking out horizontal from the roof. It was only after seeing the movie did I realise what I had seen where some of the vehicles from the movie. The Mack cab would have been used for closeups with cameras hanging from the poles.

I’m a HGV driver for Asda Distribution here in the UK. I’ve been driving HGV’s now for 17 years so I’ve got plenty of experience. I’d love some advice on becoming a truck driver over in Brisbane, Australia. I’ve been searching for work on Seek but most of the driving jobs want you to be an Australian Citizen to apply. Would I have to sign up for an agency first? We do intend on becoming citizens once we complete our visa application this year. We already have family out in Brisbane too hence the reason we want to come out to Australia. We have visited Perth and Brisbane before with our children and we fell in love with the place.

We should get rid of tacho under 7.5t. So builders and ground worker's, general contractor's might stop overloading vans. Give builder's a bigger trailer weight with air brakes to carry a digger. None of that is haulage or sleepy high miles driving. Shouldn't need a tacho. Just bollocks!

The Convoy film has a deep impact on my life. Of course, I am also a truck driver. I worked in the transportation sector from Europe to Asia and North Africa. But that wasn't enough, maybe because of the effect of this film that triggered my big childhood dream, I came to Canada 2 years ago and worked as a truck driver between the United States and Canada, mostly on the east coast. It is very good to meet people who grew up with more or less the same dreams. I would like to express my respects to you and your efforts, and thank you again.

people, a regular set of truck + trailer with a drawbar, only a longer one and the principle is the same when reversing, but since over 50% of drivers in the UK are idiots, it's no wonder they don't drive on English roads, they shit their pants when driving on highways, let alone on roads two-way, and that's why the government banned such sets because they would get stuck on highways, I would love to drive such a truck, companies would save money and one driver could deliver more goods.
